12 year old silicone breast implants (300cc). Per consultation, learned that my implants had no capsulation, very soft still. Therefore, in office was all I needed. Received Lidocaine under each breast were incision was. Dr. Virdin then did pinch test before proceeding. No pain or feeling through opening breast up, implant was pushed out, then sutured up. Took about 10 minutes. It was amazing how quick it was. Very happy about how easy it was Updated on 11 Mar 2022: Day one: no pain, no medication needed, just a little sore around stitches. Feel good, even though my breasts are droopy. I feel like they are me, and that’s better then having perfect boobs. They say they’ll continue to reduce in size, skin will tighten a little. Updated on 26 Mar 2022: It’s been four weeks since I remove my breast implants, I have been wearing a tight sports bra per the physicians recommendations. My skin is adjusting as they said it would. Very happy. I feel better knowing that my breasts are my own. Even if they’re not perfect anymore
I am 71 esthetician I have had lip fillers before and was always disappointed that it was gone in 6 moths When Dr Virden recommended it I was apprehensive by the name but not by the product. I lost about 30 percent right away however, it is just the right amount - I do not have to have super plump lips but if you do this is nice to know its going to last - I am super happy
My experience with Dr. Virden has been wonderful. I have felt like a special patient throughout my consult, surgery and post care. Dr. Virden is very kind and approachable. I felt confident that I had all information and everything explained thoroughly. My results were beyond what I imagined! I know I look better, but more importantly, I feel better! I cannot recommend him and his staff highly enough!
Dr Virden is great, I had 3 mini face lifts and a breast revision surgery over the past 15 years. All of them turned out “amazing “ Dr Virden is extremely skillful and he always uses an accredited hospital & a board cert. anesthesiologist!
There isn’t a negative thing I can say about this entire experience. Dr. Virden has the most wonderful staff, himself obviously included. From Diana at the Front Desk, to Lynnsey his beautiful wife, to Rosa his nurse and then himself, these people are incredible! The process itself is not easy, let me just be clear. It was such a hard surgery to go through and not an easy recovery. Dr. Virden was there anytime you needed him and more than accommodating. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and am just now starting to feel human. I have my follow up tomorrow and am looking forward to the good doctor giving me a progress report. Absolutely 10,000% would recommend the office more than any other in town. (Trust me, I interviewed TONS)
From start to finish I have been so happy with my process. Dr. Virden was attentive, listened and really makes you feel like you’re his only patient. I chose breast augmentation and he included me in every part of the process, making himself available for questions and helping me to understand what to expect. The virtual picture they sent me was amazing to see and really helped me choose what was best and discuss my options with the dr. So far 6 weeks post OP my results are stunning and I am so happy and excited to see how things progress as the healing continues. I plan to go back soon for more body shaping. I truly trust Dr. Virden and his staff to take care of me! Thank you!!
I am a very satisfied, returning client of Dr Virden. Being in a medical field myself, I highly appreciated Dr Virden's meticulous work of art in cosmetic surgery. He was very thorough in keeping me informed of what to expect pre and post-operatively. I had my upper lids done in the office under local where I was awake. The procedure was painless. Dr Virden's bedside manner gave me a sense of security and comfort. He kept me informed of every step of the procedure. Recovery was very easy. Swelling and bruising was minimal. During recovery, Dr Virden checked on me personally multiple times through phone contact. I am very impressed with his work and professionalism. I am very happy with the outcome of my eyelid surgery. I would highly recommend Dr Virden.
I went to Dr Virden for a consult in April of this year...I was on a quest to find the best P.S. in my area to perform a 'Mommy Makeover". I am post-menopausal and no amount of dieting or working out was helping me to reclaim the healthy, attractive body that I had once had. Even though I have never had children, I knew a total body makeover was what I needed. He was understanding and forthright in his opinions...very attentive to what my needs/wants were and answered all my questions and concerns. After meeting him and talking with him, I decided he was the right physician for me. It also helped that two of my friends had already been patients of his and were immensely pleased with their results and had highly recommended him. I am now 7 weeks post-op and couldn't be happier! Not only do I now look in the mirror and see a body that I like to look at, but I know that over the next few months things will only improve! My self-confidence has improved so much...I am at a loss for words at times. Dr Virden and his staff have done the utmost in taking care of me...pain management and other concerns were always met very quickly and thoroughly. I have had no complications, very little pain considering that I was in surgery for 4+ hours and had a full body makeover, and my scars are already fading. My massage therapist has been very pleased and surprised with the quick recovery...she even said, comparing my scars to others that she has seen, that he is an artist! I highly recommend Dr Virden and his entire staff...I couldn't be more pleased!
Hi Ladies..... I wanted to share my experience as I encountered very little in terms of Skin Only Tummy Tuck surgeries while doing my research. I'm 43 years old, no children. After years of being overweight, I have lost approx 50lbs with the aid of a Nutritionist and Crossfit. I'm easily in the best shape of my life, and the happiest I've ever been (seriously), but was left with a lot of loose skin in my abdomen as a result of the weight loss. Let's face it gals.....when you make the commitment to eat clean and get in shape, you want to see the results of your hard work....ALL the results! :) for me, that was getting rid of the excess skin hiding my Abs. I have no expectations of ever being a swimsuit model, but do want to see the Ab muscles I know are "lurking" under all that skin!! I had my initial consultation with Dr Virden in Late May and my surgery was today. The total cost was $5200 (that included Dr fees, Anesthesiologist, and Operating Room costs). The procedure itself took less than 2hrs. As I write this review, I'm resting comfortably in my bed, propped up with several pillows. The pain is (for me) quite tolerable....on a scale of 1-10, I give it a 3. I do have a pretty high pain tolerance, but would describe it as more of an overall soreness vs actual pain at this point. Since I only had skin removal vs a full Tummy Tuck procedure....this is completely normal from my understanding. I have included 3 photos of my stomach skin taken 1 day prior to surgery. Updated on 30 Jun 2016: Doing good so far today. I am able to get around by myself, go to the bathroom, etc.... The pain isn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. I'm sure it is because it was a "skin only" procedure. I had my PO this morning and everything looked good. I bled very little during surgery, so did not need to have drain tubes put in (bonus!!). Tummy is swollen right now, but looks so much better. Dr Virden has told me to either lay flat or stand during the few days....no sitting. He says that when you sit, it's natural for wrinkles to form and at this point what we are trying to encourage is for the tummy skin to stay taught and adhere down nicely into it's "new" place. I've been drinking lots of water and Aloe Vera juice to help speed the healing process along. I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow....just too lazy to remove binder this evening. Updated on 1 Jul 2016: Feeling really good today. I am down to taking my pain meds every 8-9 hrs (vs every 4hrs the day I came home and day after). I was able to shower today, which also made me feel that much better. Something about getting clean, just helps so much. I took my pictures pre-shower, so there is still a little dried blood, which came off in the shower. I changed out my adhesive tape as well. No sign of pus or infection which is good news. Also, very little bruising so far, which is an added bonus. I am forcing myself to stay in bed and relax although I do get up to go to the bathroom and walk around every couple hours. This is the hardest part....I feel like I should be doing something, so it's hard to just lay here. I was able to poop this morning with very little effort, so that also has me feeling good. I was/am taking Swiss Kriss Natural Herbal Laxative tablets just so I didn't become constipated!! I'm drinking a ton of water (approx 1 gallon/day) which may seem like a lot, but I feel is really helping with my healing process....even if it does involve a lot of trips to the bathroom. I am also continuing to take approx 1000mg's of Vitamin C each day (500mgs twice once in the AM and again in the PM), as well as Arnica tablets (taken orally) and Aloe Vera juice mixed in with my water. I've only had my binder off for a short time when I took my pictures and showered. I actually feel better with it on....more security. At my 2nd PO next week, I will probably transition into a Spanx-type garment, but for now the binder is doing the trick. I should mention that I have very little feeling around my belly button. Doc says this is completely normal following surgery, and it will gradually return over the next couple months. For now tho, it's feels a bit creepy when I clean the area and cannot feel what I'm doing. Updated on 3 Jul 2016: It's day 5 following surgery and boredom is setting in. I'm officially off all pain meds since yesterday. As I have no drain tubes to "fight" with, I have been able to sleep on my sides the last couple nights.....which has been heaven. I'm spending my days laying flat on the couch, bored out of my mind. I've never been a big TV watcher, so have no special sitcoms to watch or catch up on. I've decided not to post any pictures, as there isn't any special change in the appearance of my incision or belly button. I'm completely numb from my belly button down to just below my incision in a rectangular area about 1 1/2 wide. I do have feeling to the sides tho. I've begun to notice an itchy feeling that I associate w healing vs infection as the incision isn't red or [RS bleep] or anything. Additionally, I've been using coconut oil on my incision area as it is a natural salve that is anti-bacterial. It really helps with the itchyness. I went without my binder for a couple hours yesterday while I was washing it. Instead I wore compression leggings that comes up to my bra line...(that I have for Lymphedema I sometimes suufer from due to a radical hysterectomy I had in 2013). I put the binder back on after it was dry in addition to the compression leggings as I just feel more "secure" with it on. Other than that, not much to report. I'm still drinking tons of water as well as taking 1000mgs of vitamin C, Arnica and Aloe Vera. Updated on 7 Jul 2016: It's Day 8 Post Op and I'm definitely on the mend. I had my 1 week Post Op yesterday, and was told that everything looks A-OK. No sign of infection and very little swelling or bruising (the result of me laying around like a sloth for the past 6 days I suspect). I went grocery shopping after my post op, and felt fine afterwards. I have been alternating between rubbing Aloe Vera gel (98% concentrated) and Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (a great anti-bacterial natural skin/scar treatment) on my incision.....in addition to Arnica gel around the incision (I don't actually put it on the incision). It must be working, because I was told at my post op to "keep doing whatever I'm doing because everything looks great"! I finally transitioned out of my binder into a Spanx garment.....which is WAY more comfortable. :) I'm still drinking 4+ liters of water per day...and still drinking 2+ cups of Aloe Vera juice, in addition to my continued use of Arnica tablets and Vitamin C. Someone asked me "Why the vitamin C"?? When I was going through my hysterectomy, my Dr told me to take as much Vitamin C as possible because the body has a much harder time healing itself if it deplete in Vitamin C. It is why a lot of Doctors recommend taking 1000mgs/day (or more if you can handle it) prior and after surgery. Plus, it's water soluble....so there is no way you can "overdose" on it. I was given the "All-Clear" to begin walking and using my treadmill....but no Crossfit or lifting for at least another week...(not that I was expecting to do either just yet). But I am looking forward to getting back to working out.....something I never dreamed I'd say in my earlier years. I have attached a couple photos I took tonight. I had just rubbed Coconut Oil on and was letting it absorb before putting my bandages back on (thus the shiny areas on my incision and belly button). I'll try to take a few more with better light and no oil on tomorrow. The light yellow area under the incision is the only bruising I currently have.
34DDD, 46 years old, 5 foot 2, 130 pounds I have wanted to have a reduction since I was in High School. I had a full tummy tuck with muscle wall repair and lipo of flanks 3 years ago. I finally had enough of my clothes not fitting and of looking heavy and being asked if I am pregnant. I wear a juniors size 11 bottom and large XL tops. Dr took 140 G from R flank and about 40 G from Left flank. I am hopeful that this will even me out and I will be more proportionate. Updated on 30 May 2015: I am feeling very tired and pretty sore. I just took a shower... ahhhh and put on a Spanx compression bra. It is bothering me, as it is rubbing under my breast and on the sides. I have been wearing an ace wrap and that feels good. I think I am going to put it back on. My flanks are swollen and sore but do not look much different, other than a big bruise on my right side. . Updated on 30 May 2015: Updated on 1 Jun 2015: Still sore, off pain meds, feeling EXTRA moody and emotional. Crying and lethargic. My son accidentally elbowed me in the left breast yesterday. Almost dropped me to my knees. He's growing and like a big puppy unaware of his size. I think I'll be ok but damn did it hurt! Updated on 25 Jun 2015: I'm a month out now and still pretty sore. I am moody and grumpy and realizing my boobs are different sizes. One is perky and perfect and one is flatter and smaller. I'm sad. It's nice to be smaller but I didn't like the uneven boobs I had before and now I'm in the same boat. Ironically the one that was bigger before is the smaller one now. I don't know what to think or do. I'm just feeling blue. Updated on 2 Jul 2015: I'm feeling good. Scars are healing and the tenderness is decreasing! I wore a bikini today and it was odd not having to re position the boobs all the time! It's much easier to relax not worrying that I'm spilling out of my suit! However, my nips are high and I had to be sure to sunblock them even though I was wearing a top as they are close to the edge if my suit and I didn't want then to get any sun! I think that my boobs are a different cup size as one is ful in my suit and. The other is not close to filling out my suit. My 10 year old says it's not too noticible when I have a bra on but in clothes she can tell. Big sigh! I know it's early but I really hope that it's not too obvious! I don't want to have to wear a bra! I hate bras! I have a genie bra I bought off the internet a few years ago that is one size fits all. It did not fot before, but it's awesome now! Updated on 14 Jul 2015: I am finally feeling that the tenderness is decreasing and that i can move around like normal. My energy is returning to normal, bit I'm still not working out. Walking is all I am up for these days. My right nipple is very sensitive and when I get cold, it sticks out. However, my left nipple is completely numb and does not stick out when I get cold. My right breast is a great shape and full. I would guess a full C cup. However, my left breast is smaller. Maybe a small C or a big B. I am not sure. However, the shape is a bit weird. the nipples are not lined up and the side is dented, like sunken. I can tell a difference. My husband says they look nice and are a better size for my body. I agree about the size overall. Maybe I am being too picky, but I am disappointed. I wanted them to at least be the same size. I don't have any idea how they can be fixed. Or what can be done to even them up. I know its still early, but I know they are different then each other. Any advice or feedback? Am I being to critical or is this a poor result?
I strongly feel silicone is manufactured as a superior product today. I have done 4500 pair, mainly saline..... And both me and my patients feel that the natural feel of the highly cohesive implant is superior. Also look for a surgeon who is using textured Sientra implants. The Data on decreasing capsular contracture rates is very impressive with this type of implant. Good Luck!!!
This does not looklike overuse!!! It looks like either blood in the pocket or a different fluid collection called a Seroma . A simple exam and sometimes an Ultrasound are needed. If this is blood or fluid and it is not removed.... A resultant hard breast could be expected( Capsular Contracture). Good luck and get back in to see your surgeon pronto.
This opening appears to be due to a lack of blood supply or tension.... Not infection. That dark tissue may need debridement. By cutting away the dead tissue you begin the healing process sooner. Keep a positive attitude and learn to do dressing changes twice daily. This will eventually heal with good conservative wound care. The ultimate scar won't be too bad or can be revised at a later date to make it look good . Good Luck. Dr.V
The answer to your question is complex. You should also consider if the implant is of a certain profile( low, moderate, or high). Your chest width matters. A 220cc implant is a conservative implant for you. The most important factor is how much breast tissue remained after breast feeding, in conjunction with any droop to the breast. Good Luck. Dr. V
I have had excellent results filling soft tissue defects with a compound called polysilaxone (Silikon). It is highly purified and causes virtually no tissue reaction. Due to its viscosity it has the strength to hold tissue up. I believe it could be a simple and yet permanent fix for your "dents".cost will be approximately 1600.00. Hope this helps. Good luck,Dr.V
