So, I guess I wanted this surgery from about 12 years old?? When I noticed I was ‘different’ down there from my best friend and stuff you see online etc. Today I had the surgery! I really struggled to find a surgeon who was right for me and was considering traveling. I saw one surgeon for a consultation who really didn’t understand what I wanted and was going to use the wedge method which I knew wasn’t right for me but then I found Dr. Lazare and honestly could not recommend him more. I actually searched for months before I found him, I feel like he doesn’t advertise/promote this surgery much so his website never came up when I was looking. If you are in BC definitely check him out. His bedside manner was amazing and I felt so comfortable. I had the surgery under general anesthetic which I was more scared for than the actual surgery I think as, from what I had read, labiaplasty is mostly done under local. But I was in and out of the hospital in 4 hours. As you can see from my before pics, I had long labia minora but also an extra flap of skin just on one side which kind of dominated everything down there, this is mainly what you can see from the before pic. The plan was to completely take back this extra flap and also trim labia minora on both sides and remove any extra pubis (skin round/near clitoral hood) to make it all neat and in line. Hoping my recovery goes all smooth, can’t wait to see my results he said he was super happy with how the surgery went.

Had the surgery Friday and it’s now Sunday. I am very swollen but haven’t really had any pain. Think I stood up a bit too quickly yesterday and came across really dizzy but think this was a side affect from the anaesthetic.
I meant to say in my original post I had kind of accepted how I looked down there and it had never been painful but in the last 6 months everything began to chafe and really hurt and that was another decision in getting the surgery.
I think Dr Lazare has a profile on RealSelf now which I’m glad about as I don’t think he was on here when I was searching! He called me 24 hours after surgery to check in and see if I had any questions and we will have a follow up appointment around the 2 week mark :)

A week has gone fast and I’ve had no pain the whole time. Still very swollen and bruised and can’t wait for it all to go down, seems to be getting a little better every day. Finish my antibiotics today and will have a check up in about a weeks time! My extra ‘flap’ on one side has completely gone, I can’t even see the stitches where it was removed but I’m still uneven as there’s just so much swelling on the other side so just patiently waiting :)

Stitches are still visible (little white things you can see) and I think (?) I’m still a bit swollen, things looking a little uneven/bumpy but I know I’m being impatient! Have my follow up appointment in 2 days.

I had my 6 week check up last week and Dr said all was good. I have however healed unevenly and there’s still more skin on one side so he said I may qualify for a revision (not sure what this means in terms of me paying again etc.) but we will assess again at 3 months as I’m not fully healed. I think I would go for a revision as I would love for it to be perfect and it’s not yet for me, but still a drastic difference when you compare to before!

I just put these photos side my side so I could see for myself the difference and thought I would also upload here - it’s good to see this comparison and I will post further updates at my 3 month check up also :)

So I wasn’t 100% happy with the results and yesterday went in for my revision. These are my before pics, as you can see there’s still an extra bit of skin at the top which isn’t really connected to anything else. It’s the main thing you see when I’m standing and makes everything else a little lopsided. Fingers crossed for perfect results on round 2 :)

Surgery went v smoothy and feel like my swelling and pain is no where near the level of the first surgery (and it’s wasn’t very bad the first time) - maybe as I didn’t have so much removed the second time. I’m definitely more swollen on the one side but majority of the work was done on the one side and just a little more of a trim on the other side’s labia. Dr Lazare is great. Hopeful for straightforward healing :)

Bruising and swelling really came out on day 2/3 but overall pain has not been bad at all. Lots of stitches to heal and dissolve so just going to continue to take it easy :) happy with the progress so far

Day 10 feeling ok! Think I’m still a bit swollen, still lots and lots of stitches visible. Not bruised anymore. Had my first bath today which was nice feel so much cleaner now after a little soak. Finished antibiotics today too.
