FemiLift: How long do the results last?

As women age, we lose collagen and elastin, both outside our bodies, as well as inside. For our vaginal tissue, this may be compounded as a result of hormonal changes, vaginal childbirth and menopause. The FemiLift laser works by creating minor channels of thermal stimulation &nbsp;in the vaginal canal. This stimulates the cells in your body that are responsible for the development of collagen and elastin to kick into action. More collagen and elastin equals thicker tissue in your vaginal canal. Thicker tissue increases pressure on the urethra and adjacent structures which helps with urinary stress incontinence.  Moreover, a tighter vagina creates more sensation for both partners during intercourse and younger, healthier tissue may restore your appearance to its original appearance.&nbsp;

Can you please explain how FemiLift works.

How does FemiLift work?

Alma, the company that designed the FemiLift laser, suggests that a woman have three treatments spaced a month apart, as well as a yearly maintenance treatment. &nbsp;In our practice, we have found that the women who follow those parameters, tend to have the best results. &nbsp;That being said, occasionally, a woman may be satisfied with her results after two treatments and every now and then, a woman feels that she would benefit from a fourth treatment. &nbsp;This is because, each woman is different and every situation is unique, and at V Femina, we like to treat everyone accordingly. &nbsp;

Is FemiLift a one time procedure, or will I need multiple treatments?

FemiLift: How many treatments will I need?

Most of my patients report an immediate improvement in urinary stress incontinence, increased lubrication and greater I sexual sensation.  This may be a result of swelling from the treatment, but it appears that the development of younger, healthier tissue coincides with the decrease in the swelling that result from the procedure.  Because there is a great amount of tissue that is left untouched, recovery is very quick. At our practice, we recommend avoiding intercourse, the use of tampons or introducing any other foreign object in the vagina for a minimum of three days. After three days, there s a noticeable difference in the feeling of the vaginal canal and patients report that it only improves with time.  By the time, a patient has her second treatment, a month later, she feels a significant difference from her pre-treatment status.  This procedure is genuinely a win-win-win treatment, giving a woman the confidence that she desires, decreasing any unintentional loss of urine, improving  sexual stimulation and creating an aesthetic improvement WITHOUT surgery or downtime

Are the results from the FemiLift procedure immediate, or will I need to wait?

FemiLift: When Will I Notice the Results?

Absolutely.  The cervix does not play a role in the FemiLift procedure.  The FemiLift Laser works on the mucosa in the vaginal canal, stimulating and developing collagen and elastin, thickening the tissue, strengthening the pelvic floor and restoring the pressure on adjacent structures.  Therefore, a woman without a cervix can expect the same exact results as woman with a cervix.

Does this procedure work on women whom don't have a cervix?

FemiLift is the perfect procedure for the "woman on the go".  There is zero downtime.  The procedure takes less time than an annual exam.  There is no pain, no anesthesia and the only side effect MAY be slight spotting for a day or two.  We, at V Femina, suggest that a patient abstain from sexual activity for three days, but other than that there are no restrictions.  This procedure is designed to improve your life, not interrupt it.  Any woman who suffers from stress incontinence, post menopausal symptoms or wants to improve her sex life may be the perfect candidate for FemiLift.

Urinary stress incontinence is defined as unintentional loss of urine from the bladder.  This usually occurs from some type of action that puts stress on the bladder.  The stress can be caused by a simple activity such as laughing, coughing, sneezing, jumping or exertion from lifting an object.  Childbirth or pregnancy, a change in hormones, menopause and loss of collagen and elastin from aging, all contribute to this uncomfortable condition.

The amazing thing about the FemiLift is that is serves several purposes. The laser stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which in turn thickens the wall of the vagina. &nbsp;This thickening of the vaginal wall &nbsp;puts pressure on adjacent structures, such as the urethra. &nbsp;Pressure on the urethra, allows a woman to control unintentional leakage of urine from the bladder when any pressure is put upon that region from simple activities, such as coughing, laughing, sneezing and many more. &nbsp;<br><br>Another benefit claimed by patients who have had the FemiLift treatment, is increased lubrication and decreased irritation in women who were peri or post menopausal.&nbsp;<br><br>The final benefit that I will discuss in this article is that of increased sexual pleasure for both partners. &nbsp;The thicker wall of the vaginal canal (tightening) and increased lubrication, allow for greater sensation and greater satisfaction during intercourse.
