I chose Dr. Hurvitz to “fix” my nose. I chose him because he is a board certified plastic surgeon, he is an ENT, he has a good reputation as a surgeon, and he is a nice guy! He performed a rhinoplasty, septoplasty revision, turbinate reduction, and reconstructed my nasal valve with cartilage from my ear. Not an easy procedure. I live near Newport Beach, where there are probably a hundred plastic surgeons. I am glad I chose to make the drive up to Long Beach. I am so happy with my results! I can breathe again, which has helped me to sleep much better. My nose also looks great. Another reason I chose Dr. Hurvitz is I could tell he was actually listening to me. I told him I did not want a completely different nose (looks wise); that I wasn’t unhappy with the way I looked. I just wanted a better version of what I have. He was able to make subtle changes that I am very happy with. I am already recommending him to two friends with similar issues.
I was diagnosed with a Basil Cell Carcinoma. It was located on the side of my head just above my right ear. The tumor had been there for quite some time. It was large. It was ugly. It was growing. The game plan was to have the tumor cut out at my dermatologist office. But, the closure of the would would be done by a plastic surgeon. My dermatologist felt I should have a plastic surgeon close up the would as the incision would be quite large. She referred me to Dr. Keith A. Hurvitz for the closure.
Dr. Hurvitz performed a breast reconstruction which was almost impossible because 19 years earlier I had radiation. There was damaged tissue from the radiation. At first I didn't know if it could be done. Dr. Hurvitz saved my breast so that I could put an implant in. He used a flap under my breast to bring up to "patch" the weak tissue. I was so relieved. It wasn't painful. I didn't need pain pills. It worked beautifully and it looks completely natural. And I can now look at myself in clothes with self confidence.
