Hello steveybaby, It's not unusual to be able to feel the port through the skin after a mastectomy as the tissues are usually pretty thin. The port is more rigid then the rest of the tissue expander. The final permanent implants will be much softer. If the area is red, painful, swollen, or there is skin breakdown you should call/visit your surgeon. Good Luck, David A. Dear 1jojo222, Congratulations on choosing to have a breast reduction. I have found that patients are extremity satisfied afterwards. Overall, general anesthesia is very safe, especially when it's an elective scheduled procedure, like breast reduction surgery. You should discuss these concerns with your plastic surgeon who can help further ease your apprehensions. Regards, David A. Ehrlich, M.D. Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Philadelphia, PA
Hello maui151, Botox and Dysport come in a vacuum dried powder. The manufacturer recommends reconstituting it in preservative free saline shortly before administration. There is no alcohol used in the mixture. Some people may wipe the top of the vial with an alcohol pad to clean/sterilize the top of the vial before drawing up the botox/dysport into a syringe. This alcohol usually evaporates very quickly and is not introduced into the mixture. As alway alway discuss all your medications with your plastic surgeon before undergoing any treatment.
