I recently visited Dr. Whalen's dental practice, and I'm thrilled with the experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly and professional, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Dr. Whalen's expertise was evident, and they took the time to thoroughly explain procedures. The office was clean, and I felt comfortable throughout my visit. I highly recommend this dentist for their outstanding care and patient-focused approach.
Dr. Whalen provides exceptional insight and is very meticulous with his approach. He understands the patients “wants and needs” and is realistic about what is the best outcome. I would say Dr. Whalen is a perfectionist in the best of ways! I am grateful. I receive constant compliments on my teeth!! Best in the business!
Thank you for your interest in improving the color appearance of your 2 front teeth! From your description and the pictures, I am not able to 100% determine the cause of your tooth color appearance concern. It would be great to have some additional information. From what I can see, I suspect that the change in color is related to the bonded retainer that was placed- sometimes these can cause staining due to difficulty with home care and sometimes it can cause changes in the translucency of the teeth with something new bonded to them. I do not see an opportunity for Icon resin infiltration in your case. It would be my pleasure to have you at our office to look more thoroughly and determine some options for treatment that would achieve your needs.
It appears that you have been guided with some very specific information and spoken with specialists. With the limited information from the xrays and pictures presented, I cannot guide you with the specifics that you are asking without a thorough in person exam. I would like to welcome you for a visit to our office. Orthodontics and all dental treatment can come with a variety of options and sometimes it is not clear what to pick; I am happy to help!
Dentistry has a lot of options to help people such as yourself show more teeth when they smile and especially gain more confidence when smiling. I have helped people very similar to you and they are thrilled!! I have limited information that guides me toward treatments that I can recommend for you and I recommend a visit to our office so that I can work with you to develop a plan that will fit your needs. We can help you to improve your confidence smiling again!
Thanks for the great question, I can see your concern and agree that expanding your arch would improve your smile. I can also understand not wanting to shave down your teeth to achieve these results. I have some options that can help! Your back teeth are the cause of your arch looking narrow AND believe it or not your front teeth cause this perception also! Your back teeth tip inward and your front teeth flare outward. With orthodontics, we can correct your tooth position which will provide the appearance of a more appealing archform. When we have the teeth in a great position lightening your tooth color can be achieved in a few ways. First could be simply dental whitening, the least invasive and easiest. The next could be composite veneers which can change the color and appearance with minimal to no tooth structure removal. The last is porcelain veneers, the most esthetic and longest lasting outcome which often requires a very conservative amount of tooth modification. You have some great options! I look forward to meeting you in person so we can choose a plan that fits your goals.
I understand your concern of your teeth that tip inward. There are functional, esthetic, and breathing improvements that can be achieved with expanding your smile by straightening teeth that are tipped like yours. Congratulations, I think we can achieve a great outcome! It appears that you have had orthodontics including tooth removal in the past which does make your smile smaller. Orthodontics (one type is Invisalign) can upright and straighten your teeth to improve the health of your bite, create more space for your tongue, and also improve your ability to breathe. Sometimes orthodontics is the only treatment that is needed to achieve this wonderful outcome. Sometimes after orthodontics veneers are planned to change the size, color, and appearance of a person’s teeth and to possibly fill in spaces that are created after orthodontic tooth movement. Based on your pictures, I think you could benefit from both treatments and we could achieve an amazing result! It would be great to have you come in for a comprehensive dental examination so I could more thoroughly evaluate your overall dental health and also discuss our options to see how they can fit your needs.
