I am a 5 foot , 58 year old woman and was a 34DD. After debating for over a decade , I finally decided to take the plunge. My experience with Dr. Culbertson and Rachael has been very satisfactory. Dr. Culbertson is a very meticulous and thorough surgeon and I am pleased with the results so far. I am healing still and will end up as a near C cup which is where I wanted to be. The scars are fading fast and the doctor's expertise is clearly visible in the way the stitching was done. More than anything, I appreciate the gentle and quiet listening manner of Dr. Culbertson and recommend him highly.
I'm 5'10, about 170 pounds and currently a small b cup. I'm so conflicted between going for 500cc moderate or maybe something smaller. I don't want to look too boobalicious and have it be very apparent that I've had work done, but it seems like opting smaller can tend to look more fake due to gravity not dropping them as much. I have a small waist and bigger bottom half. Just trying to find some reassurance that I'm making the right decision with 500cc. It just seems like it takes girls so big. Help!! Lol. I love the fuller look, but still able to look dainty. Updated on 3 Mar 2022: This is crazy, woke up crying from joy after surgery. Was in some pain, tight and hard to breathe. Doing better now after some pain meds. :) Just a reminder I'm 5'9. Around 170lbs little waist and carry more on my bottom half. Definitely glad I went for 500cc, I didn't want to look super busty, but wanted a natural and proportionate look. Wow I just can't believe it happened! Very grateful I did this. Even thought I'm fresh out of surgery and they look like rockets... I already feel so much more comfortable in my skin. Updated on 8 Mar 2022: Settling slowly. My right has dropped more than left, should even out over time hopefully. I'm off all pain killers, haven't had much pain at all throughout this which has really surprised me. I lifted my heavier purse the first day, and kind of freaked out afterwards but talked to my doctor and have been feeling it out. Everything should heal right. Swelling has gone down lots! Updated on 22 Mar 2022: Feeling good, almost no soreness left over. They are feeling less high up, still have a lot of dropping to do. The picture really accentuates the asymmetry I feel like, the right one has definitely dropped more. They are still pretty hard and I’m really just excited for them to soften with time. Updated on 22 Mar 2022: Updated on 31 Mar 2022: 500cc mod+, I’m 5’9. I could’ve gone bigger!! So surprised. But also super happy they’re not huge. Hopefully they drop and soften more over the next couple months.
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Culbertson and he gave me amazing results. I am so glad that I chose Dr. Culbertson as my surgeon. He knew exactly what I wanted and explained the process thoroughly. I was very happy with the work I had done and everything went according to plan. I would choose him again! Thank you Dr. Culbertson!!!
Dr. Culbertson was the plastic surgeon for my first surgery. He made the entire process very comfortable and easy. He checked on my progress regularly and I could not be happier with the result. My family members and I will continue to go to him. If you are looking for incredible results and a surgeon who is honest, will listen to what you want, and who genuinely cares about you before, during, and after the procedure, I would highly recommend this doctor.
THE BEST! get my Botox/filler and have had a couple procedures and I’m ALWAYS happy. He’s very nice and super knowledgeable. I trust him with anything cosmetic. I also send all my clients to him because I know how amazing he is. Never disappointed - my favorite!
Dr. Culbertson performed my breast lift with implants (230cc, silicone low profile) back in late Feb '18. I'd had consults with two other well-regarded plastic surgeons in the SF Bay Area, but Dr. Culbertson was the only one who seemed to genuinely care, and who took the time to listen to my concerns. I never felt rushed at all, and when I emailed him after my consult with some questions I had, his reply was thorough, intelligent, and thoughtful. My story: I had suffered from pretty severe breast ptosis (sag) my whole adult life, even before I had my four kids. My breasts were large, but without an expensive and hardcore 'engineered' underwire bra, I sagged terribly. It's been about 3.5 months post-surgery, and my breasts look incredible! Finally, my shape both in AND out of a bra is beautiful. Honestly, I wouldn't have thought it possible to look as good as I do, especially considering how my breasts were beforehand. For me, this has been life-changing, and I am so happy I chose Dr. Culbertson. He is an exceptional and gifted surgeon who delivers stunning results; I recommend him wholeheartedly. Updated on 11 Nov 2018: Wanted to update with photos. I was a little on the fence about posting them, but then I remembered how incredibly helpful other women's pictures were to me when I was deciding whether or not to have the surgery. This is my way of giving back to this wonderful and supportive community. I am posting a few photos: what my breasts looked like before the surgery; about a week after the surgery; and then a few photos over the next months (1 month post-op; 2 months post-op; 3 months post-op; 5 months post-op; and 8-1/2 months post-op). For reference, I had my surgery at the end of Feb '18; the last photo in this series is from Nov '18. I also wanted to share these pictures so women can see my progression. Dr. Culbertson warned me that my breasts would look kind of boxy and square at first, but assured me that the shape would not be my final result. It was a little disconcerting to see my boobs immediately after the surgery; they were swollen (especially my left breast) and bruised and indeed pretty boxy-looking. However, as can be seen from my last photo, they have relaxed into such a beautiful and pleasing shape. My scars are also healing very nicely. Lastly, I did have a small revision (in-office, local anesthesia) in early Oct 18. This was to correct small 'dog ears' (you can see them in a few of the progression photos - check cleavage area), and also to correct a nipple size discrepancy. The last photo in the series shows my breasts post-revision. As I mentioned in my review, I am thrilled with my result thus far. (My final result, in terms of scars and shape, won't be until about a year post-surgery. - I will try to post a photo then.) I highly recommend Dr. Culbertson! Updated on 16 Feb 2019: We'll, it's been almost one year... I had my surgery in late February 2018 and it's February 16th 2019 today. Extremely happy with my results! To re-cap, I received a breast lift with 230cc low profile silicone implants. I asked for beautiful, natural-looking breasts, and that is what I got. :) One year out, I can honestly say that getting this surgery was one of the best decisions I've made, and I am so glad I chose Dr. Culbertson. He did an amazing job.
I grew up in a very body positive home. I was an active child/teenager and played volleyball and ran cross country and track. I have always enjoyed working out and being outside mountain biking and hiking. I was about 18 and realized I was never going to get boobs that were proportionate to the rest of my body. Since then I have thought about getting a breast augmentation. I don’t make decisions lightly and knew it was the sort of thing I needed to think about for a few years. I had friends along the years that had gotten breast augmentations, and I had gone to consultations and office visits with them. They were always thrilled with the results. A few months back a friend of mine mentioned that his friend/and a plastic surgeon had recently moved to the area and was practicing at the cosmetic surgery office across the street from my gym. I decided to go in for a consultation and after meeting Dr. Eric Culbertson I almost immediately knew I wanted to go forward with the breast augmentation and I wanted him to be my Doctor. During the consultation he completely listened to me when I said I wanted something very natural and proportionate to my body. A week later I put down the deposit and scheduled my surgery for May 14, 2018.
After talking about it for 5 years while not being comfortable in all my cute tops and jackets I decided to just go for it and it is the best thing I have done for myself in years! I was back to work in 4 days, though a bite sore. Healing up nicely! do not even need a bra anymore (If I chose to). I have to admit I was skeptical about the whole thing especially never having any surgery in my life but it was well worth it!
So I recently moved here to the Bay Area. I scheduled my consultation in June and hopefully they can do it in August. I'm 5,9" and 127Lb. I live a healthy lifestyle and the children keeping my pretty active. Have been very obsessed with this website and I'm on it constantly..please moms on here who have had the procedure done and could give me some advice...thank you Updated on 25 Apr 2018: Had my second consultation today, with Dr. Culbertson. He made me feel really comfortable so I scheduled and paid part of the surgery before I left that same day. Paid the rest the day of the surgery. Since I did that, they discounted my surgery by $2,000 for the special they were running. I was super nervous and super excited at the same time! I wasn’t sure what size I'd be getting when I left the office. I told him my goals and with I had in mind and what my concerns were. He showed me the 3D photos and sent them to my email and that literally the reason I decided to go with it! I went in for my surgery at 9 o’clock in the morning woke up at 11 o’clock left the surgery room at 12 . He did such a great job, after the surgery my pain level was low to none and because I don’t feel pain I have to control myself not to do too much around the house. 5'9” 122 LBS pre size 32C vs brand, I did not fill the cup , now 32DD......:DDDD Had 2 children and finished! Ready to get back to my full workout after my next appointment! Next week.... love the Doctor and his staffs are amazing!
Norcal mommy, I agree with the other surgeons that it is unlikely to be able to perform a full tummy tuck with a low transverse scar and and not have a short vertical scar somewhere between your belly button and the lower scar. I definitely think it is best to have the long scar low, below the underwear/bikini line, and have a smaller vertical scar in the middle that may be visible, than to make a single transverse scar that is high just to eliminate the vertical scar, in case that is offered to you. You have loose tissue in your upper abdomen hanging over your belly button, so a mini tummy tuck will not work well either. The floating umbilical tummy tuck can be done with good results in select patients, but in my experience those patients are very very few and I suspect that will not be a good choice in your case. You have a great starting figure, so I think a full tummy tuck, with a short vertical scar and a subtle amount of liposuction will likely give you a great result.
Thank you for your question, ddonova. This is a very common one, and in your case you will not be happy without a lift. While a large enough implant (likely greater than 300 cc) may fill out the lower breast tissue and allow your nipples to be relatively centered over the implant, your breasts and implants will remain low on your chest and off to the side as they are now, and you will not achieve significant upper pole fullness. A lift will elevate the breasts and nipples, centralize them, and allow the implants to fill out the upper poles. The areola sizes can be reduced as well if you desire that. Best wishes.
Hello Voxclamantis, Implant removal can definitely be performed under local anesthesia in many circumstances. As long as the capsule around the implant is normal, and no other procedures such as a lift or implant replacement are planned. There is no way to know for sure if breastfeeding will be negatively affected by reusing your existing incisions, but it is possible. I usually prefer an incision in the fold beneath the breast for that and other reasons, but either way can be easily done under local. You certainly may desire to have a lift or implant replacement in the future, but that is entirely up to you. The best starting point would be to have a consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals in detail, and ensure that there are no obvious abnormalities of the implant capsule. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question, candyrocks. You do have some features of tubular breasts. However, I think you can have a nice improvement in the shape and appearance of your breasts with a lift and ideally an implant. This will also narrow your areolas. You may end up with some of the retained areola pigment extending below your new, smaller areolas as the skin may be too tight to completely remove the excess. It will still be a great result. I do encourage you to seek consultation with a Plastic Surgeon to discuss your options after a proper examination. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question. It is difficult to fully answer your question without photos and direct examination, but 2 months is still early enough for some degree of swelling to be present that may come down over the next few months. If the fat has been adequately removed and there is minimal swelling, the other potential cause of a persistent pooch is laxity of the abdominal wall fascia below the surface, with separation of the rectus muscles. This can be corrected surgically and is a standard part of a tummy tuck (rectus plication). However, it is best to hang in there longer to allow the swelling to resolve, and then decide at around six months how you feel about your result. Best wishes.
