QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Can I get Invisalign to fix overjet?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Frankly, teeth doesn't know if it the pressure comes from the brackets (braces) or plastic (invisalign). If the goal of the treatment by your treatming provider is to correct the overjet, and has set a treatment mechanics to correct such, either braces or invisalign would work fine.
Orthodontists are specialists in treating all types of maloclussion including overjet issues. The outcome would really depend on what your provider's goals are. A regular dentist with extensive experience in invisalign can provide a good treatment In my experience. However, regular dentist's invisalign fees are not necessarily cheaper than orthodontist's either. My recommendation is to consult with multiple providers before you settle on one.

In-house aligners for Invisalign Expresss would work really well for cases like this. This is a very minor case and it should be closed with just a few aligners, and the cost should also be minimal. The aligners can also help reduce black triangles if you have some IPR done between the front teeth.

Hi! It appears that you have skeletal cant for your smile - Your upper jaw has has a "Cant" that is counterclockwise. The best way to diagnose this if you truly have this cant is to take an 3D X-ray called CBCT or PA Ceph.

Treatment options include:
1) Orthognathic Surgery (Jaw surgery)
2) Braces with TADs (Temporary Anchorage Devices).

Aligners, although doable, are less versatile when it comes to treatment of this type, and I would prefer traditional braces to treat this case. Veneers change the shape of your teeth, and will not change the slanting.

Hope this helps!
