After an 85 pound weight loss and two children within 18 months, I was left with an extremely large amount of loose skin on my abdomen. I am now one week post op and I am thrilled with the outcome! I will continue to update as I continue to heal.
My abdomen was in bad shape due to pregnancies and weight loss. I had diastasis recti, and a hanging flap that had near constant infections underneath. Due to the constant infections, I was hoping that insurance would cover at least part of the cost. After seeing a couple surgeons for consultations, both were reluctant to file for insurance approval. I was okay with the quote that Dr. Kleto gave me, and even though he did not have a lot of reviews of before and after pics, I decided to have him perform my surgery. His office manager is awesome. She was very helpful, kind, and courteous. Dr. Kleto is a very nice, well respected doctor. He is well liked by many of the doctors and nurses I spoke with in the area. He has been in business a long time, so he has a lot of experience. I found his bed side manner to be odd, and very much "a matter of fact," sometimes more so than others. Aftercare instructions were lacking. My husband and I had a lot of questions and confusion afterwards. Aftercare visits were short and rushed, preceded by long wait times. My results are not what air expected, although much better than before. I have lost 10 lbs since surgery. I have extra skin the lays on my lap when I sit down, and hangs low in the plank position. Above my belly button is puffy almost like a bird's beak. My belly button is off center (though it was before surgery so I am not sure that Dr. Kleto could have fixed that). He spent a lot of time placing my stitches, I healed relatively well, and I realize a surgeon cannot control all aspects of the outcome. I am thankful for the surgery, I would do it all over again. Updated on 27 Aug 2019: Adding a three month pre-op verses post-OP collage as well as a pic of my tummy while laying down. It is quite tight when I am laying down. My belly button is centered more when I am laying down as well.
Dr. Kleptocracy is a great plastic surgeon. I had implants August 2016 in N.C. The doctor never discussed size with me. I assumed he knew what I expected in the consultation. Anyway, after surgery and healing, I looked same size I was before surgery. So exactly 1 year later I go to Dr. Kleto. I had consultation with him and knew he was very experienced and very nice. He understood exactly what I wanted. Had implant revision on August 11, 2017 and I’m soooooo happy. Will always go to Dr. Kleto with anything I have done. Thank you so much Dr. Kleto and Jody.
Dr. Kleto really knows what he is doing. I have had very large breast most of my life and finally I was able to get a Lift and a reduction. I was set at ease by his vast experience and his reassurance of the procedure. I am 54 years old and in good shape. My breasts were G38 cup. Now I would say they are about a 36 small D cup. They absolutely look fantastic! Dr. Kleto was correct that there would be little discomfort. It felt like a bit like a sunburn. If you listen to Dr. Kleto you should recoup fine. It is only been four weeks for me . I'm a little tender, Around the incision under the breast. But that is because that is where my wonderful brand-new bras are sitting. I did not have a drainagetube ,I did not have blood that wasn't just light spotting. The biggest problem was the Anastasia , but I was able to do my regular activities within four days. If you are hesitant and worried about pain and the way they're going to look and you're not doing it ...STOP!!!!! I have never been so happy in my entire life! I am now able to do all the activities I want and wear a button up shirt. You got to go see Dr. Kleto he is amazing!
Dr kleto fixed a previous explantation that I had 8 years before. I am 6 weeks into my lift/augmentation. So far everything looks great. We are making Dr Kleto our family plastic surgeon. I am bringing my aunt in for a reduction and He also did an augmentation on my niece 1.5 years ago and did a beautiful job. Jody is amazing and has answered all of my questions and addressed any concerns I've had. I live out of state and they have been more than accommodating with that. Never have they sounded frustrated if I have called multiple times with questions. Dr kleto was very up front on how things could turn out as my previous surgery was a disaster with another surgeon. I appreciate his honesty and explanation of what he could do for me specifically. If your reading this Dr Kletos office I give you all a thumbs up! See you all in February for my follow up!! -Cristy.
Seems that tall women getting implants on realself are few and far between so I want to document my journey for other Amazonian women ;) Even before my 90 pound weight loss I never really had boobs. I have wanted bigger boobs for as long as I can remember. It's always been hard to find bras that fit. Companies assume if you have a large rib cage, that you automatically have a large cup. And even with weight loss my rib cage will never change, so it's time to get implants to make my body proportionate. I currently wear a 38b/c. I had a consultation with Dr Kelto in July. He was recommended to me by a friend. At the consultation we talked about the different options. He has the 3D imager which we used. It gives an idea, though there is some distortion so it's not 100% perfect, but it was nice to get a visual understanding of how they will (kinda) look. He has a great bedside manner and I chose to schedule my surgery that day for 10/30. Updated on 21 Oct 2015: I chose to go with saline due to the cost difference. I didn't chose a specific size, Dr Kleto explained he takes several sizes into the or and uses his judgement upon seeing the space he has to work with. I explained that I would like the largest he can do. Knowing I have a large frame, I'm not concerned with too big. I go for pre-testing tomorrow. And I will update on what that all involved. Updated on 22 Oct 2015: I keep trying to think of info that others would find helpful, so I keep having to update. I forgot to mention that I am an avid gym goer. I workout 6 days a week, 2-3 hours a day. I do cardio but lifting is my thing. I am going under the muscle and was worried about distortion and shifting, but after researching and reading tons of bodybuilding articles, I'm not worried about unders. The hardest thing about the surgery will be having to stay out of the gym for so long. I asked Dr Kleto how long I'll be restricted and he said at least 4 weeks before light cardio and 8 weeks before lifting. I'll have a 6 week appointment after the surgery so I will ask again if I really have to wait the full 8 weeks. I was informed by my surgeons office that pretesting takes 2-4 hours. Well I guess I got lucky (or I'm just healthy lol) cuz total time for testing was about 10 mins. Not going to complain lol. An RN asked some basic health questions and then an anesthesiologist nurse came in and asked me just about the same questions. Since I am not a smoker there was no need for further testing. And I was on my way. I was given pre-op instructions: no food, drink, lotion, meds, etc-basic surgery instructions. Also instructions to avoid blood clots and pneumonia. Updated on 29 Oct 2015: Today is the last day I will have small boobs!! YAY!! I took a week off for the surgery, starting today. So I've spent the day getting the house ready. With both my husband and I being over 6 feet tall, I realized we have lots of items stored above our heads. I got down any snack items that I think I may want. I put toilet paper in both bathrooms at arms length so I don't have to stretch too much. I've assembled pillows by the couch and by the bed to help prop myself up. I've also been youtubing videos of BA recovery to get an idea of what day to day pain and limitations will be. Looks like day 2 post-op is the worse in general. And now I'm prepared for it. Since I have left the sizing up to my PS, I had some difficulty in buying a bra to wear after my bandages come off. I wanted to get one before hand because I'm not sure of where my pain and discomfort will be. So I made a guess with a 40D zip up sports bra. I figure that if it doesn't fit and if I don't feel able to go to the store, I'd have at least a reference for my husband to go and attempt to pick one out. Though I'm really hoping that I'll be able to at least have him take me to the store that day and I can find one that works. Better safe than sorry. Imagining him trying to pick out bras with a vague understand of what he's looking for make me giggle :) As of midnight tonight I can't eat or drink. I have to be at the hospital at 6am with surgery scheduled at 8am. With an hour drive to the hospital, I'm going to be starving by the time I get there. Hopefully the excitement of surgery will suppress it. I'm hoping to update tomorrow before and after surgery! Updated on 30 Oct 2015: I've been home for a little bit from surgery this morning. Everything went well and I feel amazingly good. Even better after I got to eat and drink a gallon of water. Post-op recovery was a little rough for me. Surgery was done at 1045am, but we didn't leave til 2. I just couldn't wake up and was super nauseous. I was given anti-nausea meds and pain killer for the ride home. I have pain meds, antibiotics and anti-nausea scripts. Which we filled on the way home. I've been dosing on and off, but feel really good. I'm hoping it's the awesome job my PS did and not just the pain pill. I've been walking around the house and even went to the bathroom myself. I find that staying in an upright position on the edge of my couch helps me be mobile. I hope this feeling lasts because it'll be a breeze for recovery! Implant details: Right 525cc saline Left 550cc saline While marking for surgery, Dr Kleto noticed my left breast was slightly smaller and a little tuberous. Which he will correct in surgery. Can't wait til Sunday to see them. Now to watch some tv while doing my anti-pneumonia breathing & coughing and leg exercises to avoid blood clots. Updated on 1 Nov 2015: Yesterday was a little tougher than the day of surgery, but not super awful. I actually stopped taking my pain meds and went to acetaminophen. The pain meds just made me sleepy. Before I took a shower this morning, my husband took me to Walmart and get some bras since I was pretty sure the one I picked up on Thursday wouldn't fit. So I got a 40 and a 42 non-cup size sports bra. And after showering still had to have my husband run back to Walmart and get a 44. Showering was still not easy. I did wash my hair, but washing my entire body was more difficult. There's still arm movements that are hard to do. Like washing my arm pits, but I think it's just getting used to the way the implants feel while moving the muscle. Updated on 2 Nov 2015: Day 3 post op. No pain just "pressure" I guess that's the best description. Just an awkward feeling of you can tell there's something there that wasn't before. I have slowly been trying to do daily things like putting clothes on. Taking the dog out. Just getting used to the way the implants move. There's been weird gurgling too. Putting deodorant on and making a ponytail is still kinda tricky. Updated on 10 Nov 2015: I had my stitches out at 6 days post-op. My PS put steri-strips on which are slowly coming off. I don't want to pull them off so I'll just let them do their thing. He told me to get some Palmer's skin oil to rub on the scar. I haven't started using it due to the steri-strips still on. He showed me how to "massage" the implants. I press up, down and side to side once a day. I'm not sure if he told me how long to do this, but I have a 6 week post-op appointment. I'm going to continue until then and wait for work if I need to continue. My PS also gave me the go ahead to go back to gym! Which makes me very happy!! Obviously he said no hard running or chest exercises. I'm still wearing a sports bra. He said I could change to a non-underwire when I feel comfortable. I'm anxious to know what size they are for now; it gives a better idea of what they maybe be after d&f. I've been back at work for 3 days and I feel pretty normal. The first day was rough. I hadn't stood for 8 hours while on vacation, so gravity took its toll a little. But some acetaminophen helped that. I'm so thankful for all the info I've found on this site. Because without it I'd probably freak out a little at how differently my breasts are changing. My left is taking longer and still looks kinda square. But after reading and seeing other pictures, I've been comforted in knowing this is completely normal! I continue my review with the hopes of being helpful for other as well. Thank you realself members!!!! Updated on 10 Jan 2016: Implants are settling ok. Right breast seems fine. But my left breast was the tuberous one and the implant looks like a small "double bubble" kinda. I'm pretty positive it's still settling into the pocket. I've had some pain in that breast I assume is the muscles and tendons stretching or healing from being cut and shaped for the tuberousness.
Dr. Kleto is my go to PS. I had my first BA done with him in 2009. I have researched and even had a surgery scheduled with another PS but about a month before I was supposed to travel I found several complaints and unsatisfied patients. I decided to go with who I know and trust so I came back home to have my surgery. Updated on 15 Jan 2017: It still doesn't seem real that I will be having surgery this Friday. I'm trying to get together everything I'll need for recovery. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I've been juicing for a week and will continue to after my surgery. I Planning a pre-op surgery shopping on Tuesday after I have my final apt before the big day! Updated on 20 Jan 2017: I'm sitting here still numb to the idea that I'm a few hours I'll be in surgery. I can't wait to see how different the Inspira implants feel vs my mentor Salines. I'm going from a 400 to a 800. The tt recovery has got my anxiety raised but I have an amazing group of people who are going to help me. Updated on 21 Jan 2017: I got home last night around 9:00. So far so good. Coughing has been my biggest problem. I'm making sure I take deep breaths. I won't be able to take my binder off till Thursday. I can't wait though ???? Updated on 21 Jan 2017: Ever since I woke up from surgery I've had to cough. I do it ever time I get up. Does anyone have any suggestions? Updated on 22 Jan 2017: I can't believe it's only day 2. It feels like it's been a lot longer. I still have all my bandages and I think I'm going to have to take a peek today. I feel a lot better than I thought I would. I can't wait to shower and wash my hair. Updated on 22 Jan 2017: So far I'm super happy with everything I see. It's hard to get a good idea until I can stand up straight. Im waiting to confirm with my ps the size implant I have in. I believe it's the largest inspira ultra high profile (840 cc) but I need to confirm with him. I unbound them and switched to a sports bra. Everything feels good. I'm going to figure out a way to wash my hair so I can look like a person tomorrow. Updated on 23 Jan 2017: I've felt pretty good today and even went out and visited a few people. I've switched over to mainly using OTC pain relief and seem to be doing ok. The one thing I've dealt with that I haven't seen mentioned much is gas. Has anyone else had this issue? It's like a pressure release valve. Snap chat filters have taken the place of actual makeup. I did get my hair washed today. Small victories. Updated on 29 Jan 2017: Still swollen of course but liking what I see. I've still got drains in which sucks but they should come out Tuesday. We found out my belly button has been a little off center since having my kids but he lined it back up. I'm still getting use to it. Updated on 30 Jan 2017:
It is very unusual to have stretch marks after breast augmentation. I have seen this 2 times in over 25 years. I have patients use vitamin E lotions with cocoa butter on their skin which seems to help with moisturizing the skin.
