I've had numerous procedures, both medical and cosmetic at Haley Dermatology and Clear Medspa over the past 14 years. The physicians as well as every member of the staff always provide exceptional professional service. They're courteous, well trained and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure I'm comfortable with and fully understand every procedure and product. I had my first Halo treatment yesterday to my face, neck and chest. I'm excited to watch the results!
I was concerned about wrinkles and texture of my skin. I went to see Shirley at Haley Dermatology/Clear Medspa and she was awesome! She explained the treatment & healing in great length. I did the treatment and was very swollen and red on day2 but each day it got better and better. After 1 month it looked great! Loved the results! Tight skin and less wrinkles!
I was starting to notice some changes in my skin... wrinkles, rough skin, large pores. I had a lot of friends tell me that I needed to go visit Clear Med Spa. My experience was wonderful from start to finish. I went in for my consultation, the skin care specialist took her time and discussed all of my options. After going home and thinking about it, I decided on the Pixel treatment. When I got there, they put on some sort of numbing cream on my face. I was very nervous, the ladies there made me feel very at ease. During the treatment, it was a little uncomfortable, but the results were worth it. It took only about 6 days for my skin to recover. My skin is much tighter and smoother. I could not be happier!
The individuals at Haley Dermatology, as well as Dr. Haley were warm, kind, & professional throughout my entire experience. Shirley met with me twice & gave me her cell phone number in case I had any questions or concerns over the weekend before my treatment. After reading some negative press via the Internet I almost backed out; I am glad I did not! It's been a couple of hours since my procedure and I am fine. I can already see a change! Shirley was very thorough and explained everything she was doing through the whole process! I am very pleased!
I went to Haley Dermatology for a consult about my aging skin. Dr. Haley took a lot of time explaining my treatment options. Shirley did the treatment on my face and neck. She did a great job and I have loved my results. It took me about 5 days to recover, I had redness and swelling. My skin now is smoother and tighter.
My skin was very, very damaged. Therefore my two hour treatment with the solution was required. I had zero expectations for discomfort. Because of the extent of my skin damage, it hurt like hell when the light process was done. Immediately after the treatment I said that I would never have it done again. That has changed after two weeks. The results are fantastic! My skin has not looked like this in thirty years. The results merit the pain in my opinion. A couple of tips, during the solution marinating process, take something for pain. I will take two aleve and a large shot of scotch. Call me and I will discuss. Bottom Line, Worth It!
I am 33 years old. I originally had one session of IPL to correct very dark freckles/sun damage on my chest. The procedure was somewhat painful - like a snapping rubberband that is on fire. I had dark coffee ground-like spots on my chest for about 10 days after the procedure (they were VERY dark, I had to hide my chest with clothing), and on the 10th day, all of the sun damage just wiped away. Eight months later my results are still amazing! I hated showing my chest before with the sun damage, but now it looks perfect. A bonus was that I have some stretch marks on my breasts from being pregnant and the practitioner used the IPL on those too on the inside side of my breasts. Now I can wear bikini tops that show extra skin and my stretch marks don't show at all. They are still there but all of the redness went away, so they are now just flesh colored. Last month, the same spa (at my dermatologists's office) had another IPL special, so I signed up to have the procedure on my face. I have some mild red spots from acne scars, and shome shallow pitting (I currently break out monthly during my cycle) as well as some light sun damage from tanning in my 20's. After the procedure, I developed dark spots on my face as expected that lasted about 5 days. I could kind og cover the spots with make-up but they were definitely noticeable. I did return to work and just avoided seeing too many people during the day when possible. After 5 days, the spots washed away, and my results are just as amazing as they were on my chest. All of the redness is gone from my face, the shallow pitting has 99% disappeared, and my complexion looks amazing. I have always had "so-so" skin but now I am excited to put on make-up everyday. I had several friends have the same procedure at this spa, with great results, too. Someone told me before I had the procedure that this is how celebrities get perfect complexions, and now I can see thatmust be true. I will definitely go back every year or two to have this done again.
To improve my overall appearance. I had a permanent dent or furrow on my forehead between my eyes. It looked like I was always frowning. I went to Dr. H and she suggested using a filler (Restylane) to get rid of the dent and also using Botox to prevent any other wrinkles from forming. It worked GREAT! It has been a year and it still looks fine.
I had four Pixel treatments, starting in June this year. After my Pixel treatment, I look ten years older. It's been a couple of months and it's not getting better. I don't know what to do; my face is ruined. Con: My face is now crepey and wrinkled. See pictures. I wish I had known that others have experienced the same problems. How has it changed my life? I feel ugly now. Updated on 13 Nov 2012: Shirley was the passive aggressive technician, who did the Pixel. She was rude and dismissive, when I tried to tell her about my concerns. Updated on 17 Nov 2012: I realize now that I'm seeing little pixel holes in my face, rather than enlarged pores. Updated on 18 Nov 2012: I stopped using anything on my face the next day. Now, just Cereva Cleanser, antibiotics, and Elta MD moisturizer (petrolatum). My face is too sensitive. I'm waiting for the acne now. Updated on 20 Dec 2012: The damage has continued to progress. My chin has become increasingly disfigured, and I've lost volume in my face, most notably around my eyes. My face is much more wrinkled than before the Pixel "treatments." I first noticed a strange, new circular wrinkle on my chin. I discovered that, when I made an expression, the skin in that area would form a depression about the size of an eraser head. Later, it progressed to about the size of a dime and then another formed in the center and right side of my chin. I also still have tiny pixel craters all over my face. I'm hoping that the skin surface will improve over time, but I do believe that the volume loss and wrinkles are permanent. The MD offered no explanation for the damage, saying that she had many happy clients. Updated on 20 Dec 2012: They combined this Pixel "treatment" with Radio Frequency. They sell it as a package. Updated on 10 Mar 2013: It's been five months, since my damage. I have been babying my skin, using only sensitive skin sunscreen and Psoria Gold to reduce the inflammation. After I started using it, I began to notice some improvement. The acne that was caused by the chronic inflammation began to clear and these inflamed sores began to heal more nicely and with less pigmentation. My skin is still sensitive, and I still have the Pixel holes. It still looks more aged and wrinkled, but I've seen some improvement. I was told by another dermatologist that if I didn't bleed and ooze, then the Pixel holes should resolve over time. I also spoke to another woman, who was damaged (by the same MedSpa). Her Pixel holes resolved, but it took a year, and she never regained the volume under her eyes. Most disturbing is the disfigurement of my chin. I believe that this damage was caused by the RF. I wish that I had listened to my concerns. The heat from these lasers caused permanent damage to the skin cells; just like sun exposure. Research supports this. The heat and chronic inflammation damages the DNA. Bottom line: DON'T DO IT. It damages the skin. I used to look younger than my age. Now I cover my chin, when I talk and I avoid smiling, because of the damage to my skin. I'm not the only person that's been damaged like this. Updated on 13 Aug 2013: 9 months out from the first Pixel "treatment". My skin still is covered with tiny Pixel holes. There has been some improvement, but my skin is still more aged and damaged. The crepeiness, textural changes, and depressions have not resolved. Updated on 22 Jan 2018: Not a day goes by that I don't mourn the damage that they caused to my face. I know one person and met another who've been damaged in the same way by Haley Dermatology. The MD is indignent and unapologetic. Updated on 24 Sep 2018: Not a day goes by I don't regret this "treatment". My skin has improved, but I'm left aged. I lost my youthful fat and youthful appearance. Based on my experience and the experience of two others, I can not recommend Pixel laser "treatments" or Haley Dermatology Med-spa.
I had one pixel treatment under my eyes and they are much worse. I looks as though I have aged 10 years. My skin is much more dense causing it to sag. Pixel may be fine for acne scars, but it is much to aggresive for the delicate eye area. It is not worth it! Updated on 27 Jan 2009: Pixel was not worth it for me. I had one treatment under my eyes. It caused my eye lids to sag and left hollowness from fat loss. My eye lids are much worse. I am 45 years old. I looked 35 when I went to the med spa. I now look my age or older. I just wanted to improve the texture under my eyes.
Swelling is usually worse in the morning, so it can help to sleep with head elevated. Also antihistamines can help reduce the swelling, I recommend non sedating antihistamine, Zyrtec or Claritin, during the day and Benadryl at night.
I would advise to maintain your typical daily diet so the fat cells are stable. Coolsculpting is recommended for people who are close to their ideal weight and exercise regularly. It is not for weight loss. The fat cells will be destroyed by the freeze whether they are hydrated or not.
It is very hard to determine if people are good candidates for coolsculpting without actually seeing them. However, I have seen nice results in patients who have had liposuction in the past. I would encourage you to find a doctor in your area that has coolsculpting and seek a consultation. Often the consultation is free.
The ideal candidate for coolsculpting is someone who maintains a steady weight and exercises regularly. It does not reduce as much fat as liposuction, however it is noninvasive and very safe with no downtime. 20% reduction in the area treated is the expected result, some patients need to repeat the treatment to get further reduction.
In my practice, we do a second round of coolsculpting 2 months after the first session if needed. In our initial consultation, we assess each patient and give an estimate of the number of treatments that will be needed to reach their goal. We also try to give a time line for end results.
