Hi Ladies! I'm so glad I joined this site, I love how everyone is so helpful. I'm 29 years old and have a 9 year old son. I want a BA since my teenage years. I'm a small 32A. I can easily make them look bigger with a Victoria Secret push up bra. I'm very athletic...been running cross country since I'm 7 and now work out 4-5 times a week...love the gym. I know I won't be able to work out for 6weeks but I guess I have to make the sacrifice haha. I have all the support from my family (my mom isn't very happy about it) and my boyfriend will take care of me as long as I can't handle it on my own. I had a consultation about a week ago and my surgery date is june 22nd with Dr.Strausser. He is one of the best. I do not like doctors but he made me feel like the most important person and his job is beautiful. I'm sure I will be in the right hand. My pre op visit is june 1st. I would love to have 300-350 cc put in. But I still haven't decided if I should have saline or silicone under the muscle. I can't make up my mind because there are pros and cons to both. Anyone have any advice? Updated on 29 Apr 2015: Here are the pictures of my small girls. Also went to get my physical and blood work done today. In a couple of days the result come back so I can be cleared for surgery...I can't wait. Less then two months away. Yaaaayy! Updated on 4 May 2015: I had physical and blood work done couple of days ago and the results came back. I'm cleared for surgery! I'm very excited, and nervous in the same time. Less then two months..Count down begins! Updated on 18 Jun 2015: HI Ladies! I haven't updated for awhile. I had my pre-op visit 2weeks ago. My doctor and nurse explained everything ( i know more than i wanted to lol). We decided on a size between 300-350cc. I leave it to the doctor to what to put in between these...will see what fits in perfectly. He is so amazing and so professional, I completely trust him. This 2 weeks past so fast, and was so busy that i forgot about that it is almost time. I don't feel nervous at all...is it normal? I wish everyone a safe surgery and easy recovery. I will post again after my big day Updated on 23 Jun 2015: Yesterday I was really out of it. Had my surgery. I had to be at my doctors office @8:15. My boyfriend took me. We went through some paperwork then the nurse took me in. Surprisingly I wasn't even nervous. The nurses and doctor were so nice and made me feel so comfortable. After talking to them all I remember than I was home and my boyfriend taking care of me. I slept most of the day. I got home around 12:15pm. I threw up once then I was fine. Today is a day after surgery. I slept through the night in a recliner. I been in pain but nothing I can't handle. I haven't taken the prescription pill just took 2 tylenol. I put ice packs on the twins...it helps a lot. I can't take the bra off for a week. The doctor will on my next visit which is in a week. I will keep you posted. I wish everyone a safe surgery and fast recovery. Updated on 24 Jun 2015: I had felt better lol I couldn't sleep much at night. The pain is mostly gone...just my appetite haven't come back so I feel very weak. My boyfriend tries so hard to help me out with everything. I can't take my bra off for a week so I don't know how my twins look. They seem to be a nice size for me. I think I'm just a little emotional because I'm stuck at home. Can't wait to feel a bit better. I don't want to feel regret to get them done. Updated on 25 Jun 2015: My day was a little bit better than yesterday. The pain is pretty much gone. Although I can't stand to sit around. I have no appetite and hardly had anything to eat since before surgery. And I really don't want to loose any more wait. I might be just emotional but I start to regret having it done. I miss the things I was able to do. My one week post op visit on Monday, in 4 days. I can't wait to be able to shower and take this bra off. Updated on 29 Jun 2015: I had my one week post op visit. He took the bra off and all the wrapping. Felt so good. I was able to shower today and had to start massaging them but I was afraid I would hurt them so I didn't do it as long as I had to. I will do better tomorrow. I still have to get use to my twins being bigger and so nice. I'm very pleased with my doctor and his work. It was worth it. My boyfriend loves them also lol. I had a hard recovery time for the first five days. The pain was not bad and I didn't even take the pain killers but I had no appetite and was nauses and was emotional. Being home and lay around, isn't my thing. I'm always on the go and working. I'm glad I can get back to my daily routine (almost). I'm looking forward to read everyone's journey and wish all of you ladies a quick and painfree recovery.
Middle age brings sagging and wrinkling so it was time to do something about it. One always wonders if a face lift will leave you looking like Joan Rivers but this will not happen with Dr. Strausser. He listened to what I wanted to accomplish then provided his expert opinion. And the results proved he isn't aggressive. He wants perfection just like the patient.
I had very saggy breast after 3 pregnancies and wanted the fullness back. I was very nervous to see a plastic surgeon and agonized for months before making an appointment. Dr. Strausser and his staff made me feel very comfortable from the moment I walked through the door. There was no pressure to schedule the breast implant surgery from the doctor or nurse. I just new it was the right place to be once I met all of them. And the aftercare was great.
You have sag (ptosis) as well as small breasts (hypomastia). Your ptosis appears to be grade III (on a scale of I-III). This is determined by where the nipple/areola are located relative to the crease under the breast (sub-mammary fold).Sag (Ptosis) is not treated with breast augmentation, and small breasts are not treated with lifts. You need a mastopexy (lift). If you are happy with the amount of breast tissue when you lift your breasts with your hands, then you don't need an augmentation. If you aren't sure, you can always delay the augmentation until after the lift is performed and then make a decision whether to augment or not in a second procedure. Putting implants in a person with sag will only lead to bigger, heavier, droopy breasts, unless a lift is also performed. Just remember - a breast lift trades sag for scars, that is why many women will only have augmentations. Please see a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. There are many "wannabes" out there.
This sounds like a seroma - a collection of serum under the skin. Certainly a glandular secretion is also possible. The main problem is making sure you don't get an infection, or don't already have one. This is something that can only be evaluated and treated by your doctor - so, as the other respondents have suggested - get to you doc ASAP. It's not an emergency but should be treated with some urgency to prevent further problems.
Find another doctor.Make sure they are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Any physician who is too busy for your needs should not be your physician. Some of us are excellent physicians/surgeons, some are excellent communicators. You need someone who has the whole package. That being said - some patients are "excessively needy" and no reasonable physician has enough time for them. Find one who is a good fit for you.
This is easy.History, physical exam, discussion of procedures, alternatives, anesthesia, implants, risks, complications, costs and recommendations are the elements of the initial consultation. Follow-up appointment(s) are to go over instructions, answer additional questions and prepare patient for surgery. I always have the patient's significant other and/or caretaker attend at least one of the conferences. That being said - it generally takes me an hour or longer for my average consultation. Balancing a patient's needs/wants with reasonable surgical expectations is an art. The most common issues revolve around the expectation that an augmentation will lift the breast (it will not).
You have ptosis (sag) of the breasts. Breast augmentation does not treat ptosis. From the frontal and ¾ view pictures your ptosis is grade III, with the nipple areola complex below the inframammary fold (this is less apparent on the true lateral photo). As such a McKissock style (anchor scar) mastopexy (lift) is the standard procedure for lifting. There are probably a hundred different variations on this procedure because we are always looking at a way to minimize visible scarring. No single procedure works for everyone. The degree of ptosis largely determines the procedure and where the scars are placed. Many physicians claim they have invented a "new" way of doing a procedure and name it after themselves. Always be circumspect when a "new" or "improved" procedure, prosthesis, technique is advised, or a doctor claims he invented a procedure, or is the only one who can do it.. Most of them are just self-promotional. The vertical scar from a standard mastopexy usually heals nicely and is minimally noticeable. The extreme lateral portions of the submammary scar can be the most bothersome as this is where the most tenderness occurs. In my experience, the vast majority of patients are extremely happy with mastopexy and reduction procedures as the benefits of the lift outweigh the scars. However, make sure you understand that "a breast lift trades sag for scars".Costs vary with location, physician, procedure. I'm in Florida so I really can't advise you on windy city costs.
