I came to Dr. Lehrer after being evaluated by another provider about having orthognathic surgery, I already decided I wanted to move forward and was in the process of straightening my teeth with Invisalign. He assured my we could move forward with the surgery despite not having conventional braces. Dr. Lehrer took my measurements and physically showed me what my new bite would look like with 3D printed models. I was impressed with the visuals and was eager to move forward. After surgery he was thorough in aftercare and was helpful with concerns I had. The results of my surgery could not have been better, truly. Down to the millimeter, my bite is perfect. I liked the way I looked before and didn't feel bad about my physical appearance, the purpose of the surgery was purely functional. I had spent months trying to find a surgeon to finish my orthodontic treatment - I needed double jaw surgery to correct an overbite, a misaligned bite, and a narrow jaw. My first consultation with Dr. Lehrer was fantastic - he walked me through what the surgery would be like, he was honest about the difficulty of recovery (which I greatly appreciated), and showed me exactly what would be altered during my surgery. The technology available in his office is incredible - I got to see a 3d print of my skull with my nerve endings, teeth, and joints mapped out, so I had a much better idea of how the surgery would go. The day of the surgery, he and Dr. Daneshgar met with me in the pre-operative room to see how I was doing. I was nervous, but seeing him and having him introduce me to the surgical staff made me feel much more at ease. He was very attentive before and after my surgery, on-hand to answer questions from my family and I, and visiting in the hospital to check on my recovery. It was a tough first week, as all jaw surgery recoveries are, but he gave me the confidence and will to take an active role in my recovery.I'm about six weeks following my surgery, and I could not be happier with my results. My bite is well-aligned, and my front and side profiles look incredible - I'm happy with my smile for the first time in my life. I had severe TMJ, to the point where I was more confident wearing a mask during COVID than without. That is the reason why I started searching for help.
