It may take up to 6 months to have the incision areas look like the neighboring skin. Anytime one has trauma or surgical incision, it could take several months for the wound to mature. I see that you have obvious visible incision sites, I would not call scars at this time. Everyone behaves differently to the same surgical undertaking and I would not recommend any surgical intervention at this time and&nbsp;advice conservative approaches to mask the incision sites. It is possible that with time, these surgical incision sites may blend-in with your natural skin lines. Since I did not see your pre-operative photos, it is difficult to make any judgment calls about the approach your surgeon had to take to address your upper eyelid hooding problem. In any case, follow up your surgeon's advise, I am sure you had your faith in your surgeon's abilities before you decided to have the operation. Good luck to you and I am sure, with time you will be more satisfied.

I am 5.5 weeks post op from upper Bleph. I did have a hooding problem but I did not know that my incisions would be across the middle of my eyelids. My right incision has spread apart leaving a recessed area. I hesitate to put any makeup on these scars because the outside area is still tender and I don't want to cause damage while washing makeup off. I am currently using light vaseline with warm compresses and hiding behind big glasses. Any input is appreciated.

From the pictures which you have provided, I could not determine your marginal reflex distance (MRD1). This is very important to see if your upper eyelids droopiness is also causing your visual fields defect beside making you look older and "madder," as you state. Upper eyelid lift definitely can help with enhanced brighter appearance and may improve visual field as well. One has to examine you to determine what kind of options can be used to address your concerns.

i look older than what i try to lift my eyelids up and see could it stay that way but it comes back than it makes me look madder and tired my parents all ready approved of me getting surgery for it but i am just worrying could i get a eyelid lift

Depending how long ago you had a sling placed and what kind of sling you had. Sometimes, scaring around the sling can form and even if the sling is removed, eyelid elevation with frontalis use can continue to occur. On the other hand if you had silicone sling and it is recent, chances are that your eyelid ptosis will recur and you may not have down-gaze eyelid tightness or retraction after the sling is removed.

	Have you been given a choice of doing bilateral levator dis-insertion and then sling on both sides. You may consider looking into that option.

	Any oculoplastic doctor can work on your eyelid after the previous surgeries.

I am thinking of getting the whole tf sling[silicone] surgery undone . I was just curious if undoing the surgery will restore will downward gaze , I mean no more lid lag . LPS excision has been also done , will that have some effect if undo the surgery .. or things will get back to how i used to be before the surgery ? If after undoing I again want to go for the surgery by another doctor .. will it be complicated then ?

Your photos shows that you do have minimal skin fold when your eye is closed. When your eye is open you do have mild lower eyelid retraction which makes your eye fissure appear more wider than it is.

	One may consider removing the upper eyelid skin fold if it causes significant concern. On the other hand you may consider awaiting couple of years before resorting to re-do. In my opinion, you are better off having less skin removal than having too much at one time. I am sure your doctor made the marking based on how much extra skin you had to be removed. In some patients, there is more relaxation of the skin after the procedure and that can be addressed in future. I believe that it is better to remove less and remove more if needed rather than removing too much and then using skin graft to help with complications of eye exposure.

Well hello. So i had upper bleph 6 month ago and i had posted here before 3 month after surgery because wasnt happy with the results and now 3 month later I am still very disappointed. when eyes closed there is still skin drooping down especially on the inside of my eye and when my eyes are open there is still not much eyelid visible (open eyelid is what i was going for) I had bleph without muscle or fat removal, so I was wondering if those should have been removed or if i need another bleph...

Eyelid surgery requires skilled hands and epicanthal folds demand precise measurements before any surgery is contemplated.

	In your case, one has to be careful in proceeding to the next step since you have two new issues now in addition to the recurrent epicanthal folds. I wished you had waited as with timing you wound have some of the over corrected epicanthoplasty relaxed. Since you have now ectropion, one needs to be careful and create incisions where existing scars can be eliminated and ectropion be corrected at the same time. Scar occurrence can be further reduced by using prolene sutures and removing within 5-6 days after the surgery and using weak steroid cream.

I had epicanthoplasty 1 year ago &amp; distance between eyes became too close, so I had epi reversal (restoration) done 3 months ago, but was overcorrected &amp; eyes are now too small and distance betw eyes are 2 far. due to surgeries, have developed Ectropian and am concerned about health detriments and cosmetic issue. also have minor scarring that hasnt disappeared from last surgery 1) can i repeat epi surgery WITHOUT cutting more skin (no more skin/scarring issue) 2) How can ectropian be repaired?

	Swelling varies depending on how long after the fractures repair was done and how long it took to repair. Also depending on the medications you took before the surgery can also affect healing process. Overall, you appear to have a very satisfactory results after the orbital fractures repair and I believe you will have even less swelling and improved look as the swelling decrease.

I had an orbit reconstruction surgery two weeks ago to address medial and orbital floor fractures. The swelling is slowly going down. I would like to ask someone who had a similar surgery how long it took for the swelling to go and if the lower eyelid looked somehow tight and stretched. I am attaching a photo. Dark circles around the eyes can be very frustrating for the patients as well as the doctors. One may consider doing limited blepharoplasty by carefully separating orbicularis from overlying skin and only removing part of the thin skin. It can stretch the thin skin and help with bringing in more collagen and tightening the area. Perhaps this procedure may help with eliminating dark circles. In young person one has to be very careful by not taking too much of the eyelid skin along with orbicularis as it will lead to their corneal exposure and significant discomfort. &nbsp;

I am a 24 year old south asian female and I have hereditary Dark circles which are hollow and pigmented. I've had them since forever. I've tried many things. The doctor told me nothing can be done, I've tried creams, fraxel laser treatment, &amp; recently used a filler but it's still dark &amp; I think it looks worse. I wear makeup all the time &amp; never leave the house without it. I hate wearing make up every day. It affects my confidence! Pls help! is there is a way to surgically get rid of them.

Blepharoplasty requires experience and skills to carefully remove only what is an access of eyelid skin without causing exposure of eye globe. Depending on the time how long you had surgery, some laxity of the skin may occur after the first procedure. Since eyes are very sensitive to exposure if not properly covered, one should be careful not to remove too much of the skin. It is always better to remove less than removing too much during the first procedure. It is easy to remove more skin if needed than removing too much and facing complications as every patient has different level of tolerance to exposure of their eye surface.

	In your case, one may consider revision surgery that may include raising of the lower eyelid to help with scleral show. One may also need to check for your thyroid gland status, as some eyelid retraction may occur due to the underlying thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy.

After my e blepharolasty surgery, now, I have more eyebags than before, my eyes look down and sad,hollowness and I have a little sclera under my left eye and shadows. I talked with some doctors in Rome Italy, and they said the incision he did throw down instead of up and remove too much. One of them sayd that can be correct with a new surgery with cantopexy , fat implantation and repositioning , and browns lift. What do you think? Thank you for your gentle reply.

Asking that question is so common as&nbsp;lot&nbsp;of patients would assume after couple of weeks that this is it and that is the scar will be there but I would wait at least 6 months as that is how long it takes to completely heal from the eyelid surgeries as now you are still having&nbsp;swelling and&nbsp;redness&nbsp;&nbsp;after the procedure .&nbsp;

Also Please Tell Me if Lower Lids Need to Be Fixed. I am 7 weeks out from surgery for mid face lift and bilateral upper and lower eye lid tucks with mid face suspension, and neck and jawline. My Dr. Would like to fix asymmetry of face and at the same time fix scar on my right upper lid made during surgery. Is it too early to perform any surgery on my eyes? I am also not happy with the amount of lower eyelid visible. Is this normal?
