My name is sara I'm 21 years old and i have always had big breasts. The past year has been horrible, i was wearing bras meant for old ladies and my back and shoulders were in constant pain. I was a 40H. finally ins approved me for a breast reduction. Within a month of being approved i had my surgery. I had my surgery yesterday morning and got home from the hospital this morning. my pain so far has been tolerable and even though i am uncomfortable i can already tell this was an amazing decision. My surgery was about 2 hours long and they did not use stitches, they actually used some type of glue. I am still very swollen but am expected to be a D cup. Anyone considering a reduction i highly suggest you do it. best decision I ever made! hopefully be all better in about 2 weeks!
Had a panniculectomy done. Insurance paid ( thank you Jesus) for it since I developed a rash from the extra skin rubbing on my apron and thigh and vaginal area. Spent two days in the hospital. Healing was so but the surgery was so worth it. It has motivated me to exercise more. Feel like a band new person. Updated on 23 Sep 2014: I had no pain at all. I stop pain meds after a three day as were making sick. I took Aleve. My doctor said I would be out of work for two weeks but my incision kept opening so I was out for a month. My job was very accommodating. I'll be sure to upload picks. The opening is usually where fluid builds up. They had to take my drain out after a week even though my right side still had a lot of fluid drain. My surgeon said the fluid needed to find a why out and that was the weakest spot ( Better out then have it stay in) They gave me bacitracin and compression pads with tape and I was good to go and to eat more protein. I did wear a compression garment. I received two from the surgeons office and I bought one at a medical supply store. I wore it everyday for a three months.
I had a breast reduction 4/7/21 with Dr. Orgill at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. My experience was horrible. I developed open wounds afterwards and Dr. Orgill or anyone else was only available 2 days/week to be able to see me. Even on those days, he could be booked and unable to see you.I ended up having to go to the ER 3 times because he was unavailable. Finally, I saw him at 4 weeks post op. I had a massive infected abscess in one breast. He told me everything looked fine and he did not think there was an infection. I had it cultured in the ER and it was a staph infection! The ER put me on antibiotics. He did not believe me and told me that I was hyperfocused on my wounds and just needed to forget about it and exercise. I was in excruciating pain from the abscess and he did not believe I was in that much pain. Six days later, my abscess burst through my incision and drained about 16 ounces from my breast. He was unable to see me that day. I ended up in the ER to manage the infection and additional open wound. I am now seeing another plastic surgeon at a wound care center to manage my healing. I found Dr. Orgill to be heartless and dismissive. Not to mention, he missed a major abscess and infection.
I had a full abdominoplasty and lipo done in May 15th 2019. I have left over sagging skin and fat. My doctor told me he couldn’t do anything for me until a year post op. He has its swelling! It’s skin!
