If I could give 10 stars I would. I had a FUT procedure in 1998 by one of the "top" hair restoration doctors. My scar hurt for years and I can not get a short haircut because it shows just above the neck's hairline. Dr. Williams is an award winning SURGEON and you can't even see his higher scalp scar after a short time, and no pain at the scar site. He did 100% of the implant incisions and locations himself, provided 4 times the hairs at the hairline and overall more hair than his competition, and does not rely on painful and scarring FUE plugs installed by technicians, like most of the Dr's I talked to before him. His results are phenomenal, the entire experience is light years better than my prior experience. NO SHAVED HEAD. If they want to shave your head for the procedure, RUN!!! Dr. Williams provides excellent value for the price, loves what he does, and does it well. Meet with him, and you will see an immediate difference from all the others out there pushing procedures that are good for the Dr., but not good for you, the client.
I had a consultation with Dr. Williams, he was very informative and patient with all my questions. I learned so much about the artistry he utilizes in order to get a natural looking hair transplant. As a female this was extremely important to me, I do not want a man's hairline. I am positive I have found the perfect surgeon to get me the results I am hoping for.
In my search for an extremely competent and compassionate hair transplant surgeon I found Dr. Williams. I met with Dr. Williams to discuss my desire to have transplant surgery to address my thinning hair and bald areas. Dr. William took the time to discuss my aspirations and the realistic outcome that I could receive with the donor hair that I had. We discussed the FUT and FUE procedures. With the amount of hair need for my desired outcome we decided on the FUT procedure. DR. Williams never pushed one procedure over another, he just gave me the facts and it was up to me as to what I wanted. He was very professional, warm, caring and has a passion to perform the surgery to the highest artistic manner. He told he is not satisfied until I’m satisfied. Wow, when is the last time you ever heard that. He explained in great detail of what would happen on the day of the surgery and the healing process from the surgery. I immediately knew that I wanted to have Dr. Williams to do the work. But I did not schedule the procedure with Dr. Williams at that time. This was a big investment and I wanted to check out other surgeons. Dr. Williams encourage me to do so. I checked out two other surgeons here in Las Vegas along with some in California. What I found was that I could not find a surgeon that had the same passion and compassionate manner of Dr. Williams. So, I went back to see Dr. Williams and scheduled the procedure. I feel that I have made the best decision with the finest surgeon and can’t wait to start this journey with Dr. Williams. I will update after my 1 year follow up to discuss my results and the hair transplant surgery.
My visit was comfortable as Dr. williams put me at ease from the very beginning. He explained the various procedures and which one would be right for me. He was also conscious regarding my budget. I was very happy and satisfied with all the information I received and have already recommended him to a friend.
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Williams. I went into my consultation appointment wanting to know how much FUE hair transplant would cost. After a thorough examination, Dr. Williams spent a good amount of time explaining the pros and cons of both FUE and FUT hair transplant. In the end, he provided me an alternative non-invasive procedure that would cost way less than hair transplant. Dr. Williams is one of the most ethical and honorable surgeons I've met.
The doctor and the staff are amazing. This is the most approachable and communicative doctor that I have ever met. He gave me his personal cell number, and I have been able to communicate with him at anytime including weekends and holidays. Now I am looking forward to see the new hair grow soon. The facility is great and very clean.
I visited many hair restoration practices during my due diligence. I couldn't believe that Dr. Williams is the only diplomat of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery, living and practicing exclusively in Hair Restoration in the Las Vegas area. I was so impressed with Dr. Williams because of his passion and commitment for a natural undetectable result GUARANTEED! He surpassed my expatiations, my hair looks great!
For several years I've been contemplating a hair transplant because of my rapidly diminishing hair line. In July/August 2014 I decided it was time to do something about it. I had several consultations with FUT & FUE doctors all over Las Vegas. I decided on a FUT procedure and to use Joseph L Williams . I was impressed with him for a variety of reasons. On September 5th I had surgery. As you can see from the picture (which was taken minutes after the procedure) I had minimal redness. That was a big relief because I have fair skin and I was worried that my head would be that horrible shade of red that I've seen in so many pictures. I was fortunate because most of my new grafts never fell out. At about 3 months I could already see growth. Its now March 2015 (6 months later) and it has grown out great. Its hard to tell from the pictures but it is thinner in some areas versus others so I'm hoping that after another 6 months all areas have filled out. Updated on 6 Nov 2015: Its been a little over a year and I'm very happy with the results.
In situations like yours, I would refer to a Dermatologist for a scalp biopsy to know for sure. Alopecia aerate is managed medically & will almost always fail to grow hair with a transplant. It is an autoimmune disorder where AGA is genetic & response well to transplant.
Typically, a Dermatologist with a scalp biopsy is what I would trust. After all, skin is an organ all to itself & a dermatologist is a specialist in skin (of which hair is an appendage of skin.) There is the possibility of a patient having both at the same time, however, with my patience, I explain that TE (telogen effluvium) will typically resolve over time, but AGA (androgenic alopecia) usually worsens with time, as it is a progressive disease. The dermatologist will assist the patient on treatment of both.
My patients are not encouraged to use scar creams, but I have no problem if it is utilized once the incision is healed in 3 or 4 weeks. I would encourage applying horizontally if placing on an FUT (linear scar) to avoid potential stretch back if applying vertically. If FUE scars, it should not make a difference how the scar cream is applied.
One of the most difficult parts of hair restoration procedures is waiting for a satisfactory growth to finally occur. The comparison of "watching grass grow" is similar. My patients are no different & the result at 8 months is disappointing to most patients. I use a magnification scope to reassure my patients. With a 50 power lens, I can show my patients what is similar to a garden just starting to grow with the little seedings barely at the surface. It's similar with a great number of the hair follicles. I ask my patients not to worry & realize that it takes more time to improve. Typically, the vast number of patients are feeling much happier at 12 months. Your pictures are about where most patients are at 8 months growth.
Hi shanug92, thank you for your question. There is no way to determine the level of hair loss you will have in the years to come, so ultimately this decision is up to you. Since Finasteride isn't an option for you, when used properly Low Level Laser Therapy can help the native hair from falling out sooner. Ultimately, if your receding hairline is troubling you then you should proceed to have the hairline rebuilt knowing that in the future you may need to have additional work done.
