I had a Labiaplasty with Dr Konrat in Sydney 3 weeks ago. I did some research and found that the bulk of labiaplasties are done with either the trim (which I am not a fan of) or wedge technique. Dr Konrat has her own method called DOVE which seemed less brutal and she also specialises in labiaplasty whereas all of the other doctors in Sydney seemed to specialise in something else and do Labiaplasty surgeries just to make some extra money on the side. I’m very apprehensive of general anaesthesia. The fact that she had an option of conscious sedation piqued my interest and I decided to go for a consult. Her bedside manner is phenomenal. What made her different and set her apart in the beginning was the fact that she is friendly, approachable and HUMAN. Her method of labiaplasty isn’t merely lopping off the labia minora but in my case included an entire redesign of the vulva, including the clitoral hood and perineum which created a balanced symmetrical and natural look. For me the decision to undergo this surgery wasn’t a matter of wanting to “look perfect” or “look like porn”. I had severe labia minora hypertrophy since puberty which hampered my ability to live comfortably and exercise freely. On the same day of surgery I noticed an immediate improvement. I had very minimal pain and I credit her particular surgical technique and expertise for this. Now 3 weeks post op I cannot over emphasis the difference- when I look at how I was before vs now I genuinely feel it is night vs day. The entire area is unrecognisable yet she managed to cut and place the sutures where they won’t be noticed. It looks natural, harmonious and for the first time in many years I look and feel normal. I urge anyone who is considering having Labiaplasty done to speak to Dr Konrat and have their surgery through her. She is passionate about this procedure and the results speak for themselves.
