After considering cosmetic surgery for decades I finally made the decision to look into tummy tuck and breast augmentation surgery late last year. Plastic surgeons are limited in Cairns and I completed extensive homework about all surgeons in the area and their work. What appealed the most to me is Dr Hertess is female - I still believe this makes the difference between knowing a woman's motivation/wants/needs as apposed to a man. Please note this is a personal choice - I'm not saying male surgeons are not competent. I just believe a woman knows a womans nuances and understands on a deeper level. The process so far has been professional and thourough. If you want professional, logical and practical service you will get it from Cairns Plastic Surgery. If you want hand holding and good feels go elsewhere. This is a professional business that is aimed to give you the results most suited to you... not the dreams/wishes of little girls and boys. Updated on 27 Sep 2022: Before surgery...... As you can see very saggy breasts and large belly despite exercise and diet. Never able to have a flat stomach due to the separation of my stomach muscles. Two appointments in the clinic prior to surgery, identified I needed a breast lift (maxopexy) as well as augmentation as well as a small amount of liposuction when I recieved my abdominoplasty - I opted to have both surgeries at the same time - 6 hours of theatre time. Updated on 5 Oct 2022: My stomach is still swollen however reducing slowly. I've stopped wearing the medical compression garment and started wearing full control briefs to and support bras - I was allergic to the seams of the medical compression garment. Also too hot and uncomfortable. Still have some areas that are scabby but all in all the wounds are healing wonderfully. Some stitches were left in - I took them out myself and the end of one of the internal stitches poked through the skin, I also trimmed that off. Would like the swelling to go down more however I keep forgetting it's not even 3 weeks since the operation!!!! Very happy so far.
Very happy with Dr Hertess and her team. Professional, attentive and supportive specialist, always within the reach after the treatment to support her patients. Thank you for looking after me! Kristina
Being naturally flat chested, I came to the decision in my mid 20s that I wanted to go ahead with breast augmentation. I hardly filled an A cup and wanted something that would give me a filled out B, nothing too large as I have a small frame. A family member had gone to see Dr Isolde Hertess and had a highly recommended experience & outcome. I booked in for a consult with Dr Hertess and her team and was not disappointed. Everyone was caring and professional, and informative regarding my queries. Dr Hertess recommended around a 200CC size for my body shape and ideals, the final size to be decided in theatre depending on my breast cavity. She advised a Motiva round Demi-projection implant would give me a fuller look in the upper breast, whilst still maintaining a natural and perky appearance. She was truly amazing to talk with and I felt relaxed knowing I was in good hands. As she works from both Cairns and Gold Coast I had the option to stay locally or fly down to GC (although Dr Hertess kept her prices low the anaesthetist and room pricing were about $2500 more expensive to have the operation performed locally) however I decided it would be easier post-op to have it done in the same city. On the day of my surgery Dr Hertess and her nurse Alison came in to see me whilst I was waiting in hospital and made sure I was comfortable and addressed any further questions and illuminated the process. I was introduced to the anaesthetist, everyone was lovely. After surgery I woke up and peered down at my chest and couldn’t believe I had breasts for the first time in my life! It was a very emotional moment for me. I found out that the implant size best suited to me was a 215CC and I couldn’t be happier, even though they were hard and swollen I loved them already. I recovered well, getting past the initial 2 weeks was the hardest part due to pain and feeling crappy from the painkillers but everyone at the clinic were great and super caring at all my post-op appointments. So fast forward over 2 months and my breasts have settled marvellously and continue getting softer and dropping into their position (I hear this can take up to 6 months). One side dropped quicker than the other, but I’m told this will even out over time. All in all, I am so SO happy I decided to get implants. They’ve changed my life, and they feel so naturally part of me now I can’t imagine myself without them. Dr Isolde Hertess exceeded my expectations and gave me the breasts I’d always envisioned for myself.
Dr Hertess is such a knowledgeable professional in her field with a lifetime of experience and know how second too none. She has a professional understanding like no other, with an approach that nothing aside from the ideal outcome would be acceptable, a true perfectionist with a kind, knowledgeable personality who easily puts to rest any nerves you could have approaching surgery.

I had a labiaplasty 2 weeks ago with Dr Hertess. I initially researched surgeons in Cairns, Brisbane and Melbourne however I live in Cairns and preferred not to have to travel . I also wanted to have my labiaplasty done under a local rather than general. I had an initial consultation with Dr Hertess where she examined me and gave me time to discuss what I was hoping for and answered all of my questions. I'm very happy with the results and now wish I'd had this surgery earlier as I've been very self conscious about my long protruding labia since I had children 25 years ago. The procedure was quick and relatively painless and the staff were discreet and supportive- I drove myself home and had three days off work just using ice packs, panadol and brufen for pain relief. I had no bruising and minimal swelling. My only concern was that initially one side looked much bigger than the other however after a week most of the swelling was gone and now at two weeks I look neat and symmetrical and have very little swelling left, my stitches have dissolved and I and have no discomfort at all. I paid 30-50% less for the procedure than I would have for any other surgeon I'd made enquiries with and the whole experience has been very positive. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr Hertess for this procedure.
To restore lost volume in breasts due to pregnancy/breastfeeding.
Loss of breast tissue after 4 children.
I had a blephoplasty to enhance my face. My eyelids were almost on my eyelashes. I look fresh and the procedure has opened my eye area. My face looks fresh and natural. Thank you Dr. Hertess. My procedure was problem free and my recovery was fast without any side affects. The suture line healed well and my follow-up appointment with Dr. Hertess was very helpful and reassuring. All in all I am extremely satisfied with the results of my blephoplasty.
Hyaluron filler is a synthetic collagen that is injected into the face to replace lost volume due to aging or to correct facial lines and wrinkling. The results are immediate and temporary until the product is dissolved in 6 to 12 months. Sculptra on the other hand is a bio-stimulator that promotes production of your own collagen. It corrects volume loss rather than correcting lines and wrinkles. The result of injecting Sculptra is not immediate and it is achieved at 3 to 6 months later after 2 to 3 consecutive injections. The end result is permanent until further aging continues.
Thank you for your insightful question. The breast fold (infra mammary fold) is an important structure of the breast. If it has been lowered with your implant surgery it can certainly be reconstructed after explant surgery. Be sure to ask your surgeon about how this can be achieved for you. Also it might be helpful to view your surgeons before and after photos.
Naproxen is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It may thin the blood and cause you to bruise after having botox injections. Make sure to discuss taking Narpoxen with your injector.
Cohesive gel implants are now considered a medically safe option. The advantage over saline implants is that the breast feels more natural with a gel implant. Whether the implant is placed over or under muscle is a surgeons personal preference. I myself prefer that the implant is placed under muscle, a more natural look can be achieved that way.
It is always so hard to picture what your breasts will look like after an augmentation. With your choice of implants and position you seem to have given you a nice result. Your breastss are fuller, your cleavage has improved and your breasts after augmentation still look natural. That's my opinion but you may have different thoughts and expectations that you have not expressed.
