I was more so scared to get a reduction because my boobs are something I grew up with. I grew up with large saggy boobs. At the age of 14 my boobs are past a double D. I was embarrassed of them but I learned to cope. Fast forwarding 11 years later I’m a mom of a 4 year old and my boobs were at least a F cup. Now I’m down to a C40 in bras, which is a little too small still. I think I’m at D cup. Which I’m happy about still. My doctor did a amazing job. My family said they were waiting about 4 hours for my surgery to get done. I’ve barely experienced pain. I took extra strength Tylenol for 3 days after and nothing prior to that. I think I’ll probably start the Tylenol back because I have to sleep on my back all the time and it hurts waking up to a knot in my back. But I am very pleased with my surgery all together. I had a wonderful hospital stay also. I did have to stay in the hospital after my surgery and I left the next morning. I wasn’t in pain but they wanted to monitor me because of the mix of medications with the muscle blockers they gave me. I love love love my results. It’s going to take some getting use to (not seeing my old big boobs anymore) lol. But my doctor did excellent!!
I am so happy with my results from Dr. Hing. I first had seven moles taken off my body. I don't even see any scars. I then had BodyTite on my arms with Dr. Hing. He took his time to explain every detail of the procedures which made me feel very confident and comfortable every step of the way. He is very thorough and pays attention to detail. I would go back to Dr. Hing for future procedures and would highly recommend him!
My personal experience was a good one. Once I had my initial consult with Dr Hing and we went over the procedure and what I could expect, I sad YES! I made my surgery appointment that day. He explained in detail what to expect. it's been a month now since I had my Tummy Tuck and as I heal, I am very happy with the outcome. I will be honest, it isn't an easy surgery (the first 2 weeks) for myself anyway. But I know in the next month or so I will be very happy that I had the surgery. it's completely changed my appearance and I like it very much! Dr. Hing is amazing! Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery 734-712-2323 The staff is stellar too! Kelly, Kris, Kimberly and Max!
I had a abdominoplasty, panniculectomy, and breast augmentation after a 165 pound weightloss in 2013. Dr. Hing was amazing and love my flat tummy and perky breasts. He took as much time needed to answer all of my questions, concerns, and going over the procedure. With this much weightloss, Dr. Hing explained how it would be best to split my tummy/breast, arms & upper, and lower body into 3 procedures. I would get the best results allowing each area to heal and lose any swelling from the surgery before moving on to the next area. During the inital consult he explained and showed how he would do each area and then did diagrams for me to reference as well. The mark up the day before my surgery he had measured 44cm wide to come off my tummy. WOW! The excess skin removed was 7 pounds. I am working on getting closer to my goal weight after my last baby to continue with the remaining 2 surgeries. I also moved out of state (600 miles) during this process and came back for my surgery and will do so for the remaining ones as well.
Doctor Hings consultation...had just so hapened to be my first one, before running the gauntlet of cocky fast-talking know it all physicians who really didn't see me as a person, from ann arbor to Bay city and down the Toledo I kept referring or comparing these other ones to him so finally my wife and I said that Dr Hing was the doctor that the other ones in my opinion we're all falling short of so I will give you this advice, go see and talk to doctor Hing about ANY procedure it doesn't matter he is a fantastic sculptor of the human body is how I would describe him not just as a surgeon, but it wasn't necessarily about the procedures and you'll know what I mean after speaking with him... but the procedures that I had done the results surpassed my wildest expectations, not to mention his staff who not only went beyond any expectations of a normal patient but had the correct paperwork and the terminology to get my insurance company to be one of the first insurance companies to cover my procedure 100% and I gotta tell you the cost of procedures like this are a huge factor in some cases Dr. Hing I hope you read this and keep making a difference in us regular people, just like yo u told me I did all the hard work of losing the weight and working my body all you did was bring it out for us too see
After being severely overweight my entire life, I woke up one day and decided that I wanted to be a healthy grandma, able to be active and play with my grandchildren. I began a healthy eating program and by counting calories over a two year period, I lost 210 lbs. This left me with an excessive amount of excess skin. I was nervous about skin removal surgery, but the desire to have it removed was stronger than my nervousness.
Dr. Hing has the best bedside manner of any surgeon I have had. I had a consult with another dr prior to seeing him, and the difference was profound. Dr Hing took all of the time he needed to thoroughly explain the entire procedure, options, and everything in between to help me make an informed decision. He has been so patient with all of my questions and concerns and put me at ease from the beginning. You can tell from my incisions how much time and care he out into the closure, because they are healing beautifully. It has been a great experience, amd I would recommend him to anyone! If I do come up with the funding to do my arms and legs, b he will be the surgeon I will choose!
These procedures were done due to result of 165 lb weight loss following Bariatric Surgery thus having skin flap/skirt and sagging breasts. The results were excellent in giving me back my slender "old self" before the weight gain. He has also followed with a steroid injection to clear up some scars around the bra line. I loved the care this man and his staff gave me!!
I am a 53 yo asian woman with slightly droopy eyelids which i knew will get worse as i get older. my eyelids are also very puffy below the brows. i decided to get this procedure done now rather than later as i was concerned that if i did it later, i would not have the guts to go through it, and also i thought it better to do it now while i am younger than older. my hesitation in doing this procedure were caused by a couple of factors: that i am an older asian and i scar easily. i was afraid that i could be left with lots of hyperpigmentation which i currently have on the rest of my face from acne during my younger days. so we will see how the healing process goes for me. i plan to keep posting pics for a year to show the progress and whether hyperpigmentation and scarring will be an issue for me. my procedure was done on 3/25/2016 at 12 noon. i arrived at 11 am and changed into a hospital gown. was told to weigh myself. wash my face with dial soap. give a urine sample. removed my contact lenses. i was given a valium and an anti-nausea pill. they also took my bp and pulse. then wheeled me into the op room. started an iv and before i could say hello, i was out. seems like only a minute later, they were waking me up. i had a good nap. i was not in any pain at all. i got dressed, remembered that i was wheeled down to my husband. and then i was home!! i barely remembered much really. but over the next few days, i did not have any pain at all. i had the prescription meds hydrocodone-acetaminophen on hand just in case but i did not have to take any at all. i continue to ice my eyes for the first 48 hours. and i took extra strength acetaminophen to help reduce inflammation more than anything else. i did not take it for the pain as there was no pain at all. i took my first shower and shampoo 48 hours later and make sure not to blast water into my face. i use q-tips to clean gently around my eyes. the first couple of days look a lot better than the 3rd day. by the 3rd day, the area around my left eye was definitely more swollen, bruised and tender. no big deal. i can't wait to see how i will look in a month. i have my appointment on apirl 1st, 2015 to have the sutures removed. i was told that i will not be able to wear my contact lenses for about 2 weeks. i was also told that my eyes would be very dry, but i have not had that at all. Updated on 31 Mar 2015: My left eye area seems to be more swollen under the eye, and the bruising seems to take on a larger area. But the swelling on the eyelids have definitely subsided quite a bit. I don't have as much difficulty opening my eyes. The past few days, it took a little effort opening my eyes as the eyelids felt really stiff and swollen. I still have no pain at all. Lucky me! My upper eyelids just feel like they got a shot of numbing pain, like when you are at the dentist. when i gently press on my upper eye lids just below my brows, they feel a little sore. the sutures from the procedure have been taped down. i was able to shower without worrying that the surgical tapes will fall off. they stayed on. I am still a little concerned that my eyes won't look even. but we will have to wait and see as the swelling on each eye is subsiding at a different rate. i also feel that the incision at the end of my right eye may be cut a little too close to the corner. we'll see... Updated on 31 Mar 2015: Swelling has gone down quite a bit, especially on the upper lids just below the brow. The area between my eyelashes and incision does not look as thick and purple. I am starting to see what my eyes will look like. Although I am still concerned that they may not crease evenly because of the way the incisions were made. time will tell. the surgical tape that taped the threads to the area between my eyebrows finally fell off in the shower. So, now I have about 2 inches of thread sticking out . just hope that i don't try to pull them off in my sleep. i have been sleeping in a sitting-up position for the last few nights. used about 10 different pillows to prop me up left and right so that i don't slump over onto my face in the middle of the night. i am a side sleeper who likes to press my face into the pillow. Updated on 31 Mar 2015: I thought my post op f/u was April 1st, but it was actually March 31st. I was kept waiting for about 45 minutes in the reception area. Finally got up and told the receptionist I had been waiting. She was quite alarmed and went to check, and in about 10 minutes, a nurse came out and brought me into one of the rooms. they must have forgotten that i was waiting, i think. tHANK GOODNESS FOR MY CELLPHONE. wHAT WOULD i HAVE DONE WHILE WAITING. the nurse removed the sutures which was a weird indescribable sensation. a little painful. definitely more pain than i haD since the op. dr hing came in after about 5 minutes to check out his handiwork . he seemed quite pleased but also noticed that the crease on the inner corner of my right eye IS NOT creasING where it should. but there were a couple of little swollen bumps that need to subside before we can know for sure how the crease will lay. so anyway, he said that he would like to follow up with me on a weekly basis. what an awesome doctor!! this shows that he takes pride in his work and shows a real concern for his patients. especially in post op situations, i would think most doctors would have brushed me off by then. THIS BEING MY 6TH DAY POST OP, I CAN SEE THAT THE INCISION IS STARTING TO SCAB OVER. I ASKED IF I SHOULD PUT SOME KIND OF OINTMENT LIKE AN ANTIBIOTIC OVER THE INCISION, BUT WAS ADVISED NOT TO BY DR. HING. I GUESS WE ARE GOING TO LET THE INCISIONS HEAL NATURALLY ON THEIR OWN AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. I ALSO WANTED TO KNOW WHEN I WOULD BE FULLY HEALED. MEANING: WHEN WILL THE SWELLING FULLY SUBSIDE, NO VISIBLE INCISION, NO MORE BRUISES, AND I CAN WEAR MY CONTACT LENSES AND WEAR EYE MAKE UP. OF COURSE, I UNDERSTAND THAT THE HEALING PROCESS DIFFERS FROM ONE PERSON TO ANOTHER. I WAS TOLD ALL OF THAT WILL PROBABLY TAKE ABOUT 7-10 DAYS TO CLEAR UP AND SUBSIDE. BUT INTERNALLY, UNDER THE SKIN, I GUESS THE HEALING PROCESS WILL CONTINUE FOR ABOUT A YEAR. wELL, AS LONG AS i CAN LOOK ALMOST NORMAL IN ABOUT 10 DAYS, I AM GOOD WITH THAT. I WISHED I HAD SCHEDULED TO DO THIS EYELID SURGERY EARLIER THIS YEAR RATHER THAN LATER, AS I FIRST SAW HIM IN DECEMBER. I WAS NERVOUS AND KEPT PUTTING IT OFF . wELL, ANYWAY...I AM QUITE PLEASED WITH HOW THINGS ARE GOING. RIGHT AFTER SEEING dR. hING, i HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH POST-OP CAMOUFLAGE. gINA WAS REALLY NICE AND WENT OVER WITH ME WHAT i CAN DO TO COVER UP THE BRUISES. SHE GAVE ME A CONCEALER THAT SHE MATCHED TO MY SKIN TONE, AS WELL AS SEVERAL OTHER SKIN CARE SAMPLES. SO FAR, IF YOU ARE IN THE ANN ARBOR AREA, I DEFINITELY DO RECOMMEND DR. HING FOR THIS PROCEDURE. IN THE FIRST PLACE, HE WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME BY A FRIEND. Updated on 1 Apr 2015: Just wanted to show these pics taken exactly one week after my procedure. i started wearing my contact lenses today. dr. hing said i could as long as i was not pulling on the upper eyelid. i am not wearing any eye makeup on my upper lids, but am using eye liner for lower. also i am very careful when washing my face, patting it dry very very gently around the eyes and also making sure my eye lids are really dry. went to the grocery store today but had my sunglasses on the whole time i was inside. Updated on 25 Apr 2015: Overall I am quite pleased at how my eyes are starting to look. I can still feel a lot of swelling in my upper eye lids. so even though my eyes still look a little droopy from the side, i know that once the swelling has completely subsided, my eyelids will look the way i want them to look. I have gone for 3 eye massages (which were included in the cost of the procedure). I have also gone for a total of 3 follow-up visits with Dr. Hing. He continues to monitor my progress on a weekly basis. Being an asian with my skin tone, I expected the incision scar to take longer to fade. I do see it fading a little every day. Updated on 15 Jun 2017: Pics taken 03-20-2016 but I am only posting them now. I'm not very happy one year post-op; and 2-year post-op. I went back to Dr. Hing at about 9 months post-op and he said he can fix and remove more fat below the brow. But I can't imagine going through it again. Plus I am too busy and can't spare the time to recover from the procedure. One incision is higher than the other, so now one eye looks very obviously bigger than the other. Should I get them re-done?
I'm 55 I had a gastric sleeve in September of 2017 I have lost over 160, even with daily workouts, I still have the hanging fat & skin on my face, neck, chest, belly and arms. I was originally going to get my belly, boobs and bat wings done first, but there was some masses & lumps found in my mammogram that had to be removed & biopsied, Dr Hing was wonderful helping me get a breast surgeon to take care of it. So while my boobs heal, I decided to get my face & neck lift done first. My surgery is scheduled next week. I'm so excited
I advise my patients to wait until their sutures and drains are removed, and I follow their wounds until they are healed and closed. This varies from patient to patient, but averages about 3 weeks. I do allow patients to shower with sutures and drains in place. With showers, the skin is not submerged under water, as in a bathtub, lessening the risk of water carrying contamination into the wound. Each surgeon has their own regimen, so you should ask your surgeon this question specifically.I hope that this assists you.
Body contouring of the abdomen, panniculectomy, should await weight loss to the point that you reach a plateau in your weight loss and are not continuing to lose weight. This varies from individual to individual. Insurance companies may also have a stipulation of having a certain amount of time pass, in order to assure that weight loss is stable and that there is no relapse back to obesity. Many companies suggest a one year time frame before panniculectomy surgery, but, again, this may vary from company to company.Recovery time includes, suture removal at around 2 weeks, and drain removal 1 to 3 weeks after surgery. If your rectus abdominis muscles are tightened by bringing them closer to the midline, you may be asked to wait 6 weeks before beginning heavy lifting. Depending upon what you want to return to doing, these time frames can help you anticipate the time you are off work, in need of assistance, or need drivers to appointments.I hope this is helpful to you. Good luck in your progress from weight loss to body contouring!
If a separation of the inner edges of the rectus muscles is noted during an abdominoplasty or tummy tuck, it can easily be addressed during the abdominoplasty surgery. An evaluation and physical exam by your board certified plastic surgeon can help determine whether a diastasis exists, before the surgery is scheduled. The presence of a midline scar can cause a vertical indentation, which can make the edges of the skin and fat push and either side of the scar. This could be removed at the time of the abdominoplasty, but would leave an incision/scar like an upside down"T", as mentioned with a fleur de lis type of abdominoplasty. In any case, the issues you have mentioned can be addressed by a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in body contouring procedures.I hope that this assists you in your decision. Good Luck!
The appearance of your arm is a combination of the extra padding in the fat layer and the extra skin in the upper arm.Liposuction will remove the extra fat padding, but it may then produce eve more loosening of the skin. The loose skin, if it occurs, may require surgical skin removal. If the extra skin is not an issue, based on your judgment as the patient, you can decide not to have surgical skin removal. The point is to make you aware that liposuction alone, may NOT give you the result you are seeking and that you may have to consider secondary surgery. In any case, you will benefit from liposuction, if you choose to use this option, since it will decrease that layer of extra fat in the upper part of your arm.I hope that this helps in your decision. Good luck!
I would recommend full abdominoplasty, since you appear to have redundant skin and fullness above your belly button. A full abdominoplasty would helpt to tighten the tissue above the belly button. I think that you would be more satisfied with a full abdominoplasty than the mini, for that reason.Hopefully, this opinion will assist you in your decision. Good Luck!
