I've been self conscience about my gummy smile since childhood. I never had it corrected. I considered Botox treatment but after consulting with a Plastic Surgeon he said it wouldn't be as effective because it was more of my gum overgrowth vs lip placement causing my gummy smile. I went to a periodontist who wanted to charge me thouuuusands ( over $3500.00 ) to perform the surgery. I would have had a week + downtime with the procedure she explained and would have had sutures and bandages in my mouth :0 . On a routine visit to my regular dentist he offered to do a gingivectomy with a laser ! The only pain I had was similar to a pizza mouth burn or a hot tea burn, I could have taken tylenol but I didn't need anything( and I ate right after my mouth numbness went away lol ) I was surprised and excited I had no idea he even did it ! My results were AMAZING AND LIFE CHANGING !! I recommend the laser procedure to everyone !!! Go see Dr. Bercovitch NOW !
I've always hated how childish and small my teeth looked and how my gums would show any time I smiled. Whenever I laughed I would ALWAYS cover my mouth. I'm 23 years old and my face already makes me look so young, my teeth didn't help at all. I decided to do some research and looked for the best cosmetic orthodontists in LA. I first made an appointment with Dr. Frey and he made me feel HORRIBLE about my teeth and insisted that veneers were the only option. I hated this idea. I mean, I'm only 23 years old, why would I want to trim such healthy teeth down to little stubs? (nothing against anyone who has or is thinking about veneers- but I wanted that to be the LAST resort). After doing more research I found Dr. Bercovitch. I made an appointment for a consultation and I knew he was the REAL deal and got my gum lift right then and there! He is an AMAZING dentist. It took literally 30 minutes and my teeth look honestly COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. My smile is incredible. I AM SOO SO SO HAPPY and so grateful to have found him. THANK YOU DR. BERCOVITCH and your lovely staff! I am forever grateful!
Unfortunately, this is a common problem with many patients. A quick fix for this would be to trim the ends othe lower aligners. If your lower molars are not involved in any movement you could easily cut off the last tooth on each side, this usually will solve the problem. Of course, I would have your Orthodontist or Dentist, as you might trim too much.
