4 December 2018 I had my breast augmentation. First consultation was 2016 and I knew immediately that he would be the plastic surgeon I went with. All I can say is THANK YOU Dr Patel!!! I am extremely happy with the results of the surgery and how Dr Patel handled the entire process from start to finish. I would highly recommend him!!
I had a tattoo removed and the scar healed beautiful it is barely noticeable . Dr Patel managed my expectations really well , he explained the procedures and gave me a lot of great advice , for me to choose the procedure that was right for me .
The most important thing to me, which I found with Dr Patel was trust and the confidence in his abilities and aftercare advice and service if needed. After the first consultation I realised this was a caring surgeon who listened, advised and talked me through the whole procedure and what was possible and what to expect. The entire process was a great success. Dr Patel is realistic about individual expectations and yet his work superseded mine. Also his attention to detail and after care was more than I could have hoped for. Most Definetly, not only the best and most skilled to my mind, but also a genuine and caring practitioner of what he does best.
Athlete with Well Formed Pectorals
My weight has fluctuated for most my life and with that came big sagging breasts. Not only was it uncomfortable and unsightly, it was expensive, as with big sagging breasts came the bra's that cost close to a home loan. It made my low self-esteem even lower. Before the procedure, I found it embarrassing to wear a costume or even a low cut top in case it bought too much attention, after the procedure my life has changed. I am more confident in myself and I'm not afraid to wear the wrong thing in case a boob pops out. I had little to no pain after the procedure and the aftercare with the scarring was easy to follow and works wonders. Now my scars are getting lighter and my breasts feel like mine.
Dr Patel is one of a kind. He looked after me right from the beginning. His work has turned out better than I could have ever expected. I will go back to Dr Patel if I decide to have more surgeries in the future.
Much needed breast enlargement. Basically had the breasts of teen. There are definite cons in having the procedure which the Doctor discussed in detail. The benefits outweigh them by far. Procedure was done and recovery quick. Doctor implanted the silicone. Really worth every moment of discomfort I may have had.
Plastic surgery cannot give you perfection and things go wrong, you can get disappointed by your results and expectations. I was so scared to go through this psychological and physically crippling outcome after 6 months of having an open wound and being stuck with this horrible scar and indentation.... this was the opposite of what I had done this for, I thought I was being punished for my vanity and I was so depressed. In January 2016 I decided to see Dr Chetan Patel to see what we could do if we could fix my SITUATION. He explained that the whole procedure was going to be repeated all be it to a lesser extent!! I freaked out and started sweating profusely. He said he had never seen a patient have such a physical reaction (fear) to anything before!! I truly was petrified. I did however trust this Dr, and went ahead with it, it was polar opposite of before!! Easy easy easy, don’t get me wrong pain is pain but nothing like the 1st op. I also got some lipo to my saddle bags and hips as my hips were asymmetrical after the first op and dog ear revision on the hips also. The saddle bags needed one additional lipo session as they were quite lumpy and not flattering, we scheduled another session in the office under local. Only God made me perfect but Dr Patel made me whole again.
I had lost quite a bit of weight in 2011 and 2012 - 17kilos to be precise. Obviously, my neck and face dropped with the weight. Being young at heart, I felt like I looked a lot older than I felt so had been considering having a face lift for a few years. I decided to just go for it and went for a few consultations with various surgeons and decided on Dr Patel. Best decision I every made as he knew exactly what I wanted and his kind and considerate manner won me over. The procedure was much less painful than I expected it to be, in fact I had very little pain afterwards and took pain killers for a few days after the procedure more as a precaution than for actual pain. I would say I felt more uncomfortable than in pain. The recovery time was two weeks 'hiding' from the public and six weeks to heal well enough that no one noticed that I had anything done - other than to comment that I looked a lot 'fresher and less tired and a good few years younger'! Some people have asked me if I have been away on a long relaxing holiday! This suits me as I did not want to look like I had had a major face lift. I still wanted to look natural and this is exactly what I got. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Patel for any cosmetic procedure and would most certainly go back to him, should I require or decide to have any further procedures of a similar nature.
I am quite narrow in the hips but with a decent sized bootay, so I'm after boobage to match the booty lol! I've never had much upper pole fullness either, always had more under volume, so definitely want to experience some of that lush upper pole fullness if possible. The doctor recommended 375 cc but since reading many ladies speak of "boob greed" I'm thinking to climb the ladder to 435-450 cc.. Mentor, smooth, round, HP Updated on 4 Dec 2015: Hi ladies, I'm not sure if anyone will read my review but I feel I owe it to this marvelous community to share my story since so many of your stories have helped me tremendously along my journey & perhaps in doing so I will help someone along theirs. In the past few weeks I've yo-yo'd between implant sizes/shapes and finally settled on 400-450cc HP, then when i went in for my pre-op yesterday, my BA insists-after measuring me-that my chest fat/skin should only hold 375-400 max cc and that going above could be risky somehow...he explained it quickly with alot of medical jargon, but basically that if the implant is too large it can drop beneath the fold and cause it to flip around supposedly. I told him i'm still pretty set on 425 in the larger left boob and 450 in the right smaller, but we agreed that he will bring all sizes 375-450cc into the surgery and try them on, that I will trust his good judgement to make the right decision suited for my body type seeing as I've appointed him my "breast sculptor" lol. Getting all my scripts over weekend, planning to cook some meals on Monday for the 4 days post op. Updated on 7 Dec 2015: I hope all you December ladies are well...my thoughts and prayers are with everyone who's in surgery today. I must say I'm not nearly so anxious about the surgery itself as I am about the aftermath/recovery period... Just picked up all my scripts, shopped food for the week and cooked a few meals to tide me over the first few days. I'm wondering if i should take everything down from higher shelves in the kitchen/fridge/bedroom closets to avoid reaching up. Too paranoid? lol... Updated on 8 Dec 2015: Oh boy it's done!!! Man I am thrilled beyond estatic. I have wanted this for so long, can't believe I managed to finish the journey, though I understand the journey has only just begun in some ways :-)..but bring it on I say. Doctor was fantastic, he checked me a few hours later and said besides usual swelling they're looking great. Showed me a few exercises to do (not massages btw those come later) which I was able to do with him and he was impressed.. In the end he decided with 375cc in my left larger boob and 400cc in the right. Poor righty has always lived in her big sister's shadow so I'm rather pleased she gets to stand up to her sista!!!! Lol I'm such a dork but also probably high on these pain killers ???????????? Overall I'm pleased as punch...sure I may develop boob greed in a while after these chicks "drop and fluff" but hey anything is better than what i had. I've given birth to 2 newborn babies and mama is gonna show them so nice TLC & shower them with affection lol... I'm fading ... Lots of love to all of you, & all the best to everyone still pre-op as well as to all is ladies now in recovery. We got this [RS bleep]!!!! ???????????? Mwa Mwa Mwa!!!!!! Updated on 9 Dec 2015: I slept back home last night and it felt so great to be back in my own comfy bed, surrounded by my pillows and fan on me (it's summer down under in SA ladies) My PS has not given me a band to wear to push them down; instead he show me some exercises to do which loosen up and stretch out the upper sternum. I have to say my flat mate and beat friend has been wonderful. She will never read or see this but I want to put her name In lights. She checked up on me constantly during my clinic stay, bought me hot/cold packs from Clicks which I used in my hot/swollen boobs already twice (they are the bomb!!!!!) and we are now in an exercise routine where she helps me stretch out several time a day. She leaves by 6 to beat traffic for work, but peaked her head in my bedroom and made me get up to perform the exercises with her before she rushed off...aww...that's love! I have only told 3 friends of my decision, 2 girlfriends & 1 is a guy, & they have all been marvelous and supportive. I am truly blessed. Updated on 11 Dec 2015: hi all you lush ladies...hows everyone feeling? We're having heat waves in Jozi...my word, reaching temperatures of 36-38 Celsius which is unusual, even though we do always have hot summers. I think these babies are generating more than the usual swelling and heat due to the weather!!!! *gasp* I grew up in Thailand so I'm used to heat but haven't experienced this kinda weather in over 6 years. I don't see much diff in the boobie department at all but I'll post a few from this morning, attempts at dressing them up pretty lol... Went in for my first post op visit and my PS says all is on track and he's happy with how they look. Will go in again next Friday and he removes the itchy tape rib cage band and I get to start scar treatment and tape. yippee!!! :-) Lots of love and holiday vibes to all of you girls [RS bleep] Updated on 13 Dec 2015: I am so thankful for this site & community & all the thoughtful women who took Time to update & track their progress & write thorough, detailed reports. It's such a blessing & I can say A part of me thinks I probably wouldn't have gone through with my BA were it not for the wealth of information & guidance found on Real Self. So with that in mind, anther quick update of post op day 5, in hopes that it may help someone currently or months/years down the line. There's no significant change going on at this point that I can tell anyway & perhaps I'm just an extremely impatient person (I know I am lol...no illusions here) but I kinda hoped they'd be morphing a bit or softening already but nope I have the typical "rocks on chest", "restrictive breathing immediately post wake up" experience still...all ways to describe that lovely feeling we've affectionately termed "morning boob." More like boobs from the dark side hehehe My doctor gave me specific exercises to perform several times daily which I know are contributing to my general healing process, ability to reach in all directions painlessly and almost effortlessly, so ladies, ask ur doc if there r any specific moves they recommend; truly a lifesaver. These r NOT Boob massages btw. Those come later. Another tip for sleeping, using an airplane pillow for my neck has helped immensely as has sleeping with a pillow under my knees. I take an hour long walk daily which helps keep me regular and in positive spirits besides trying to remain active. adding 1 heaping table spoon of linseed powder to yogurt, juice or water is amazing for skipping constipation. Only experienced that slightly on day 2. That's all I can think of for now...more to follow in time. Happy healing all you booilicious babes xx Updated on 22 Dec 2015: Hello lovely fellow boob queens...today is my 14th day post op, time for a quick check in. On my last visit to Dr Patel he cleared me for scar treatment which I was happy about; I apply the gel over tape twice daily and change it daily after showering. So far I'm real happy with my incision results and was amazed how he managed to fit 400cc through that tiny slit. My doctor doesn't recommend massages, he doesn't discourage it but says they aren't necessarily connected to the implants dropping any sooner/later than women who don't massage, but rather that getting back to regular physical duties and normal routines are responsible for breast normalization. In any case he said I can do the massaging if it provides comfort and eases the tightness--which is does--so I am happily massaging and continuing regular stretches daily. I see a slight difference compared to last week, not much though, but I'm too critical. Definitely they have softened somewhat, i can push them together till they touch already and there is progress to be sure. Sleeping on my back horizontally and side sleeping still out of the question, I'm doing alright with my sleeping station though I wake around 6 am and still experience some typical morning boob. Ugh. To those of us doing this over Christmas holidays,, we are such lucky ladies...I believe I couldn't have picked a better time to recoup and can pick up with my regular activities/physical routines as slowly as I want with no stress. My surgeon has cleared me for brisk walking, swimming, and any lower body exercises without weights, i.e lunges, squats, some mat work etc which I'm so grateful for. I would go insane without workout, I'm such a hopeless gym junkie...still, I've gained an additional 5lb through the whole ordeal but no pain (avoiding gym) no gain (beautiful boobies) am I right or am I right? Overall I am so thrilled and happy I went through with this and for now am rather content with my size believe it or not. Booby greed hasn't struck yet but who knows, perhaps it will creep up on me in time I'll the piccies speak for themselves. Hope everyone post op are fine and in good spirits and happy healing to all of us who've made it to the other side. Merry Christmas to you all [RS bleep] Updated on 7 Jan 2016: Hi all you wonder women in boobieland...and let me first say Happy New year everyone!!! My 1 month mark was officially on Tuesday-and all the pics are from that date- except the bikini shots...they are 25 days post op. I honestly can't see much difference between the 25 day and 30 day shots. I've noticed they started softening and squishing ALOT within this last week, much to my happiness; however, Miss righty still seems to have a mind of her own (more sore, firm and riding higher than her sister), true to her nature of always being my recalcitrant boob forever lol. No new story there!! I had mondors chord under my right boob for 2 weeks (from all I've read it's fairly common and nothing to freak out about. if you get it, speak to your surgeon...mine told me to get some over counter anti inflammatory s) as well which is pretty much gone, so I have to be fair and cut her slack. IT could be a big contributer to her lagging behind in progress. Something strange happened the other day which I've read on many other women's reviews: my scars were slightly bubbly and sore so I did as my surgeon suggested and pressed down all along the incision and could feel a noticeable popping; I continued popping on both sides until they were completely flat. It wasn't painful as much as it was just the weirdest sensation. Afterwards it seemed the right breast loosened up overnight and by morning i also noticed it had dropped into place more and was alot less tense and sore. By 2 weeks my surgeon cleared me to walk and swim but since I've also started doing some gentle lower body workout, lunges, squats, mat work with ankle weights,by no means my usual intense weighted workouts. I find it's important to really listen to my body in terms of physical activity/workout, so that when i feel them starting to tense up quite a bit I give it them a break. A little explanation about the bikini shoot, although I would have preferred to wait and take piccies at say the 3 month mark, my bf and I are in a long distance relationship-and he would be about the only person I'd wanna take pics like these for-so since he was returning to Europe (he left last night sniff..sob...weep..sigh) we decided to go ahead and take a few. They are by no means professional, taken with a Sony Xperia phone camera so nothing special. I personally enjoy looking at and find it more helpful to see the pics of you ladies in full body shots rather than only a shot of boob, although those type shots are helpful as well. One gets a more well rounded perception of size/shape in comparison to the rest of the body parts/features etc. Anyway, if they can be of help to any of you out there considering cc size I'm happy if it helps. Reveiw of stats: height:154 " Weight: 55 kg (actually haven't weighed myself since pre op...too scared to, I know I've gained over holidays + not in my usual exercise routine...arrgghhh) Implants size (right=400 cc; left 375 cc) Have a lovely rest of the week everyone mwa!!!
Hi,- Consider carefully the options with your Plastic Surgeon with respect to changing implants as revision surgeries carry with them the same risks as the original surgery- Consulting with a certified plastic surgeon is important- Often asymmetry in breasts is a bigger concern to you than it may be to anyone else who views your breasts and depending on the level of asymmetry a decision should be made regarding a revision surgery- Breast volume is not the only determinant of breast asymmetry. Chest shape is also a consideration and therefore a simple change in volume may not be the answer, especially considering you said there was a slight difference between the two breasts pre-operatively and your surgeon placed a smaller implant in the "bigger" breast. All the best. A frank and honest discussion with your Plastic Surgeon is warranted, preferably with someone you trust in attendance with you.
Thank you for your question. These sequelae/complications of botox treatments are well known and described. The fact that both antagonistic muscles (the frontal and orbiculares oculi) have been injected simultaneously does not necessarily negate droop of the eyebrow or eyelid. This complication is most commonly due to migration of toxin to the eyelid levator muscle and this occurs due largely to the way in which the toxin is injected. These complications can happen even to the most experienced injectors. The upside is that at least the toxin will wear off, and by about 6-8 weeks this droopiness will improve. Schedule a consultation with a Plastic Surgeon to see if you are a candidate for treatments to improve eyelid droop.Best of luck
Hi,The answer to your question is that part of the surgery required to correct the lid-cheek dysjunction which is prominently seen on the photographs would be fat grafts. However, a full assessment by a plastic surgeon would determine the toughness of the lower lid, the relationship of the eyeball to the cheek bone and the activity of the muscles surrounding the eyelids. Lastly the amount of protruding fat and septal laxity will also have to be assessed and based on this a thorough surgical plan formulated for improving the lower lid look.Simply doing fat grafting would be akin to applying paint over a crack in the wall without first repairing the wall cavity.Hope this makes sense.Regards and good luck
Hi,Thanks for your question. This is a common presentation where breasts have a ptosis and also require an augmentation simultaneously. In your case, there is a need to correct the ptosis, and this would entail making incisions around the areolar, with or without a vertical scar component. The extent of the lift scarring will depend on a thorough examination, your wishes with respect to implant size and breast size and the surgeons preference. A simple augmentation even with a very large implant is not going to adequately correct the ptosis and you will not be happy with a low nipple on an augmented breast.Good luck.
The photograph you have taken does not allow anyone to fairly evaluate the effects or ill-effects of the botox treatment. Botox as a neurotoxin can weaken lower lid musculature is injected in the area too close to the margin of the lower eyelid, and this may inadvertently lead to variations in muscular activity and hence differences which are then interpreted as hollows. It is best to wait out the period of botox efficacy (4 months) and then reassess the entire facial/periocular area for rejuvenation. One of the detrimental effects of chronic toxin treatments are subtle changes in facial features over time. This is why a conservative approach to the use of neurotoxins and fillers in facial rejuvenation is a more prudent course rather than to prescriptively return for follow ups at 4 monthly intervals for years on end.Regards
