I was really scared from surgeries I see comments and references about this clinic and then contact with their consultant Busra about the process. I did deep plane lift and Liposuction in there. I wasn’t sure at first to have both in same visit but when I dd a consultation with the doctor Karaca we decided that it will be totally fine. So I had both liposuction on my abdominal and had deep plane face lift. I am 47 but I look 7 years younger my family members and friends did not recognize me at first it was such a joy. I really appreciate dr Karaca for his good work. I am so glad. And for the process firstly; The team was in contact with me throughout the whole process. First day they take me from airport to hospital to give my tests after day I had my operation my doctor Karaca was really kind and confirmed my concerns about my face.. After the operation their nurse Burcu was taking care of me from hospital to my hotel. I don’t have really big pain or negative affect from the operation. Whole process was so smooth. I feel like a celebrity. My hotel was nice and I really liked it. Our room was so nice Istanbul has such a New York vibe especially where my hotel was. In the last days me and my sister explored the city too and I LOVED IT!. I am now enjoying my new appearance I feel so good thanks to whole team they work very smooth. Well done!
I was very cautious about having surgery especially for my face, and my contact walked me through it all. She was friendly and helpful, calming my nerves and assuaging all of my fears. Dr Karaca Basaran is a great surgeon and he is very knowledgeable. He suggests what is best for you and explains everything so you are aware of what is going to happen.I couldn't have managed without the ladies at the hospital who were all so attentive and helpful, and I am grateful for them. The driver, Neco, was extremely friendly and one of the best we had, despite the fact that all of our drivers were extremely helpful and friendly. Mayclinik. What can I say….. what a great experience. While in the U.K. , I sent photos to them regarding some work I wanted doing and within a few hours I had an online consultation. Prices. Descriptions. Details of what they could do and also recommendations of other work they could suggest at the same time.I was absolutely delighted with Selina who was my liaison while I was in the U.K. she booked everything. Arranged everything. Transfers. Hospital visits. Clinic visits. Covid 19 tests for flying home. She was fantastic and always on hand whenever I called or whatsapped her. Really comforting to have that support available. I could not have been happier with her. I landed on Wednesday. Pre op on Thursday. And Friday I had my 6 hour operation.The surgeon spoke perfect English and explained everything to me in the pre op Assessment. He again was brilliant. Funny. Good sense of humour. And very gifted surgeon. He made me completely at ease about all the work I was getting. After the operation there was two days in hospital. Again no issues. I was fed by the nurses. Walked and spoken to. On the Sunday it was back to the hotel for 6 days rest until I go back to the clinic to have stitches out and bandages removed (which is tomorrow).During my six days at the hotel I had the most wonderful nurse assigned to me. Her name is Burcu. What an absolutely beautiful person both inside and out. Such a caring lady. Spoke perfect English. Visited me at least twice a day. Lots of knowledge. Funny. Loves her job and really knows how to make her patients feel at ease. It should have been difficult being in a foreign country where not many people speak English and you’ve just had major surgery.But honestly having Burcu with me while I was recovering has definitely helped my recovery to speed up . She is an incredible human being and I am happy and proud to have met someone who made my journey so much easier. Without her I can only imagine how stressed and confused I would have been during my 6 day recovery. I can not begin to thank her enough and if Mayclinik read this review…. Please give her a pay rise as she represents your company so well.I have already seen the results of one of the surgeries I had and I am so happy with the results already. Honestly. If you’re having surgery in Turkey….. use Mayclinik. You will not be sorry. Thankyou for everything you have done. It’s changed my life.
What a life changing experience. Million thanks Mayclinik If there is more than 5 stars I would have given it to Mayclinik . I had my surgery on Sept 9 2021 I flew from Los Angeles to Istanbul to a country ( beautiful country by the way ) I have never been to alone without any of my family members just because I trusted doctor Karaca Basaran and his staff . I live few miles away from the best Beverly Hills doctors none of them use doctor Basaran technique I have at least Dozen Consultations with well known doctors around me non of them managed to gain my trust with their technique my scar would have been visible after the surgery and the doctors will leave it up to your body and how you heal .I had facelift neck lift upper and lower eyelid lip lift it has been 17 days I am so happy with the results my scars are all invisible all well hidden inside my ear , I look like myself just years younger . I contacted Seline at first she was so organized and professional she arranged for everything through out my trip . I can’t thank enough everyone through out my life changing journey .Selina of course for arranging every step of the way . Nijmeldeen (the driver ) he was so polite and respectful. Nizle and Damla Mayclinik nurses they were super sweet caring and gentle.. All the hospital nurses for an amazing after surgery care . and last but not least my angel Burcu Karaagac my nurse at the hotel she took care of me physically and emotionally even when I was about to feel home sick she managed to make me feel so at home as if I was with my own daughter. Honestly Usually when the doctor is that great and have an amazing system he and his staff would be extremely Arrogant but not this doctor nor his staff. Disclaimer: this is my personal experience. In March 2022 I had a revision facelift, necklift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, temporal lift, and buccal fat pad removal with Dr Karaca Basaran at Mayclinik. The price was supposed to include all procedures, hospital fees, accommodation, transfers, and nursing care at the hotel plus aftercare. The “Clinik” was offering a five star surgery, a they put it. Also, Dr Basaran had told me in online consult that he has wide experience of revisions especially. I was hoping to improve my midface that had lost volume, and improve my previously quite nice jawline that was damaged by my previous surgeon. I was supposed to have my in person consult with the doctor before the surgery when I arrived to Istanbul. It was chaos; several people rushed into my room and started to take my photographs and at the same time the anesthesiologist was trying to ask about my medications and previous surgeries. They tried to take an EKG, but the machine did not work. Everything at the same time. Nobody spoke English. I was yelled at, and everything was very chaotic. I started to feel dizzy and confused and very stressed. I didn’t want to have a surgery in this atmosphere. Then the doctor Basaran arrived. I was already in tears as the situation was so scary. The doctor asked what I wanted to be done. I was surprised, I thought he knew our plan as I had sent a detailed e-mail listing all my issues and hopes for the surgery plus my previous surgery notes and we had had a recent online consult. He seemed very busy and distant. He then draw some markings on my face, took me to a mirror and shortly explained what he was planning. Then he suggested I should have a corner lip lift as I wouldn’t be happy with the facelift without it. He said this would leave very tiny scars and that they are basically invisible, and benefits would be great. Then he left the room. He had barely spent ten minutes with me. However, he said he was going to give me a heart-shaped face and lift everything, and after that I would look 10 years younger, and I would be very happy with my decision to have a surgery with him. Unfortunately, I trusted his words, and let them start the surgery. After the surgery I spent two days at the hospital. The experience was very stressful. I was supposed to get some ice to my operated eyes for every hour but that never happened. It was also very difficult to get soft food as I wasn´t allowed to eat solids. When I tried to ask for these, dr Basaran yelled at me that there were 15 patients at the ward and the nurses couldn´t be serving me all the time. I was dumbfounded; I paid a lot of money for the luxury surgery experience and pristine care Mayclinik had promised and advertised. I was also bleeding quite heavily from my incisions and was forced to lay on my own blood for two days as the nurses were too busy to change the bedsheets or my bandaids. I was having so much pain I was worried but they didn´t care and refused any painkillers other than ibuprofen which did not help. Dr Basaran was busy and had no time to discuss. He told me we would have a lot of time later to talk about my surgery. Which we never really did as he was so busy all the time. I had two post-op visits at the clinic, both times the doctor spent maybe 5 minutes with me. I had a lot of questions but never got answers to most of them as he was so busy. I flew back home, still shocked of my experience, and bleeding. Nothing was like Mayclinik has told me before and I was starting to get worried about my results as well. I was still in pain and felt horrible. I had two short video calls with the doctor after getting home. I was having many complications, but he was very busy and just told me to be patient. When I was trying to say that I was worried about my scars getting atrophic he started to yell at me and even posted video of him yelling at me on the phone into his Instagram without my permission. I had severe pain below my left ear after the surgery, and after examination in my country, it turned out the nurse at the Mayclinik had not removed all my stitches; two of them had been left under the earlobe and the incision was not sealed properly because the stitches were disturbing the wound healing. This left big ugly open wound below my earlobe. When I complained, dr Basaran started to yell at me (again) that I should not blame the nurses. I didn´t – I blame him for not doing proper post-surgery check-ups. I was also worried about my severely worsened eyesight. He told me not to see a doctor, because if I did, they would just call me crazy. I was trying to send further questions of my complications (eyesight, the ear, lumpy neck, severe nerve pain, horrible big scars on my face etc.) to the clinic but they never responded. I told them I must seek help elsewhere then, but this would mean going out in public and showing what they had done to my face. They never commented. So, I contacted online support groups and several facial experts who were quite concerned about my face and told me the scars needed to be treated immediately to prevent them getting worse, and then I would probably need a further scar revision at 6 months. At three months Mayclinik finally agreed to set up another video call. When I expressed my massive concerns, dr Basaran just kept saying “you look great”, ignoring all my issues. He absolutely refused to admit I had any problems and said I must wait until 6 months before taking any actions, even though all scar experts said scar treatment must start immediately, my eyesight was getting worse, and I had severe nerve pain. And the results did not look. In fact, I looked so bad that people were asking me what the hell was wrong with my face. When I tried to explain how people were shocked about my appearance and the facelift had zero effect, he started to laugh – there were also other Mayclinik staff in the room with him and they were all laughing. I reminded him saying I would “look 10 years younger and he would lift everything” just before my surgery. He just kept laughing and saying ”I never said that, I never said that”. Furthermore, he said my face actually cannot be lifted because of my genetics. But he had no problems saying just the opposite before the surgery and taking my money. I can assure you he never told me this before the surgery – so, I don´t know if he lied to me before or after the surgery; however he gave me completely different stories. Lies. I asked – now angry - if I need a lawyer to get a refund. He became aggressive, yelled at me that I will never get my money back and if I ever share my photos they will sue me. Then he hung up. The clinic then informed me that doctor won’t talk with me anymore, and they have not provided any kind of aftercare since. Please note that the clinic promised that if there are issues, the revision will be free of charge, and the doctor will of course perform it if needed. I was never offered any revisions. All lies again. So, I shared my experience online and the clinic attacked me, accusing me of creating fake profiles (which I never did of course, my own story is hard enough to tell) and then they shared my personal and medical information online and with other customers of theirs. This is illegal in Turkey, of course. They accused me of cursing and yelling at the doctor, but luckily I recorded the video call so I´m happy to go to court with that recording where dr Basaran is laughing at me and saying my face cannot be lifted and threatening me. I am now one year post-op. I have lot of sagging on face and several issues that made my situation much worse than what it was before my surgery with Mayclinik. The lip corner lift I was told should have turned out to be something else. “Tiny invisible scars” are 1 cm long massive incisions on both cheeks. They look awful and scary, and people keep asking me what kind of weird accident I have had. I never agreed to anything like this, and this dramatic operation was not described to me at all. I have spoken with several surgeons, including famous lip lift surgeon dr Mascaro, and they all agreed such big incisions should never be done, this technique is overall very rarely used as its very outdated. The doctors were in shock after seeing my mouth and many were asking who the hell did this to me (and now they know). The scars are so big no make up covers them. I would have never taken this surgery if I had known how it’s done by Basaran. I don’t know why they call it a ”lip lift” as my lips were not touched. It even says in my operational notes that he did 1 cm incisions to my cheeks - I never agreed to have such massive cuts on my face! When I asked to see similar patients, he sent me photos of women having tiny 2 mm invisible cuts – this is what I was told to he would do to me too, but instead he destroyed my mouth permanently. I will post some photos here of the issues I have. I will not post full-face photos so that the clinic won´t take them and edit them or share without my permission. In short, in addition to botched mouth, I have the following issues, confirmed by other experts: worsened vision in the right eye due to the too aggressive blepharoplasty. I can´t properly close my eyes and the scarring in the eyelids is really bad as the scars are constantly stretched when I try to close my eyes because too much skin was removed from the eyelids. I have nerve damage under my jaw and in the cheek area and I´m in pain every day. The doctor damaged my great auricular nerve, which also causes shock-like feelings around my face. Necklift scars are done too low and are very visible. My infected ear is badly scarred. In addition to all that I have now very sagging face – my friends and other doctors agreed that nothing was lifted, and my lower face looks very much wider and more masculine that before instead of heart-shaped face Basaran said he would give me. There are weird lumps and bumps on my face. The buccal fat pad removal was done badly and I have now sunken mid cheeks. I was willing to let them correct the issues, but they never acknowledged there were any. However, all these were confirmed by other experts. I´m happy to share additional photos upon a reasonable request. I post this review not as an advice but to share an experience. Updated on 18 Jun 2023: It has come to my knowledge that some people have asked Mayclinik about my RealSelf review. Which is fair and absolutely they should and are allowed do so. Mayclinik workers have told these people that Mayclinik has tried to contact me several times but I have not responded and they have been willing to help. This is an absolute lie. In May 2022 they sent me a threat letter refusing any revisions, I will add a screenshot of the letter here. They also have blocked and ghosted me and they have never tried to contact me since. I have tried to contact THEM several times, but as said, no response. I have sent them photos and videos so they know exactly how badly I was botched. I have attached screencaps of few of the messages I sent - you can see they have read them but never answered. I have to assume dr Basaran is not able to fix this mess he caused so no wonder he refuses any revisions. Or refunds.
Hello to all and please be very careful in Turkey ! I'm an ordinary citizen of the European Union and thought I don't know how to look for help in my case ,I write this review as a warning for other eldery Europeans who may fall into this trick. I was done a deep plane facelift in Istambul on the 11 October 2021. I sent all my photos on advance to Doctor Karacan at Mayclinik in Istambul . Immediately I received the most expensive procedure for my surgical procedure for that kind of improvements and for my age according to the amazing after photos they show on their website . Everything went well and the team of the clinic was very supportive . The doctor agreed according to my photos that this was the optimal procedure to get such results. Right after paying to this Mayclinik commercial agent I was given pre-surgery anesthesia pills at the hospital after which the Doctor of this clinic ( Dr. Karacan) showed up for the first time. To my surprise he said in my way to the surgery room that in my case the result will not be as great as in the after photos showed on their Mayclinik website. I was then very stressful about what to do as they were charging me 7.500 euros 8000 Dollars for something they were telling me in my way to the surgery room that it was not possible .I thought in that very moment it was a kind of a scam but I was too dizzy after taking the pre-anesthesia pills. So I said ok. After one month of the surgery back in Europe I was recovering from all the swelling but I did not see such an improvement after the first months.So I contacted this Mayclinik in Istanbul and they started with the excuses even if my photos were terrible . After 5 months of my procedure I look right the same as I was before but with 7.500 Euros less !!! .He just did some kind of cheap mini lift for the price of a big facelift according to a local plastic surgeon in Europe. My face now is already sagging after just a couple of months. He only did a mini facelift after my ears and a cheap endoscopic facelift which after just some months is already gone. I now really think this is a really a scam for Europeans wanting to have plastic surgery in Turkey. They charge you for the most expensive procedure they got and then they do a botched job for much the half of what you have paid. I really warn here elderly Europeans as me and Americans too before falling into this kind of trick through plastic surgery Turkish websites with lots of paid 5 stars reviews and wonderful after photos. I can not describe in words how you feel after 2 months after all your swelling is gone and you see yourself on the mirror just the same as before. Terrible experience in Turkey Updated on 25 Apr 2022: I was done a deep plane facelift by Dr.Karaca through Mayclinik in Istanbul on last October 2021. I sent my photos to the clinic so that the doctor could study my case and soon he sent to me the cost of a deep plane facelift and blepharoplasty as his final decision for my case which he knew was a revision.So he chose one of the most expensive procedures and more invasive procedures they offer. As on their website they show amazing after photos of men of my age with wonderful results. Everything went well until I paid the price of the operation to a clinic commercial of Mayclinik, then I was given some pills and right after that Dr.Karaca showed up in the room for the first time and started marking my face for the operation. At this point he said to me that in my case it would not be possible to get the the results of a deep plane facelift and that I will only get 30 percent out of the 100 normal percent showed on the photos of men of my age on their website. I was really astonished to hear this news on the bed in my way to the surgery. I thought it was very unprofessional from his part to say that to me in the very last moment and after paying.This in Europe is called a trick. He could have said that before paying and on time and I would have chosen another plastic surgeon, but it was now too late and I trusted him according to the many good reviews (then I found out that reviews can not be trusted in Turkey as they can be bought. That's is probably why they have such an amazing number of 5 stars reviews . None of 4 stars or 3 !.Many of them say just the same thing with the same words. Whenever there is a bad and real review they post 10 reviews after yours with 5 stars as you can check on my review on trust pilot...Scary !) After the procedure everything went well and I was taken care and sent back safely to Europe with my swollen face and bandages. You could really not see any final result but he insisted everything went well. To my surprise after 2 months waiting for my face to heal, I saw the results of the operation and they were a total disappointment. He just did a mini lift behind the ears and a cheap endoscopic facelift above the ears to hold my sagging face. As for the neck which was supposed to get my double chin shrinked he did nothing as you can see in my after photo. No change at all. I know think I didn't chose the proper surgeon. I have the feeling they just charged me for the most expensive procedure and really did a mini facelift which as you can see in my after photo is already sagging just after only 6 months ! Total disappointment .I just want to post my after photos here so no more Europeans are fleeced with expensive operations for such a poor results as you can see in my after photo.
