Mr Dr Fairbanks is the best doctor I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! I wish he also practiced general medicine. He has re done my breast augmentation that was done 17 years ago. And today I did liposuction, and when he thinks it’s time he will do my face. I really do love this surgeon and his staff. They really do care about you and the results. He will be my plastic surgeon for the rest of my life- I really do wish he was my doctor for everything! You will not find a better plastic surgeon in Utah!
I went to Dr Fairbanks for a second opinion. I had an awful breast lift and implants one year ago by a well-known, board certified plastic surgeon. That surgeon left me with a GIANT scar and nipples not in the correct spot. I couldn’t wear bras or swimsuits without my nipples showing. I tried ALL kinds of bras. The experience I had with Dr Fairbanks and his staff have been PHENOMENAL. I had my implants removed, lift repaired, and nipples fixed 3 weeks ago. The entire experience was excellent. Things are already looking 1000x better. I can’t wait to see my full results and get new implants in by Dr Fairbanks.
Dr Fairbanks and his staff were great with my recent breast reduction/lift. I shopped around and did some homework and research on other surgeons prior to picking Dr Fairbanks. I feel that he is very skilled in this profession. My recovery was better than I expected and feel that my scarring will be minor due to the care that he took. I am saddened that he is closing his private practice and moving away, for I feel that Utah has lost the BEST!
5 years ago I had a horrible Breast Augmentation and Lift, (tons of complications). I was going to just be fine and accept what they were until I developed a capsule. After having such a horrible experience the first time considering a surgeon to repair and correct was super emotional and scary. When I found Dr. Fairbanks I was relieved to find someone who understood what I needed to get the results I wanted. I am 6 weeks post op with minimal scarring and an absolutely beautiful result! I never though I would be happy with my implants out but I was so wrong. I am now wondering why I felt the need to have such massive breasts in the first place. I would say that I am grateful and feel so fortunate to have found such a great surgeon. The amount of time and consideration he took to make sure I had the best experience was a breath of fresh air. I strongly recommend Dr. Fairbanks and will continue to use him in the future.
I had an amazing experience having plastic surgery - full facelift. The results are wonderful! Surgery went very well, recovery was fast and painless. Dr. Grant's skills and knowledge are amazing! He is at the top of high professionalism and he really cares about his patients. Everybody in his office are very nice, helpful, and professional. Now, six month after my surgery, I look 20 years younger.
I am absolutely thrilled with the results of my breast reduction surgery. He and staff have had consistent genuine care and respect for my wellbeing. He is a true artist and an amazing doctor. A truly amazing experience.
Fantastic experience. Very thorough before, during and after. I had no idea of what to expect from liposuction and Dr. Fairbanks took care of my every question, in great detail. I had consultations with other doctors and felt more like a patient than a person. Dr. Fairbanks was very kind and took extra time to ensure that I understood the reasons for a procedure of this type. I would strongly recommend this doctor to anyone.
Dr. Fairbanks did a breast reduction on me about 10 years ago. I had surprisingly little pain, and I have never regretted my decision. I was somewhat nervous about having the surgery, but Dr. Fairbanks was kind and professional, and I felt comfortable trusting him to take the best care of me. I have recommended him to others, and I will continue to do so. I wouldn't hesitate to go to him for any future needs.
Dr. Fairbanks has always been professional and was highly recommended by Dan Chichester MD. I have suffered from severe neck and back pain, numbness in my hands, difficulty sleeping, etc. for more than 16 years. I've been "busty" since sixth grade, but after the birth of my first child I went from a C cup to a G cup. I am only 5'3" tall with a little frame. Kind of a classic example of why this type of surgery is needed. The surgery went well and I followed his instructions to the letter. That means wearing a compression bra and socks and tape for healing. I did not lift anything until Dr. Fairbanks said I could. I would urge the doctor and staff to let patients know ( really stress ) the "major" restrictions after surgery. I'm glad I waited until my children were older and that I no longer have a yard. If I had this surgery with young children to care for and a household to maintain, I would have been in big trouble. (Most husbands just are not going to be great with "holding down the fort" ) Probably would not have healed as well as I have. A minimum of one week is needed but I would have been about useless if I had gone back to work that soon. I took two weeks for recovery. I also had an issue with clothing because the compression bra showed with every single article of clothing I had. That might not seen like a big deal, but it caught me off guard and I had to buy a lot of new clothing to wear to work. Things like that are really important to women. It's always the little details. My only negative with the entire experience was the pre-approval process and that has absolutely nothing to do with Dr. Fairbanks ability and skill. If I hadn't personally been involved with my insurance carrier it would not have been approved on time. My paperwork was sent to the wrong department and responses were not made on time. ( Caused a denial twice) In addition my surgery was schedule at a hospital that was not a par provider. I kept informing the office that they weren't. Two days before my surgery, I spoke to a different person that was able to get everything scheduled in a hospital that participated with my plan. That was all very stressful and very frustrating. But we got there in the end. That being said, I know that billing insurance is a courtesy, not a requirement. All patients need to help move the process along. It just was frustrating that I knew more about what was going on than the office.
My motivation was my daughter’s upcoming wedding. I was a bit nervous when I arrived, but office staff was so pleasant and supportive that I quickly felt completely comfortable. Dr. Fairbanks explained everything that was going to happen before he did it which made me feel at ease. I was surprised that within a few hours the redness went away and no one would have known that I had a procedure done by the next day! I was extremely happy with the outcome.
Every patient may have a different outcome depending on their anatomy and physiology. Different surgeons have different outcomes based on their technique. I have seen patients that are over 12 years from their deep plane facelift and still look younger when compared to their preoperative photographs. In my experience, the deep plane facelift has a better chance of lasting 10 years and longer. This is why the majority of my patients choose the deep plane facelift over the other options. Grant A. Fairbanks, M.D.
Several factors play into the answer to your question. A reputable plastic surgeon with proven results is a good start. The SMAS lift typically gives better and longer lasting results compared to the skin lift or mini lifts. The deep plane facelift typically gives a better and longer lasting result compared to the SMAS lift. Remember that plastic surgeons may have their own modifications of each technique. Most do this to get what they considered the better result. The other important factor is the patient with their age, quality of skin, and their medical history. In my experience, the facelift that is more extensive and takes more time usually looks better and last longer. Even though I offer the skin lift, this SMAS lift, and the deep plane facelift, the majority choose the deep plane facelift. Grant A. Fairbanks, MD
Both general anesthesia and local anesthesia with IV sedation provided facelift patient with good pain control and sedation. Most of my facelift cases are performed under local anesthesia with IV sedation. Patients note that they wake up easier than when they are under general anesthesia. I have the anesthesiologist use general anesthesia if we are concerned about breathing issues or if the patient specifically requests general. Grant A. Fairbanks, MD
The deep plane facelift is essentially an extended SMAS lift, dissecting deeper between this SMAS and the parotid gland. More of the SMAS is mobilized which allows for more lift. Along with the approximation of the platysma muscle in the neck, this gives a nice angle to the neck. The fat pad in the cheek is also lifted and secured over the cheekbone. The deep plane facelift allows for the SMAS to be repositioned which allows for the removal of more skin. The goal is to make you look younger without making you look like you’ve had a "facelift". I wish you success in your consultations and ultimate outcome. Grant A. Fairbanks, MD
The deep plane facelift is a great procedure for all ages of facelift candidates. The decision depends on the patient's anatomy and the patient's needs. The youngest I have seen was in a woman with premature aging in her early 30’s. I suggestion is to find a surgeon that provides good examples that you were pleased with. The ultimate decision for the type of facelift is between you and your experienced plastic surgeon. Best to you in your search. Grant A. Fairbanks, MD
