I’ve had double chin because of weight gain and about 5 months ago, I did chin lipo. But it still looked like I had excess skin/fat under the chin. I went to the clinic in Santa Clarita California to get some Botox and fillers and I asked the doctor about kybella and he said that I am a good candidate for it. And today was my first session. No joke, I look like a bullfrog right now. I schedule my next session in 4 weeks and I can’t wait to see a bigger improvement on the second treatment!
I had my first injection of Kybella today. I just turned 26 years old and I've always had a bit of fat under my chin regardless of my weight. I found other people's reviews helpful so I thought I would pass it forward and try to do the same thing. The actual injection took no more than 10 minutes. I did get a little light headed after the injections were done. I think I was nervous or the position I was holding my head sort of got to me. It came and passed quickly and I drove home with no issues. The needle pricks were not painful, but a few minutes after the injections a burning sensation comes on. It really isn't a horrible pain, but being prepared for it is helpful. I went home and iced and took some ibuprofen and feel a lot better now. I've been icing on and off and wearing the chin strap since I got home this afternoon. I swelled up almost immediately after my injection. 4 vials were used today. It is too soon to tell if the procedure was worth it or not. I'm hopeful for great results! I'll try to update regularly. Updated on 30 Dec 2016: It's been about 26 hours since my 1st Kybella appointment. I'm swollen and a bit sore and have some tiny bruises. My doctor called to check in on me and reassured me that my recovery was normal. 600 mg of ibuprofen every 8 hours along with ice and a compression strap on and off throughout the day seem to help with the discomfort. Thankfully I'm off of work so I took the day easy and got a lot of sleep. Updated on 31 Dec 2016: I'm now on day 3 or about 48 hours post injection. The swelling hasn't gotten worse from yesterday, but I noticed there is a large yellowish bruise near the bottom of the treatment area. I didn't see it until I was in natural light and looked in a mirror. The tiny purple bruises haven't changed. The area really only hurts when it is touched or I turn my head too far. It's still not as bad as I thought it might be. I was prepared for the worst. This is the first time I've done any type of cosmetic procedure so it's been a little unnerving. I have high hopes though! I'll continue to ice and use the strap. I'm wearing a scarf to hide my neck a little since this is my first day having to go out into the world since my injections! Happy New Year! Updated on 1 Jan 2017: I find I'm in the most discomfort right when I wake up in the morning. Ibuprofen seems to do the trick. The area is still numb to the touch and swelling seems to be the same as yesterday. The yellowish bruise has spread but it's really only noticeable if you look for it. I'm really hoping this was all worth it. I'm feeling eager for results. I know it's only been 3 days since the injections, but I'm getting a tad impatient! I'm tired of the discomfort and swelling. Updated on 5 Jan 2017: It's been a week now and I finally feel somewhat normal. There is some swelling but I don't feel like a monster anymore. The bruises are basically gone and the pain has subsided. There is some numbness, but it is tolerable.
