Hi everyone! I'm 25, right now I measure a 32LL/M (UK) (32" tight underbust, 33" snug underbust, 48" standing bust, 51" leaning bust for reference) when I first made my appt in Aug I was wearing a 34K (UK) but actually needed a 34L but in general those are custom bra territory and I didn't want to spend more with an impending surgery. I've been working on losing weight before my surgery, originally scheduled it about 4 months out in Aug for Dec 2nd to give myself some extra time to work on weight loss. I'm somewhere around 21 lbs down and am hoping to lose another 10 or so before surgery. I plan to still continue to lose weight afterwards (will likely have around 30 lbs left) to be down around 170 and reassess if I want to lose more after that. I'm really really looking forward to less back pain, I had to switch to a different GP due to my first one telling me that "women just hold stress in their upper backs" and telling me to take ibuprofen. My new GP has so far helped a lot and put me back on muscle relaxers to help with my back pain until surgery, with the weight loss I was having a lot worse back pains and muscle spasms in my neck and upper back. I started doing strength training last week to try to get my muscles in better shape before surgery in hopes it helps with healing/adjusting to a new posture after a lot of weight is removed. Also can't wait until I can exercise without 3 sports bras on, I'm probably going to need to get all new ones as I'm currently wearing 2xl's to try to accommodate for my breast size that still don't fit everything in but with weight loss the bands are all quite loose (down 2.5" in my underbust!). I haven't lost even a partial inch in my bust with my 21 lb loss so far, I was really hoping to see some difference but so far it's definitely solidified my decision to have the surgery. I'm currently doing cardio 3x a week as well, I was jogging outside but with it getting colder my lungs don't like it as much so I now have a gym membership for cardio days. Also tracking calories to help aid my weight loss and I'm really going to try to get the maximum loss I can in the next month so I can be as close as possible to my goal weight and have a little less to lose after surgery. These past few months since I scheduled it have seriously FLOWN by so fast, it's hard to believe I only have a few months left. I plan on keeping this fairly updated as it was really difficult for me to find women my cup size experiences so I'm sure it'll help someone close to my size. I've joined a few facebook groups as well that have provided a wealth of information and really made me feel even better about my decision. Updated on 3 Dec 2016: Just had surgery yesterday morning, it was a little nerve wracking to get my draw up the evening before and my PS also used the words "you're okay with being small right?" I was/am hoping for a D/DD, since I lost weight insurance required a little over 800g per side down from 930 grams per side when I first consulted with him. The morning of I woke up at 4 am and couldn't get back to sleep, got the hospital around 6 to finish up paperwork and do my pre-op things. The nurses and anesthesiologist were all super nice and made me feel a lot better about my concerns of having a lot of pain when I woke up. Got a little worried because my procedure paperwork said nipple graft on it, but I'm pretty sure I didn't wind up needing it and was able to ask Dr. Nosti about it beforehand too which made me feel a lot better! Most of my pain/discomfort right now is in my sternum, starting to get some on my sides from where they did a little liposuction. Drains are working nicely and starting to slow down some even. It's been a bit tough trying to get my pillows positioned in a way that doesn't make my back cramp up but I can definitely tell that my shoulders and neck have less weight on them already. I got a travel neck pillow which has been really helpful for sleeping. My next appt is on Monday so I'll get to see how they look then, right now they're super compressed with an ACE wrap so it's hard to tell what their size is but just from gently feeling I'd say they're at least half the size they were. I didn't walk around much yesterday but have been trying to get up every couple hours and walk around the house. I'm in compression hose as well, the nurse suggested keeping them on for a few days to help prevent clots and swelling. My hands are still pretty puffy too but I've been taking bromelain so that should continue to help bring the bloating down. So far so good! I'll have to post some update pictures after Monday possibly depending on what sort of dressings I have on them. Updated on 5 Dec 2016: Had my first follow-up visit this afternoon. Drains were able to get removed since I was barely draining anything at that point. That admittedly was not a pleasant experience. I've in the past had vasovagal responses to pretty minor things like piercings, once a plasma donation, getting the arm implant BC removed , nerve block injections in my neck, etc. The right one came out with a slight pinch and I only really felt it at the end, definitely not anything I'd call bad. The left one I definitely felt all of it and it sent a really sharp pain to my nipple nothing unbearable though, a few seconds after that I was on the verge of getting sick, dripping in sweat, trying to take deep breaths to calm down since my bp suddenly dropped, luckily I was able to lay down and they put cool towels on me and I was recovered within a few minutes. This is pretty unlikely if you haven't had a response like this in the past for it to happen to you. I'm not really sure why it happens, I'm not afraid of needles or bodily fluids or anything, my body just likes to overreact apparently! But after that I got a short look at them while he was changing the dressings, wrapped me back up in the ACE wraps and I was on my way. I was very glad to have my boyfriend taking care of me over the weekend and doing all of the drain changes since there were a few times that I felt very woozy. Definitely try to have someone help you out for a few days if you can! I think I have feeling in most of my boobs but I do have 2 pretty big numb patches under my armpits and towards my back and possibly my left nipple is a little bit numb as well but it feels similar to how it did pre-op. I get little zingers every once in a while and some itchies but I think those have mostly been from the ace wrap which I was able to take off, have the boyfriend scratch my back, then put back on. They removed 1850g total, so about 4 lbs and pretty even on both sides. Did roughly 750 each side then 350 in lipo for shaping. I think I'm looking around a D/DD right now though with swelling/gauze it's a little hard to say! The shape and perkiness I'm liking a lot! No extreme pain or anything like that, just quite a bit of soreness that comes and goes. I was on oxycodone but that was making me feel quite nauseous even with anti-nausea meds so that got switched to Tramadol today and that seems to be working much better with less side effects at least after 2 doses. My next post-op appt is a week from today. My only real restrictions is no showering since my drain wounds are freshly opened, no raising my arms, no lifting. I've been trying to walk around the house every few hours and keep my blood flowing and so far so good. I've almost lost the 6 lbs of bloating I had the day after surgery, I swear it looked like I was near full term pregnancy! I will hopefully update when I change the dressings either tomorrow or the next day, my ps suggested every day or 2 would be fine to change them and to make sure I put antibiotic cream (like neosporin) on the drain holes. Updated on 6 Dec 2016: My torso looks so long to me now that's it's uncovered! Really happy with the shape and size. Today so far I've been itchy, need to pick up some benedryl to help with that. I was able to wash my hair last night so that feels way better now too. The sports bra I bought from Walmart doesn't quite fit in xl, still a bit too small and I didn't want too push it since I know the zipper isnt super secure. I have a couple of fruit of the loom ones coming today in a few band sizes up I'm thinking they'll be comfier than the ace wraps. Discomfort is pretty minimal today, the new pain meds seems to be doing its job quite well. Updated on 15 Dec 2016: I just wanted to share this article from before surgery that I found really helpful. I can't say that any of these supplements 100% helped so far since I don't know how I'd be healing without them but it's good info to discuss with your plastic surgeon! I'll be uploading 12 days PO pictures shortly as well! http://www.drsinatra.com/maximizing-the-surgery-recovery-process/ Updated on 15 Dec 2016: I had a few stitches taken out on Monday and tape removed, a couple of the stitches were a tiny be stingy but that was about it discomfortwise. I've been in the Dankin zip up sports bras from Walmart for the most part, I tried a few from amazon and found these to be a lot more comfy and supportive. Just make sure the zipper is pointed down so it locks otherwise it will unzip on you! I went back to work a few days ago and have been doing half days or 6ish hour days, my boss has been super amazing and has been making sure I'm doing okay. Mostly just have had a lot of energy dips with being super tired suddenly throughout the day, still sore but on only ibuprofen now and tramadol or oxycodone at night before bed. Other than that I'm doing quite well, I'm actually really amazed at how good my left vertical incision looks! The right is a little more scabby and the nipple isn't quite as round and boob is a bit more boxy but I'm sure it'll even as as everything settles! Updated on 29 Dec 2016: Doing pretty good. My right opening looks a little bigger but seems to be healing pretty well. The right side I think looks a little bigger and looking down the nipple is pointing more outward than the left, straight on I don't think it's too noticeable though and I'm hoping size/nipples will even out. Leftie is definitely my favorite even with the wound. Right has one right below my nipple that is about half the size it was last week, then a possible stitch ulcer in the t section. None of them hurt luckily and I've been using the manuka honey bandages from CVS and changing them as needed! Updated on 2 Jan 2017: Just changed the bandages and I'm way impressed with the progress in the last few days! I only took pictures of my t intersections, right opening under the nipple didn't need changed yet. Right is still totally gross looking to me but it does seem to be smaller. I believe it's a stitch ulcer but I'm not entirely sure and won't see my ps for another week ish. No smell or anything to it, pretty minimal discharge as well, it seems to still be trying to scab over and I can still see the stitch in it. One long stitch poking out when I push in right under it, I pulled on it really lightly and can feel it goes to my horizontal incision so I'm definitely not going to mess with that until I see the surgeon. Left side seems to be a little over half new skin tissue and the inner open wound is closing up nicely! It actually bled quite a bit between changing bandages so I'm thinking the blood vessels got to it finally and that's why such a nice increase in healing speed! Hopefully my pictures aren't side down, I apologize if they are, wasn't up to running them through an app! Updated on 3 Jan 2017: So, I'm on vacation and have been for about 2 weeks, I'm away from my ps by about 18 hours, next appt is next Monday. My t section is looking a tiny bit better but now the stitch poking through a little under my nipple has opened the skin up farther. :( No real pain with it at least but I wish I could get it fixed sooner than later, I'm worried it's going to get worse before I can get into my ps. I've been keeping it covered with through the manuka honey honey bandages but I think just moving around is causing it to keep poking out, it takes barely any pressure to push it up and is now sticking out of my skin without pushing on it. There's also a slightly yeasty smell to the bandages when I change them. Planning on giving the office a call tomorrow to ask if I need to be doing anything special. On a positive note, my left side seems to be healing well. Updated on 6 Jan 2017: Feeling a lot better so far. I gave my ps a call on Wed and spoke to the nurse about the openings with the sutures poking out. For the below the nipple one she suggested getting butterfly closures to help it hold together so I did that and it's looking loads better. I also picked up some triple antibiotic cream as well, let the right totally dry out over night, they weren't leaking much fluid so the manuka honey wasn't doing much for healing like it was for the left side. Within 2 days it looks way better to me! So glad to see progress and not anything getting worse! Just some tiny little open wound spots left on my left t too! I do still have some asymmetry so I'm going to still bring that up to see if it's swelling or something that may need to be addressed at a later date. It's not a huge difference but enough I think I could have issues with bra fitting sit it might be about a cup size bigger. But we'll see! It all takes time, been growing these things for years, and they're so much better than before. Updated on 12 Jan 2017: Had an appt on Monday and had that suture that was poking through removed. Got numbed up and he had to cut a couple places to get it removed it was a lonnnng one and my boob did not want to give it up. It was uncomfortable and felt weird, a few pinches here and there but not horrible at least. I mentioned the size difference I'm noticing and he didn't say too much other than it was pretty early to judge and there's still definitely a chance they'll even out more. I think it might be evening out some now that that suture is out, could be all in my head but I'm staying hopeful! I went to VS! I was sized into a 36DD, way to early to tell, plus I'm a 32 band, maybe a 34 in their weird sizing so I know that's not accurate. Large for their bralettes so I fit into most styles! I got a few and love how cute they are, included a picture of one! I started taping yesterday after taking these pictures. I read a bunch on using kinesotape so I'm giving that a try since everything is all closed up! I've had a lot of success with it in the past on a different injury so I'm thinking it'll do well for scar reduction, I have a couple little raised spots I'm hoping will flatten out some more. Updated on 20 Jan 2017: Still have some unevenness, one more appt at the end of March to address size difference and r nipple placement, easy fix if the residual swelling isn't causing the difference. Overall way happy! Started massaging with castor oil to lessen the scars may do kinesotape more but it's a little difficult to get off and I can't massage with it on. I'm allergic to paper tape so can't do that! Will try to keep with weekly updates!
