He was very nice and understanding at my consult. He met with me twice to make sure all my concerns were clear prior to surgery. He has a good sense of humor to try and lighten the awkwardness of him touching on you. Updated on 21 Oct 2018: Today has been a really good day. I showered by myself. I have a shower chair and hand held shower head. Both of these I found to be a must have! I also was finally able to go to “the bathroom”. I started stool softeners two days prior to surgery which made it easier. My only complaint it the drain tubes! They hurt. They hurt worse then the incisions. I have covered them with maxi pads to reduce the friction from the compression garments rubbing. I have cut back on my pain meds. Although I did become dehydrated and had a really bad headache. I’ll be continually adding to this experience. And seeing pictures of my boobs... I’m amazed at how good they look!! Along with my belly!
I am currently coming up on 6 weeks post op for a breast reduction. No complications, everything healed up so well, like magic! I went from 34H to 34C (5’6” 169lb). I had very heavy, dense tissue for years and years. If only I had done it sooner! Dr. Babycos and his staff are the best! I’m funny about pictures online but will try to post some. Best decision I ever made! Updated on 14 Sep 2018: Ive had a great recovery thus far...almost 3 full months and they re looking great, feeling great, doing great! Best decision I ever made. I have one more follow up in 3 weeks. Updated on 24 Jan 2019: Yesterday was my final post op visit as a last look to see how everything healed up. It is fantastic! Free and clear, and officially finished in the process. Many many thanks to Dr. Babycos and staff at Ochsner!
I am currently a 38 G and I have a long history of back pain. It feels great knowing I am finally doing something about it. Getting approved by my insurance was not as difficult as I though because I have a really great PCP. Now I have a surgery date of 6/11/2018 with Dr Christopher Babycos. I am excited and looking forward to posting my after surgery pictures. Updated on 28 Jun 2018: Spent the past few weeks resting to reduce swelling and control stitches reopening. I was told to take baths daily after 48hrs but it caused the tape to come off and the day I went to my post op my breast began to swell. When I got home my incision had opened and were draining because the drains were removed. I am worried that my scars will be horrible when everything is healed.
Dr. Christopher Babycos is an amazing doctor. As soon as he walked in the office I felt an ease and comfort with him. I don't know ow if doctors should have fans or not but I am a fan. He helped me understand what would be done and he assured me that he would help me find the comfort I needed through this breast reduction. On the day of the surgery he was kind, warm and funny. He has a light sense of humor and he carries a presence of peace and joy. He also doesn't like to look at these reviews but I told him anyway that I saw only good things about him and I would add to those good things. If you need a plastic surgeon, Dr. Babycos is the way to go. I have already recommended him to three people and one of them has a surgery scheduled in May. You won't be sorry.
He's such a wonderful doctor he made me feel comfortable happy and I was pleased with my results I never was nervous or either afraid the staff was very joyful very pleasant and very informal always courteous clean and professional I had my surgery on March 14th 2017 and it is my one-week after surgery I would recommend anyone to Dr babycos
My motivation was my son who is 1 I noticed that since becoming a mom I would have to become more active with my son. With large breast that was difficult so I decided to get a breast reduction. I can't wait to do cartwheels and flips for him. I also decided to have the breast reduction to enhance my workout performance like doing other exercises besides just walking. I am ready to jump rope jog longer and just be pain free. Updated on 25 Mar 2016: Surgery date march 3, 2016 went for checkup doctor said im healing and no infections i still have lifting restrictions overall i feel great but my right boob is taking little longer to heal than my left boob. My doctor recommend to use bactricien ointment and cover the wound. My nipples are 100 % healed just under my right boob is not healed like the left side
Hello everyone!!!!!! I will be writing about my story soon and everything counting down to my surgery. Please feel free to write and ask questions... Will be adding pics as well. Please bear with me. I wanna make sure I have enough time to but everything together and not have it out of order lol. Once I start posting I will try to get this blog updated as much as I can. Everything comes right to my phone. Updated on 31 Mar 2015: Hello everyone!! I have been on here reading lots of peoples journeys and I'm finally gonna write mine.. I'm 24 years of age no kids and a 48J.. My boobs have always been big all my life. My boobs were a full C by the time I made 8 years old. Just think of my pain :-(.. I would always find myself wearing a bra with two sports bras to try and cover them up.. I would have horrible headaches and back pain. As I started to get older it just got worst.. I have lost weight and everything my boobs never go anywhere. By the time I made it to high school I was way past a DD.. They just still kept growing. I have seen doctors about my pain and skin problems because of my boobs. Nothing seems to have helped. Now things r looking up. Updated on 31 Mar 2015: I have been to about 3 PS to seek about a BR.. The first two I went to was in Texas. I was 23 at the time and having lots of problems. I went to find out what could be done and how much.. One doctor told me it would take about 6 hours for my surgery and he gave me a price of $12,000.. I didn't have that kind of me and was scared with the fact he told me 6 hours. The other doctor was a little bothered with my viens in my boobs. So I let it go and I figured I could deal with it. I been having boobs all my life. My pain was getting worst. Just buying advil ,Tylenol ,ibuprofen and stuff like that wasn't helping. I had to get my PCP to prescribe me something for the pain. That can only get u so far... I waited a whole year before I went to see a new PS in kenner LA about having a BR.. Back and neck was killing me . I started to get shooting pains in my back to where I couldn't move or do anything. I really needed help, sleeping At night was getting worst for me. Headaches all the time and back pain. Something had to be done. Updated on 31 Mar 2015: So I was looking online at new Orleans PS and ran across Dr. Christopher R. Babycos MD.. I read a couple of his reviews and decided to go ahead and schedule an appointment with him. it took about a week from the date I made the call for my appointment. once I got their staff was friendly waited about 30 minutes before I was called to the back to visit with PS. once in the back everything was going well we discussed my options and we talked about besides that he could possibly get me to. we also discuss some of my past history with my breasts. once he finished the exam he had informed me that he was going to submit my paperwork to my insurance and at that point it was a waiting. I believe about 4 to 6 weeks. about weeks after my appointment I received a call from the plastic surgeons office informing me that my insurance denied my breast reduction. I was very upset and heartbroken. I figured at that point I was just going to leave it be and try to lose some weight exercise because everybody was saying if you lose weight your boobs will go down. so once I was denied I decided to start working on me. I started making some life changes by changing the things I ate how often I worked out overall things to kind of help to deal with my pain. I actually windup going back to my primary care physician to actually let her know I need a refill on my prescription because I still couldn't deal with the pain and things were getting Worst. at this point it had been about 10 months since I had seen the plastic surgeon about my breast reduction. once I got to her office she had asked me about some things that I changed what got worse and was getting better and she informed me that I actually needed to do something about my boobs to help with my pain. she then wrote me a referral to go and see the plastic surgeon. at this point I said hey couldn't hurt any so I go ahead and give it a try since I already did it before maybe it will go through this time since I was preferred. scheduled my appointment to go back and see the plastic surgeon and that was about 4 days after seeing my PCP. once I got to my appointment to see the plastic surgeon about the second consultation with him we had discussed my weight loss and how my boobs we're actually pulling on my chest. and actually started to improve everything I made my life changes that needed to be made but nothing was working. he didn't really understand why I was denied the first time as I am a perfect candidate for the surgery we discuss those things. as always he was very professional informative and supportive. always made me feel welcomed in the office and any questions I have had answered for me and if I needed any additional information I was always able to call is fast or email him to find out anything that I need to know. once we finish discussing but possible sizing of my boobs and things like that in the options I had he wants to get them for me to take me a little while he was going to submit the claim to my insurance and we would go from there. so at this point it was a waiting game. Updated on 31 Mar 2015: Before I got my referral to plastic surgeon the second time I begin my weight loss journey. My boobs was a 38J 10 months later I'm a 42H. But once I started my weight lost things didn't get better. I started to feel worst. My boobs really started to pull down on my chest back and neck started to hurt even more. My weight lost was good but not all the way. By the time I went back to doctor I lost a good amount of weight. Updated on 31 Mar 2015: I wanna say about a week after my appointment iwas approved. I have got the call from plastic surgeons office letting me know that I was approved and which date I wanted to have my surgery. April 27 2015 was my day and now I am waiting for big day to get here!!!! I'm super happy its finally gonna happen for me.. I took some pics this morning of my boobs with out a bra since my weight lost that I will post. Keep in mind I always sleep with a bra on. Very hard for me not too. Updated on 31 Mar 2015: This is what I'm dealing with now. Updated on 28 Apr 2015: Had surgery yesterday. I absolutely loved my ps. Pic will be posted soon. Am a lil tired right now. Updated on 29 Apr 2015: Just gonna post a little not too much I'm still tired and sore Updated on 29 Apr 2015: I'm in a little pain I try and stay on top of it. I'm ready for the drains to come out lol. They are in the way all the time. I'm not sure what my new boob size is but I love them. I don't feel that pressure on my chest or shoulders and more. Updated on 29 Apr 2015: I'll write more soon as I feel a lil better Updated on 2 May 2015: So I must day the only thing I hate is the drains. They are so much pain, they hurt if I move around to much. I haven't seen my scars yet or nipples. I'll see them when I go to doctor for my week followup. Im so happy I went through with this. They are awesome so for!!! Updated on 3 May 2015: Ok so my left drain has been leaking a lot. Not juts the drain the site has been leaking too. Couple days ago I had to go to er because I had a high fever and a headache that wouldn't leave. I been monitoring my temp making sure it doesn't go up. the last two days I've been feeling my boobs and light switches in my left and right more so on the right then the left. I do notice that my incision site for my right drain was bleeding that is stopped. my temp has been fine until I feel fine right now but I just took it is 99.3. I'm hoping that it does not go back up and it goes back into the normal range I've been taking my antibiotics and drinking lots of water. I do have a slight headache right now hope it goes away. Updated on 7 May 2015: So its been two days since I got my drains out. I'm not having any pain just some weird little twitches every now and then in each side.I didn't get a free nipple graph so my nipples were not removed. I have noticed that my right nipple gets hard and I have a little more feeling there then the left. the left nipple is what is trying to perk up but not totally. I must say I love my new boobs my scar isn't too bad.I had some bruising on my left side underneath the boob but it looks like it's clearing up I will be posting pictures as soon as I can. I am now in a sports bra it doesn't have a size its just large. soon as I find out what size I meant I'll let you all know I did go to victorias secret to get measured and she measured me at a 44 C. but I did go to my doctor the day after and I was told not to go off of her measurement because they will still go down because I'm a little swollen. but I am in love with my boobs plastic surgeon did a great job. the only thing I want to know about if when should I start sleeping on my stomach again I'm kind of scared to just start sleeping on my stomach because I feel like I'm going to pop something. Updated on 9 May 2015: Just some pics to show.. Updated on 1 Jun 2015: Hey ladies I'm loving my boobs. Sorry so late with the reply been busy. Ok so my right nipple is like always hard lol. It get hard asap. My left one takes time to get hard but it gets there. I haven't got any scar cream yet but I go to doctor on the 10th and this will be my follow up appointment that clears me to do everything hopefully lol. I can't wait to go bathing suit shopping. Oh I forgot my left breast just always feel so heavy. Idk y ilk ask when I go on the 10th.
I had Dr Babycos in the New Orleans area HE DID A GREAT JOB IN MY OPINION. As with any surgery and is just being women we study things and say this could have been a little better r that could have been a little more this way. However at the end of the day I love my results. From the beginning I said IM DOING IT BECAUSE I WANT TO FEEL BETTER Bit because of how I want to look. I went from a 34H to a 34d and I feel great. It still gets a little sore where my tubes were but for the most part no complaints. I also didn't have much scaring and I didn't use any scaring creams. Hats off to Dr BABYCOS AT OCHSNER
Before I start I want to thank everyone for their encouraging stories, you ladies are amazing :) Like others, I have been surfing this website and reading many different stories that have inspired me for quite some time. I am 25yrs/ 5'6'/ 162lbs/ 38DD. I have been suffering from large breast since i can remember. It became real noticable in high school.(THAT JUST CAME OUT OF NO WHERE) I was always known as "the girl with the big breast" which I hated! All four years of high school I stayed active (dancing, sports, etc) and my breast have always been a problem with that. I suffer with severe back pains, cervical neck pains, and headaches on a daily basis. I have been considering a breast reduction for many years now (probably since high school). I was a dancer, but having big breast always slowed me down, making things more difficult. i couldn't fit into costumes anymore because my breast size wasnt carried:( So after many thoughts, here i am in the process of having breast reduction surgery. I would like to become a full B-small C, but at my consultation with my PS, he thought is was best for me to be a full C; so I will trust his judgement. I had tried to have a breat reduction in 2009 but the insurance i was with at the time (BCBS) denied me; this was in tacoma, wa. I didnt put up a fight, i just felt that maybe that was a sign that i didnt need the breast reduction, so i chickened out and left the breast reduction surgery alone. Instead i just did a couple weeks of physical therapy and went to my chiropractor thinking maybe some how this will "cure" my pains (THINK AGAIN!!) Now it's 2012 and I have had more backpains, headache and neck pains than before. I'm really tied of being in pain and so when I moved back home (new orleans, la) i found a really good PCP, I explained to her about my pains, she put me on pain meds, gave me anti-inflammatory injections and also set me up with a great physical therapist twice a week. I mentioned to her about me having breast reduction, she agreed 100% and found me a nice PS. Next was getting the consult and hopefully getting approved by my ins comp. Updated on 16 Jan 2013: It's been a while since i've written a post. I have had my consult with the PS back in Sept 2012 and he was very reassuring. He answered all my questions clearly, didnt rush anything which was great, i felt very comfortable with him. I told me he would be taking about 900 grams from my breast! he told me i would not have to stay overnight at the hospital, told me i would have drains put in for a couple days, explained the pros and cons of this procedure also. He alsomentioned that my breat was about 4lbs a piece (YIKES) and he would remove 2lbs from each breast. I told him i would just Love and Hope to be a full "B cup", he insured me that it would be hard to determine exact what cup i would be but he thinks more of a full "C cup" would fit my frame ...i said ok but i plan on talking more about that during my pre-op appointment. So the office took pictures of my breast and He told me he was really sure my insurance would approve my right away, im a good canidate for this surgery and he would be very specific in his dictation letter. He made me feel better. I think he would be really good surgeon, so far i have met four different people who have had this procedure done by him including two nurses i work with, one lady at my physical therapy office and another lady who i have never bet but when i went to my consultation that day, she was there getting her post-op visit, she ask me what i was here for, i told her and she was VERY eager to show my her new boobies lol, she actual came and kncoked on my door at the PS while i was waiting and showed my a sneak peek of her new scars (it was kinda weird! lol)...but she reassured my that he was a great PS and i would love the result!, i was just more of a nervous wreck after that lol...the nurse at my job just hugged me and told m everything was going to be great, she couldnt be more happier so that felt good to know :)... so everything was initially submitted to my insurance company that same day in the office back in SEPT2012, and about a week later i got a cll from the PS office that i needed addtional document with the next 72 hours! WHAT?!?, I couldn't make an appointment with my PCP or get and medical records from tacoma, wa in that time frame, myphysical therapist had already written a letter for me but that letter got " mystery misplaced" in the PS office. So basically only a dictation letter from the PS was submitted to my insurance which led to my denial. So i got on the phone with humana and explained to them that i needed more time to get these additional documents, the nurse i soke with was very nice, she explained to me why i was denied ( one reason was that they didnt see any rashes on my breast from the pictures that was submitted) i was like what the hell?? I explained to the nurse my medical history and she told me pretty much if i could get "PROOF" i could do an appeal and resubmit everything, it's like starting all over ...geeesshhhh!!!! But after being denied by my insurance company (HUMANA) to cover my breast reduction back in Oct 2012...i was told to do more physical therapy (which ive been doing off and on for years), I also needed to fax additional document. I got my PCP to write and medical neccessiy letter along with my physical therapist. I had to request different docs from my therapist back in tacoma, wa (2009) also for my history of back, neck and shoulder pains to my current insurance company stating ive taken pain meds and anti-inflammatories, and different meds for rashes on my breast :( nothing helped! So after requesting different additional documents for the insurance company, i had to wait another TWO MONTHS to resubmit everything back to th PS office because of the thanksgiving, Xmas and New Years holiday because the PS was already booked for the rest of the year. So I was told my their office to wait until Jan2013 to submit my additional documents for an appeal (SIGH) ....So after waiting about THREE LONG MONTHS..i finally faxed over the addition documents needed to the PS office on 01/09/13 and received a call from the PS office on the morning of 01/15/13 stating i have been APPROVED by my insurance for the surgery! I was sooo happy, it was such a relieve to know that the long wait for approval is over and this is really soon to be happening. The nurse at the PS office stating that i will be getting a call sometime before the end of this week to schedule my pre-op appointment! i believe today it just hit me all at one time and i'm a bit nervous! lol My girls are really going to my leaving me soon lol Updated on 24 Jan 2013: Hello ladies! I have finally got the nerve up to post my first pictures showing how HUGE my girls are. You women are all so brave and i'm so happy i have this website to help me through this because I am FREAAKING OUT!. I had my pre-op done on 1/17/13, we went over instructions on me having drains put in, (which im sort of nervous about)..the procedure again...i had blood work done and also some additional photos taken at the hospital which was across the street from the PS office; where i'll be having my procedure done. I was a nervous wreck the whole day! But everyone in the office was so pleasant and that helped alot.! We scheduled my procedure date for Feb.21st (OMG) and i was given instructions on what to do before and after the procedure. I still can't believe this is happening, i am sooo nervous..scared...anxious!! i have never had any type of surgery before and going under general anesthesia is freaking me OUT! I have questions that i really need help answering please: What should I do before surgery, is their any supplements i should take prior into going in? What is a good bra for post-op? How did you ladies deal with the general anesthesia?? Updated on 21 Feb 2013: Well my surgery is today..its scheduled for 3pm and i have to be at the hospital for 1:45p..im so calm but anxious..sounds crazy right!? lol i think it will really hit me once im actually on my way there in the car.OMG!! My surgery was yesterday, i'm one day post op. Everything went really well, I've just been sleeping alot. My girls are def alot smaller and i'm in love!! ;) I will try to post some post op pics once i'm up and moving around and tell you guys about how the surgery went for beginning to end. Thank you all for tge goodluck, sending my hugs to everyone, I will be updating shortly! Feeling good today ;)) Updated on 24 Feb 2013: Really quick random update, I am now 26 years old. ok I just wanted to tell you guys about my surgery experience. I had to be at the hospital for 1:45pm and my surgery was scheduled for 3:00pm. I'm staying a hour away from the hospital with my boyfriend and his family for recovery so I had to leave a little earlier to be on time for arrival. When I got to the hospital I went to same day surgery. My boyfriend and my grandma arrived with me and later my mother, aunt and bestfriend arrived. I checked in, sign my consents and waited to be called. I didn't have to wait long at all. The nurse called my back and had my urinate in a cup. Once i did, she ordered me to get undressed and put into the hospital gown. They started my IV and strapped my legs with the little air compressions to prevent blood clots. I had two nurses who were really sweet, they asked a bunch of questions and once they were finish they brought my family into the room with me :). Shortly afterwards the residental doctor came in and had my sign consents, ask a bunch of questions and told me he will be working with Dr. Babycos (my surgeon) during my procedure. Once he was done, Dr. Babycos came in and did his final markings on me. He asked me what size I wanted to be again, I begged him for a B cup, he and the nurse looked at me like I was crazy lol, they thought that would be too small for my height and frame. So I told him I wanted to stay as far away from a D cup as possible. He agreed and thought a Small C cup would be a great size for me. I wanted them as small as possible because I haven't had any kids yet. He insured me that he will get me as small as he can :) . So once he was done with his markings, I just waited for the anesthesia nurse and doctor to come in. They explained the risks of anethesia and everything and had me sign MORE papers lol. Then became the waiting game, my surgeon explained to me that their was a quick case (surgery) in the OR before my surgery and that I would probably go in the OR around 3:30pm, well 3:30pm came and went and I was still waiting and my family was getting a bit anxious and so was I lol, But around 3:45pm, the nurse and surgeon came in and said that they will be ready for me in 5 mins, (I guess the case before me took longer than planned). But then me and my family said our temporary goodbyes or see you soon talk. And off to sugery I went. I was a bit nervous so before they road me out the room on the bed, the nurse gave me some meds to calm me down, and boy it def worked! All I remember after that was being put on the OR table strapped down and ask to breath in oxygen, I was knocked out after that!! lol The next thing I remember is a recovery nurse waking me up and immediately asking me what was my pain level from 1-10, it was about an 8, my left breast was on fire way more than my right one. She gave my two pills to take and put something in my IV, I then had realized how sore my throat was from the tube being down it during surgery, It was kinda hard to swallow. My pain level then went to about a 5, she ask if I wanted some juice and then brought my bed into a private recovery room. After a few questions she bought my family in and everyone was just excited and happy to see me. The nurse showed me how to drain my drains and told me my surgery was only about 1 1/2 to 2 hours long but I was really hard to wake up durung recovery. My family was trying to talk to me and I was falling fast asleep on every word lol. They ask me did I want to stay overnight and I didn't, so shortly came time to be discharged, it was about 9pm or a little later. My boyfriend got my prescribtion filled and once I took my first pain pill, the burning feeling went right away and I was sound asleep again I am now Post Op day 3 and I am feeling pretty good. I had a little dizziness the first day but by day two I was walking around a bit. I'm taking my antibiotics and pain meds. I'm trying to not take my pains meds as much and maybe just start taking tylenol because I don't want to become constipated ( which I think I might because I haven't had a BM since before surgery), but I am drinking plenty of water and eating light foods and fresh fruit. I am happy I have done this surgery. My surgeon was awesome! He stated that my breast was about 4lbs a piece and that he will be taking off 2lbs from each, but after surgery he told my family he took off 3lbs a piece which is soooo exciting to me because I really wanted them small as possible!. I didn't get to see him after surgery but I have my first post op appointment with him on Wednesday Feb. 27th, and I will be getting my drains out that day. the drains aren't too bad. They help alot with swelling. I haven't have much come from the left breast as I do th right. But It's starting to look more clear so I'm guessing that's a good thing. Overall very happy and truely blessed, healing pretty good and more bruising is also good too. Hope everyone is healing well and goodluck to everyone on the pre-op side. this surgery has helped immedicately with my back, shoulder, and neck pains, it was really worth it, can't wait to go shopping!!! I look sooo much smaller now :) I have updated to new post op pics! ~ QUESTION ~ what should I do about constipation????
After 160# weight loss, I'm getting a Fleur De Lis Panniculectomy with lipo to thighs & 6 weeks later getting a thigh lift. I would love to hear from anyone near me especially anyone who has had my surgeon on in the general New Orleans area. Before pics will be taken & posted soon.
