I developed capsular contractor in both breasts after my initial BA (12/21). Dr. Gopman, at the Laufer Institute, performed a full capsulectomy to remove the scar issue and create a healthy pocket. He was also able to perform an implant exchange during the same surgery. I couldn’t be happier with my results! My breasts look AMAZING and the pain from the CC is gone. I was able to use the warranty that came with my Natrelle implants to cover some of the costs and change the implant size. Although, he did not preform my initial surgery, he was kind enough to discount his surgeon fee. That’s unheard of! I love everyone who works at the Laufer Institute! They are all highly professional but also remain down to earth. I actually have fun with them when I go in for my checkups :) Seriously, I can’t speak highly enough about all of them. Dr. Gopman, the nurses, the nurse anesthetists, all have excellent bedside manners…they will keep you calm, keep you safe, answer every question, and even make you laugh. Danielle (patient coordinator) and Sarah (receptionist) are also excellent! I could go on and on :) I highly recommend Dr. Gopman at the Laufer Institute!
I am very happy with the results I obtained with Dr. Gopman doing my breast augmentation. He took his time and carefully listened to what I wanted and he and his staff nailed it! couldn't be better!
I recently underwent surgery with Dr. Jared Gopman, and the experience was truly transformative. I waited over two years for him to complete his residency and then traveled from New York to Florida and it was entirely worth it. Dr. Gopman not only demonstrates exceptional surgical expertise but also exhibits kindness and patience—qualities one desires in a surgeon. After three failed surgeries with other doctors, Dr. Gopman successfully corrected my tuberous breasts, addressing issues like double bubble and malpositioning. Throughout the process, he addressed my doubts and created a supportive environment. His outstanding work not only resolved these challenges but also significantly improved my self-esteem. I am forever grateful for the incredibly gifted Dr. Gopman and I enthusiastically recommend him to friends and family considering breast augmentations.
Hello! So glad to hear you are happy with the functional results of your surgery. Regarding your cosmetic concerns, yes your photos show fullness in the outer parts of your breast by your armpit. To treat this and any other concerns, you would likely need a revision breast reduction. Unfortunately this would most likely not be covered by your insurance plan as it is considered cosmetic surgery. Hope this helps!
Regarding your biocell implants, symptoms such as late-onset swelling or firmness on one side or the other warrant further discussion with your plastic surgeon and possible referral for imaging based on clinical exam. An ultrasound often less-costly and quicker to schedule and complete than a breast MRI, and has minimal risks to perform. You could always undergo an MRI following an ultrasound if there are any concerning findings. I hope this helps answer your question!
Hello! You should wait a minimum of 3 months after your explant surgery in order to allow your breast tissue to heal and any resulting scar tissue to soften. It is wonderful that your pain resolved so quickly.
Implants are not meant to be "life-long" devices, but I often tell patients that as long as you like how your breasts look and feel you do not need to undergo the risks of surgery in order to exchange them. However if you are already planning on undergoing breast surgery, you should consider switching out your implants for new ones as the incisions used to lift the breast can also be used to access the implant pockets and switch them out.
Yes you have tuberous breasts, which often times are best treated with peri-areolar lifts with implants. Individual surgeons have different preferences when treating tuberous breasts, but depending on your size goal, a peri-areolar lift with implants could work well for you.
