Procedures I'm known for

Rhinoplasty and Nose Shaping
My New Jersey practice is laser-focused on rhinoplasty surgery and nonsurgical rhinoplasty. I fix nasal cosmetic and breathing problems literally every day, and my expertise and passion for rhinoplasty have helped my patients live with greater confidence and self-esteem. People who are happy with their nose overall but have minor imperfections, such as a small bump or low bridge, may benefit from a nonsurgical nose job, using the permanent dermal filler Silikon 1000. Others who have issues like a larger bump and droopy tip may require surgery. My mission is to understand your concerns about your nose and determine the best approach to achieve a more pleasing, natural-looking appearance—along with better nasal breathing. I perform 99.9% of surgical rhinoplasties via the open technique, with a small incision on the underside of the nose. This approach greatly enhances my ability to see the anatomy, identify problems, and address them. The scar is well hidden and heals ridiculously well.
Fillers and Other Injectables
My expertise is with microdroplet Silikon 1000, a permanent dermal filler that’s a cost-effective, safe alternative to temporary hyaluronic acid-based gel fillers. I use this pure, medical-grade silicone oil exclusively. The most commonly performed procedures with Silikon 1000 are nonsurgical nose jobs. If people experience minor irregularities after previous rhinoplasty surgery, Silikon 1000 may be a safe alternative to revision rhinoplasty surgery, with no downtime. It may also be used for permanent lip augmentation, wrinkle treatment, facial volume replacement, hand rejuvenation, and more. Treatment with Silikon 1000 has also been life-changing for people with depressed acne scars whose skin tone is too dark to safely have laser resurfacing, dermabrasion, or a chemical peel. Procedures are painless with topical anesthetic, and you may resume normal activities immediately. Microdroplet Silikon 1000 treatments have a greater than 50-year history of safety, precision, and permanence.
Cheek, Chin and Jawline Enhancement
Chin Implant Surgery is a minimally-invasive, safe alternative to genioplasty surgery that strengthens a retrusive chin, and improves the appearance of your chin, jawline and neck. Neck Liposuction may be performed at the same time if you have unwanted deposits of fat. Chin Implant surgery is performed through a small, inconspicuous incision under your chin, and your operation takes around a half hour. Chin Implant Surgery may be performed with local anesthetic, and most patients resume normal social activities in around a week. Dr. Joseph offers Neck Liposuction Surgery to safely remove unwanted fat from your neck and jowls, and is commonly performed to permanently reduce a double-chin. If your neck appearance is bothersome, Neck Liposuction Surgery may be a more predictable and cost effective alternative to Kybella (deoxycholic acid injections). Dr. Joseph's innovative liposuction techniques can produce outstanding, beautiful results with less swelling and a shorter recovery period

RealSelf Q&A with Dr. Joseph

RS: What sets your practice apart?
EJ: Expertise. I’m highly specialized in all types of rhinoplasty procedures—primary, teen, revision, functional, and ethnic rhinoplasty surgery, as well as permanent nonsurgical rhinoplasty.

With rhinoplasty surgery, your surgeon’s experience is critical for achieving a favorable result. Rhinoplasty may be one of the most challenging plastic surgeries, and it’s best to get it right the first time.

Another point of differentiation is my expertise with the off-label use of the permanent filler Silikon 1000. It’s the only filler I use. Anything you can do with regular filler, you can do safely and effectively with Silikon 1000.

RS: What inspired you to become a surgeon?
EJ: Both of my parents are doctors, so it’s in my DNA. But the day I walked into the operating room, I was mesmerized. I knew part of my work as a physician was going to be in the OR.

RS: How did you decide to specialize in rhinoplasty?
EJ: I did a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery with a world-renowned rhinoplasty specialist. We did over 150 rhinoplasties together, and I caught the bug. I love rhinoplasty, and I’ve figured out a technique that works. As a result, I have more than the average surgeon’s number of positive reviews.
I also have one of the largest before-and-after galleries of rhinoplasty surgery on the Northeast corridor. I pride myself on posting every view of every patient—not just the best one.

RS: What’s your practice like?
EJ: We’re a four-person shop, and our goal is to treat you like a member of our family. When patients come to my office, it’s a very intimate experience. The first and only medical professional they see is me.

RS: How would you describe your approach to plastic surgery?
EJ: Cautious. I’m a conservative surgeon who favors a nonsurgical approach whenever possible, reserving surgery as a last resort. For each of the 100-plus surgical rhinoplasties I perform in a year, I do three times as many nonsurgical rhinoplasties.
