Hi, I got smart Lipo for the first time two days ago. I gotta say I'm very satisfied with everything so far. My surgery started about 2 PM on Wednesday and it finished by 3 PM. My doctor gave me Valium to make me relax which was good because even after surgery I was feeling good. By the time I got home (6 PM because of rush hour on Thanksgiving weekend) I was a little dizzy but after a nap I was good. The pain was mild, I only take Tylenol for the pain. At the clinic everybody treated me very good. The doctor asked me to walk one hour twice a day for 3 days starting the day after surgery and that helped a lot with the pain. I didn't have much fat but I'm happy to see my flat stomach and the flanks are gone. I totally recommend this to anyone. Tonight is Friday and almost no pain and feel great.
This product is awesome, indeed. You have to be sure to apply it exactly to the lash line/brows and nowhere else. Try not to saturate your lashes, otherwise you'll have hair growing in spots its not supposed to! I applied too much and found fine black hairs growing under my eyes! The only thing that bums me out about this product is the extremely long wait time to see results, although the 1st of the results were visible to me within 3 weeks. Also, when you stop using it, your lashes do indeed regress back to the original state.
Dr. Edward Lack (at Metropolitan M.D.) botched a "smart lipo" procedure done to my abdomen area and instead of comforting me or offering to correct it - he turned cold, indifferent and short. Before the procedure, I was seen quickly and he and staff were courteous. After the procedure - during the months of follow-up visits - it became apparent that he miscalculated the area and things changed. I found I would wait 90 or more minutes just to see him. And when he finally came in, he was distracted and rushed to see the next patient. I told him I had seen another doctor who does "smart lipo" to get a second opinion about the results...and that doctor had said it was obvious Dr. Lack was sloppy - taking areas of fat from some spots and none from others, leaving a lumpy, cottage cheese effect. When I asked Dr. Lack about this, he became irate and said I should have the other doctor "fix it if he was such an expert." Not the response I was expecting (or hoping for). I expected a little accountability or, at the very least, compassion. I did after all spend $5000 on this. After he yelled at me, he told me I wasn't welcome there anymore. I would not recommend this "doctor" as it seems money is his main objective. Updated on 29 Oct 2013:
I work as a model, I get paid for my appearance - I need extra help in problem areas. I'm having my first surgery (and it's cosmetic, shame on me) ever with my Dr. next week and I am a bit nervous because I have read the horror stories on SmartLipo procedures. I am in my midtwenties, I am 5'5 and 125lbs. I actually work as a model but I am of course always under the pressure to look perfect so I am hoping that he will help me fix my problem spots. I am having my abdomen and flanks smartlipo'ed and a fat transfer to my buttocks to make it more fuller. Although, I did read today that fat trasfers shouldn't take place with smartlipo because smart lipo damages the fat and it is no longer considered "living fat" therefore it shouldn't be transplanted because you'll see poor results from it, so I am going to ask about this. I am very nervous. I feel like I look good now but I think this could make me look better but ... it could also make me look worse. I'll keep everyone updated through my recovery and progress. Hopefully, my Dr. will be able to perform his duties as a doctor and not be like every car sales plastic surgeon I've ever seen. I want to recommend him and I want to tell you it'll be worth the whole $7,500 I'm about to spend on it - we'll find out very soon.. wish me luck.
Dying blond hair does not improve removal with hair removal lasers. A better choice is a topical cream like Vaniqa.
Post operative lip stiffness may be amenable to repeated injections of saline. If the stiffness is due to scar tissue repeated stretching may modify the collagen.
Botox will correct lines around the eyes if it is injected in proper proportions at strategic points in the orbicularis muscle. For patients who experience poor results effects will dissipate within 3 months.
Zeltique is not very effective as a body shaping procedure when compared to smartlipo liposculpture. Whiole Zeltique can reduce fat cells it takes multiple treatments and is a gross reduction as opposed to an artistic proceure.
Sculptra effects diminish with time and with the cosmetic area of injection. It is best to space injection widely over several months to avoid complications.
