I'm so very happy with my 2nd BA from Dr Metcalf and Dr Popp (working together), going from 360cc saline to 800 silicone. But, it's been a number of years and it's time for an XL upgrade. Considerations: going back to saline, overfilled to 1250-1400 range; extra high profile; donut mastopexy; strattice for extra support and height. When I see pictures of donut lifts I get scared about long healing times and scarring. I welcome your suggestions for those that have been through these procedures with XL implants Updated on 27 May 2022: My goal photos all seem to have Ultra High Profile implants. What experience has anyone had with these? Do you like them? Do they jut out too far? I like that they would enter the room before i do - lol.
I have always had smaller breasts and wanted to get them done before i got married in 2019 so I looked around for some doctors and I went to a couple different consultations and the other doctors felt rushed but when I made a consultation with Dr Metcalf and his staff it wasn't rushed he answered all my questions. I tried on multiple sizes and he did measurements to make sure that I didn't go to large and it was proportional with my body. Which I'm 100% grateful for. I went from a small 34b to a 34d I love them. He is amazing surgeon. Him and his staff made me feel very comfortable and he even gave me his cell phone number he's in case I ever had any questions. The consultation was free after surgery you go in the next day he checks everything out. I had a baby recently and after I had my baby I even went back to check on the "girls" he said they still look great and whenever I'm done having children if I want to come back he can help me fix them if they need to be. But he says I probably won't need them fix. Him and his staff are very caring I highly recommend going to him. ***i had them done in July of 2019*** this website will only let me post two years ago so don't mind the date on the top please.
I have always been small chested and whatever breasts I had before I had my son, completely sagged and left me looking like a sad prepubescent girl. So, I did my research and found Dr. Metcalf--who in turn, gave me the exact breasts I was supposed to have. Best decision ever. If you're thinking about doing this, do it!
A Dr. Metcalf is the most amazing surgeon I had ever used! It’s been 25 years but my breast are perfect I’m going to have to go back to him to remove them only cuz Pfizer has done a recall on my model. I have gotten hundreds of compliments on them. They are still so perky! He might be older but he’s a bad ass!
Wow... I can't believe I finally did it! I've wanted a BA since I started having children. I've breastfed 4 children, and my breasts were deflated. I never felt comfortable wearing low-cut tops, or cute/trendy clothes. I had surgery 4/13/2021 with Dr. Metcalf in Oklahoma City. We had a phone consultation prior because I lived so far away. Once I got to the office, I filled out paperwork and got taken to the back where Dr. Metcalf and his staff had me try on sizes, and discussed all the details with me. I chose 420 CC. He said UHP over the muscle would suit me best. NO LIFT WAS NEEDED, which was AWESOME. He took his time taking my measurements, and looking at my inspiration photos, which I thought was so great since several other surgeons I had consultations with before rushed through the entire appointment. He marked me up, and the nurse walked me back to surgery! I woke up and was in the hotel, I don't remember ANYTHING. Thank goodness my mother had accompanied me on this trip. The doctor called me on his cell phone the night of surgery and a week later to check in with me. I love how he makes his patient's well-being his priority. During my one-week phone call with him, we spoke for about 15-20 minutes going over what he expects me to do as far as taking my meds, wearing a supportive bra AT ALL TIMES, etc. He viewed photos of how I'm looking and said they are looking good, but they will change a lot over the next few weeks-months. I'm so happy with how my breasts look now. It's the perfect size for my petite body, they are perky, round, and SQUISHY (They never were). So far, it's been a scary but amazing decision to bring back my confidence. I feel like a woman now. I'll keep providing updates on here throughout my journey. In case anyone else is looking to enhance their breasts. Ask any questions, i'll be happy to help. :)
He is a wonderful Doctor I would recommend and refer him to all my friends and family keep checking up on patient for any concerns or complications, but there was none everything went smoothly I wish there were more doctors like him. He is never in a rush and takes his time with patients.
I had previously had my breasts done 2 times by Dr. Palin in Jacksonville, Fl. Dr. Palin implanted the wrong implants, he used moderate profile instead of high profile and 3 months post op of the first augmentation I had sever bottoming out. I discovered his mistake and had to argue with Dr. Palin to get him to agree to fix his mistake, he replaced the implants with the ones he and I had originally agreed upon and claimed to have corrected the bottoming out, although immediately post op the 2nd time with Dr. Palin it was obvious that he had not. Both of my breasts were left with severe bottoming out and scars that were very visible due to the bottoming out. My left breast was 3 centimeters lower then my right. A friend of mine referred me to Dr. Metcalf and I had a phone consultation with him, we spoke for 30 minutes at least and he assured me he could fix this for me. I have to admit I was scared by his age, but there was something that kept bring me back to him when choosing which surgeon to use, that was his experience, he is after all the oldest practicing plastic surgeon in the United States, also his compassion for my situation. I did read somewhere that he is shaky and this is not true, I asked his nurse about this and she told me he has a gait/limp from a injury when he was 19, well before he even went to medical school. He does have a gait, but his hands are not effected by this as his office has his own artwork throughout and the details are too fine for a shaky hand, we can also assume he doesn't do his surgeries while walking lol. He also provides the bra, he gave me three, supplements to help keep your breasts soft, all medications were included in the price, and he makes himself available at any hour. I woke up on day 2 with a bad taste in my mouth and went in to see him, I had thrush from the antibiotics, he even gave me the medication for that for free. I can't tell you how different my experience with Dr. Metcalf was, I think he is a little more caring because he used to practice family medicine as well. Updated on 27 Dec 2013: He said he would call me everyday for the next two weeks, he called on Christmas! He is simply amazing, he really loves what he does and get enjoyment out of helping someone Updated on 19 Jan 2014: He is amazing and I can't tell you how happy I am with my breasts. I firmly believe he is the best surgeon to go to for breast implants. I hadn't been able to go to the beach due to my disfigured breasts from my first two breasts augmentations that were botched. You can see my review for my previous surgeon in my profile. Dr. Metcalf didn't even charge me extra for the corrective work. I will attach some pics, but please keep in mind I took these myself and although they may a Pear crooked, it's just the angle of the photo, my breasts are perfect! So happy with them! Dr. Metcalf also does his breasts augmentations with a guarantee that if your not happy he waves operating fee's for future surgeries. He is a man that stands behind his work!
BUYER BE WARE! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! I Had my implants redone in August, he did NOT do the lift agreed on NOR did he correct the size difference in my breasts since I lost weight! He incompetently replaced my implants with the WRONG size I already had with me 6 months later looking completely lopsided and a cup size off, just like I was when I came in! After agreeing in writing to correct his mistake, I was told no “he didn’t want to” now and he screamed at me and hung up on me instead of being a professional! He’s 84 years old and can barely stand during the consultation, which should have been my first red flag! The incompetence and lack of care, accountability and professionalism makes this a bad move ! He used to be a great surgeon who actually cared about his patients! I was a repeat client! Now? I’ll be reporting your conduct to the proper medical boards! Do NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR! I can’t believe I trusted this man after having such a bad experience years ago in Dallas, with a different surgeon who gave me MRSA!
After having my third surgery performed by Dr. Metcalf I’m still not satisfied and regret going to him just because of the price. On my first surgery he went 90cc bigger on my left because my left one was a tiny bit smaller. Turns out he went too big and that’s when my second surgery took place. The left side cause a capsular contracture which means my body rejected the implant and formed a tissue around it. That’s when the third surgery took place, after he removed the tissue that surrounded the implant he just took a bigger implant and placed it in. Now I’m left with the implant that no only looks fake but feels horrible since I don’t have any tissue surrounding it.Please please don’t go to this doctor because of the money, at the end I didn’t saved any money.
6 months post op, started noticing a mild double bubble at about 2 weeks post op. Told him about my concerns, he said he didn’t see it & to let him know if it changed. It’s continuously gotten worse, & I’ve kept him updated with pictures. Saw him yesterday about it & he said it’s mild double bubble, but should “continue to improve for up to 2 years after surgery.” He also said I may have mild capsular contracture of the same breast. He didn’t give me instructions, nor medication for capsular contracture, or even tell me what to do from here. When I asked about a revision, he said he would do it, but wants almost full price to do it. He’s only willing to give me a discount of $500 from his price of a breast augmentation. His website states he has a “lifetime warranty” for all of his patients, and waives his surgeons fee, and all I’m responsible for is the implants, OR, and anesthesia. When I asked his billing lady for a breakdown of the revision fees, she told me they don’t do that. He literally laughed as I was expressing my concerns, knowing I drive over 3 hours one way to see him. I’m now looking for a new doctor for my revision.
