Dr.Jaime Lumban left me speechless and exceeded my expectations. I was hesitant for getting my rhinoplasty here due to negative insights on many surgeons in Tijuana. With Dr. Jaime Lumban I felt comfortable! Everything from the consultation to the follow up was easily understanding and comfortable. He gave me a beautiful aesthetically pleasing nose all around. My family and friends tell me it doesn’t look like I got work done at all. The only downfall was the hospital. It was very vintage but the staff was amazing! His office is in a different location though and it’s so modern ! Definitely recommend him ! If you’re seeing this Dr. Jaime Lumban , Thank you so much ! Hands of a god.
Dr. Lumban is AMAZING!! An artist with a scalpel. If you research him, you will find someone with impeccable credentials, well educated, who holds prestigious medical honors in the US and Mexico, racked up over the course of his 25+ years of experience. If you read his reviews (google him in Spanish and English) you will find nothing but glowing testimonials, beautiful before and after pictures and many, many patients so grateful for how he changed their lives. When you first make contact with him, he is immediate in his response time, fluent in English and Spanish, answers not only your questions, but your concerns and fears. I'd never had surgery of any kind, never been admitted to a hospital, this was going to be my first time and I went into it with confidence that I was going to have an outstanding outcome, which I did. When you meet him in person, he is SO positive, optimistic and upbeat, his care and concern is evident and goes a long way toward melting any apprehensions. He explains everything clearly, answers all your questions, he is an excellent, humble, talented human being and truly gifted surgeon (and ear, noses and throat guy). I had no idea I had a deviated septum. I knew something was wrong with me, but no US doctors ever cared to diagnose me. Dr Lumban not only did, he explained what that meant, with visuals, then corrected it as well as giving me a nose that fit my face- finally! I didn't show up with pictures of what I wanted to look like after he was done, I just trusted him. I saw his work, read the reviews, studied his credentials, then completely put myself in his hands, and I am SO glad I did! He is the DaVinci of face sculpting (in addition to his 'regular job' of ear, nose and throat. One day while I was waiting, a small child was waiting as well. People trust him with their small children. She came out with a sucker, and no tears. He genuinely cares about people on a level beyond just the nose on their face, to coin a phrase. He cares about their overall health, and how they are as people. I am SO thankful he was my surgeon. If he were to go to the US and set up a practice, he could easily charge 10 times what he charges- I would know. I researched having my procedure done in the states, and I could never afford anyone of Dr. Lumban's caliber. After care was as great, he even came to see me in the hospital late at night, to go over my care instructions and the prescriptions, rather than assigning that to a nurse and just staying home, he is truly a gift to the Tijuana community, and to anyone that has the fortune to have him as their doctor. I'll post before and after pictures eventually, you won't believe the incredible difference he made in my life.
My experience was great. I needed to see an ENT specialist since I've suffered from chronic sinusitis for the past 15 years and ive also suffers from tonsillitis infections since a was a little girl not to mention the disgusting tonsils stones .. Ewww So after dealing with Kaiser Permante here in the states and for years with the same problem they never wanted to do anything about. All they would give me was antibiotics (Augmentin). I was literally at my doctors for the same reasons appox. 6-8 times a year. I finally came with a final solution and see a specialist in Tijuana that would end my situation for once and for all. I googled the best ENT in TJ and came across his name and started to get highly positive recommended reviews. I set and appointment and told him my situation and he referred me to get a CT Scan which is in the same building he is located at. After he saw the CT Scan he did say I had swollen large turbinates also my tonsils were huge and he did recommend a nasal endoscopy sinus surgery along with removal of my tonsils. He prescribed me some sinus and allergy pills and also a nasal deflamantory spray before surgery (15 days prior). My surgery was done yesterday and i went home the same day. Yes I woke up with the worst sore throat and earache. They gave me pain medication trough my IV and it took the pain away. I'm home now and just a little nasal bleeding but I put a small gauze with tape and it's all good (you only bleed a little for the first 2 days. Doctor also prescribed me some antibiotics for the next 10 days. I'm eating baby food and liquids for the next 10 days ... but I miss food so bad (I love food what can I say). Lol
I was refered to him by a friend, the only thing that worried me was that he had no reviews on realself but after going with 3 different surgeons I decided to go with him. I liked him because he was the only doctor that told me he could straighten my deviated septum, he said he would leave my nose looking natural, and he does surgery in a hospital wich makes me a little more comfortable... the hospital isn't the nicest in tijuana but its decent, seems clean and the staff overall is pretty nice. So I booked my surgery for November 10th, got there at 7:30 am. They gave me a pill to calm my nerves, injected the IV and soon the doctor, nurse, and anesthiologist came in to introduce themselves. The surgery took about 4 hours, the worst part after surgery was my throat due to the tube they insert for you to breathe when using general anesthesia. My throat burned and i was really thirsty. So I was now in my room with my family and ice in my face to help with the swelling. I was in the hospital till about 8:30, during that time I slept for a few hours and was being taken care by my nurses which were taking care of putting ice on my face, changing my gauze and bringing me soemthing to drink and eat. At first they brought me only a liquid diet, and a few minutes before I left I had a chicken soup with vegetables which was pretty good. Before I left Dr.Lumban came in to check on me and give me my prescription for my medicine and explain a few things for my recovery. After that, I was taken to my car in a wheel chair by my nurse. One thing I was very happy about was that I was able to breathe perfectly!!! Untill the second day :( ... my nose was bleeding alot the second day and maybe it was my fault that I didn't clean it correctly but It was now full of blood clots. I could no longer breathe through my nose. Its day 5 today and im still not able to breathe through my nose, im still really swollen and have bruises on both my eyes. I have felt no pain, the only thing is ny nose sometimes burns a bit but thats all. I have not been able to see my nose so I cant tell you anything about that yet.. Tomorrow I will have my cast and splints removed so I will update my experience then!
So today its been 8 days after my surgery and let me say its a slow recovery. Lets just it aint no walk in the park surgery. The first 3 days were brutal you feel like your throat was sliced with a sharp razor blade. You can't speak and could only open your mouth very little and its hurts like hell to eat. You could only eat soft food and the pain even with the pain medicine its brutal. After the first three days you feel a little better. But wait ... because then immediately comes the scabs and holy moly its another episode of pain. The scabs are falling off so your new fresh skin is coming through so that is painful like no other. Back to pain medicine and baby food ... that will be another 5 more days of healing and its to the point where you say "was this even worth it" But be patient cuz by the 8th day it finally starts to get better and you will start to see the light under the tunnel. Long and lengthy recovery I must say but so worth it after dealing with this for many years.
