It’s the day before my scheduled BA surgery with nipple inversion correction and I’ve chosen to go with Allergan Natrelle Soft Touch implants in a Moderate profile. I am going for a more natural appearance, with some extra fluff in my upper pole. I run and work out a lot and don’t want them to be too cumbersome. When i went for my pre-op appointment, I still thought the sizes I picked looked big, but my surgeon said that if I thought they were big with them in my bra, then they’ll likely be the perfect size, as they’ll look smaller once they’re under the muscle. These are my measurements and details: 5’6” 135 lbs Athletic build Small 34C in VS bras BWD 13.5 SSM-360 on left SSM-375 on right IMF incision Under the muscle Updated on 13 Mar 2019: Today was surgery day! I was the first surgery of the morning, so I was in and out, bright and early. Post-op was a little difficult to breathe with all the wraps and the fact that the implants were under the muscle. I was so thirsty in recovery that I thought I could drink 2 cups of water, but they wound up making me quiet nauseous. The nurse administered Zofran in my IV and I felt instantly better. A word to the wise... let your anesthesiologists know if you typically get nauseous post-op. They have things to help you! I was pretty sleepy all day. I purchased these foam wedges from Amazon to help me sleep on my back at a 45° angle (I’m a side sleeper, so I needed all the help I could get). They’re worth every cent! Highly recommend! I was sent home with muscle relaxers, which have helped a tremendously with the muscle spasms in my chest. Having a good “nurse” or helper has been imperative, to help lift off the couch without using my arms (I feel like a little t-Rex). All things considered, I’ve been fairly comfortable all day, due to maintaining my medication schedule to a T. Even if you think you don’t need the meds, TAKE THEM. The Oxycodone for pain, the Valium for the muscle spasms, antibiotic to fight any infection, and the anti-inflammatories to keep swelling down so you can heal properly are all imperative to recovery! I started taking Miralax, just to get ahead of the constipation from the Oxycodone. Both my surgeon and PA were complimentary on the feel and look of these implants and how natural they look in my breasts, which is exactly what i was going for. I didn’t want them too big, as I workout a lot and I’m a runner. I wound up with the following: Allergan Natrelle Soft Touch Moderate Profile Silicone Implants SSM-360 in the left breast SSM-375 in the right breast Bilateral inverted nipple correction IMF incision Subpectoral So far, so good! Post-op appointment is on Thursday, more updates then! Updated on 13 Mar 2019: This was a picture from surgery today, before all the swelling kicked in. So far, I’m happy! Updated on 14 Mar 2019: Post-op day 2 and still feeling pretty comfortable. I have next to no pain, likely due to how I’ve staggered my pain meds. But my sleep patterns are all thrown off due to having to wake up consistently throughout the night to medicate. I had my post-op appointment with Dr. Castiglione today. My boobs looked like Frankenboobs when the bandages were taken off, but I expected that. My left breast is dropping faster than my right, too. I still think they look kind of big on my body, but that’s a good thing because it means they’ll be the perfect size when they’re healed and the swelling is down. I purchased an RxBra that i saw on Instagram and Dr. C really liked it). It’s super comfortable and I highly recommend (pic included)! It’s a little on the expensive side at around $79, but i found it to be worth the money. Dr. C instructed more rest on the couch, telling me i need to take it easy, in spite of how good and painless i feel. And now I’m free to shower! I have another follow up appointment in a week, so more pics to come then! Updated on 15 Mar 2019: It doesn’t even feel like I had surgery, I have such minimal discomfort. I’m taking it easy, not using my arms a whole lot for anything. I have Frankenboobs, which was to be expected. My left breast is dropping faster than my right. The bruises are starting to develop. But all of this is normal. I’m not worried. It’s a waiting game now. Patience is a virtue! Updated on 18 Mar 2019: It’s been almost a week since surgery and I’m till pretty comfortable. Some nerve regeneration pain is starting to kick in in my incisions and nipples. I’m staggering Tylenol and Naproxen with Valium for the muscle spasms. My breast is dropping much faster than my right breast. I have to keep reminding myself that I’m still only 6 days out from surgery and i still have soooo much more time to go before I’m healed and everything has settled into place. I haven’t started massages yet. My 9 day post-op appointment is this week, so I’m going to ask my PS what he thinks about the asymmetrical dropping. Bruising is kicking in and starting to drain south. The swelling is starting to subside, too. I feel so bloated and uncomfortable, even with taking the Miralax once to twice daily. I’ve started taking fiber pills to see if that helps things along, but I’m done with my Oxycodone, too, so that will also help. Looking forward to that right breast dropping and also not having to wake up 2-3 times a night for medications.
I had a rhinoplasty done with him. I am just over a month now and I love the results. He is amazing, his team is amazing as well. Fixed my breathing problem and made my nose look beautiful. Overall very pleased with the whole experience and him.
Monday 10/16/17 I had this procedure done. Made the mistake of reading everyone’s experience! So I was pleasantly surprised that although it was uncomfortable for the first two days. I’m feeling great! I’ve kept my girdle plus binder on and I go to my first follow up appointment on Thursday. Dr Castiglione in Farmington,CT did my procedure and so far I’m loving it! I’m still quite swollen so I can only imagine how happy I’ll be one week post op!!! He is a great doctor makes you feel so comfortable! Best thing I have done for myself!
Dr castiglione just simply awesome! I recently completed TT, liposuction and BBL the recovery is going well and I'm pleased with the results, In the past he repaired and reconstructed my son ear lobe which was from a keloid the size of a golf ball on the back of his ear lobe. My Son was happy again his grades went from average to honors, his confidence was back thanks to Dr Castiglione our family PS.
Since I was 12 years old I have never liked my nose. It was much too wide for my face and had an extremely noticeable cleft running down the center of it. I had contemplating rhinoplasty for years, yet everyone was telling me my nose was fine and not to touch it. Inside it was haunting me and after stalking this site for what seemed like forever, I decided to take the plunge. I was doing this for ME and nobody else. I meet with Dr. Castiglione after researching the best surgeon around and also had heard of several people that had seen him and had fantastic results. He was VERY professional, straight forward, and made me feel comfortable about proceeding with the surgery. The surgery itself was very smooth and Hartford hospital was so on-point and well organized. I expected to be in alot more pain than I was, but overall I would say it was just alot of pressure. Be prepared for the sore throat that comes with the anesthesia, Oasis dry mouth rinse was super helpful! The days following I was religious about taking the arnica Montana and icing. After 3 days of ice I switched to a warm washcloth, which helped my bruising tremendously. Today was day 9 and I had the cast removed and sutures out. After welling up with tears of joy from the reveal, I felt I had to share my experience. I can say hands down this was the best decision I ever made!!! I'm so thankful to have such an amazing surgeon and such a wonderful experience!!
In love with my results! They look really natural. No one noticed until I pointed it out. Healing process was wonderful! I took 8wks off of work to heal. Best decision I've ever made! Office was nice and neat, professional & non judgmental. Process was easy. Surgical scheduler was excellent! 100%!!!!!
I'm 20 years old (19 at the time of my surgery) and I've always been picked on for my nose. After getting surgery to not only repair a deviated septum, but also improve the shape, I have found a confidence I never knew I had. Although I am still paying off the surgery, I am so unbelievably happy I went through with it. Totally worth it. Yes, the recovery process is a pain in the butt, but it went by a lot faster than I thought. Maybe I'm just a quick healer since I am only 20, but I was back to work (being VERY careful) after a week. The first 3 days of recovery were the worst. The pain felt like a very very bad sinus infection and my throat hurt terribly from the breathing tube that had been inserted during surgery. The medication (oxycodone) helped tremendously however. Not being able to lay flat it very uncomfortable and frustrating but it's bearable for a few days. After about 3-4 days (approx) the doctor removed the packing which was very uncomfortable. I'm not sure how else to explain the feeling except for (excuse the gross comparison) a tampon being pulled out of your nose. After the packing was removed and the cast was taken off I felt much better. I did not have feeling in my nose for about 3 months after but it was not too bothersome to me. I did find the stitches to be somewhat annoying since they were visible and had a bit of dried blood in them but they dissolved eventually. As much discomfort as I was in, I still think this nosejob was totally woth it.
I'm a 33 year old who has always been obsessed with big boobs at a young age. My left breast is a good cup size smaller than my right breast. I finally took the plunge and booked my consult in January. I had to wait till June until my appointment and end of July for my surgery. I'm so glad I did it! Updated on 2 Aug 2014: The first 2 days of post op were definitely the toughest. I was taking pain meds every 3-4 hours. Have gone to the bathroom only once since surgery :( I guess I need more dulcolax. The only pain I am experiencing now is back pain from sleeping elevated & sore muscles in the chest area. My boyfriend has been the best nurse ever!! He opens the prescription bottles for me, has been showering me since I can't raise my arms too much, and helping me get dressed. I've been waking up between 6-7 am due to being uncomfortable. I'm normally a very late sleeper! Lol. Need to get to store ASAP to purchase some sports bras. I'm still wearing a normal underwire bra under my banding. Could be why I'm so uncomfortable!! Updated on 4 Aug 2014: I think I fell into boob depression so I tried on a bikini top that I barely filled in before surgery! YEAH BABY!!! Updated on 4 Aug 2014: Updated on 6 Aug 2014: Wow! I can't believe it's already been a week since I got my girls!!! I returned to work yesterday .. Eh .. I've been doing a lot of desk work. I'm so glad I got my sports bras!! So comfy!!! Still having pain/soreness in my boobs. They have actually been numb the past 2 days. It's still difficult getting out of bed, opening or closing ANYTHING, and driving. My boyfriend and 8 year old daughter still have been great with helping around the house. Went for my 2nd post op appointment today. PS said everything looks great. I actually saw a different PS in the office (mine is on vacation). He was like WHOA those are some BIG implants!!!! LOL He said I need to avoid swimming & hot tubs and to put sunblock on my incisions if I wear a bathing suit outdoors. I've read a lot about PS saying to massage your breasts. My PS said its not needed. HMMM. He also said to take some gentle lotion and massage it into my incisions. No special scar cream needed. He also said if I choose to go bigger (I joked around the idea) I would be at risk for complications. My eyes are deceiving me!!! I've worn double cup bras since high school. Now I look down when I'm dressed and I see what I've been presenting the last 20 years but with no bra!! It's very deceiving!!! Updated on 6 Aug 2014: Updated on 12 Aug 2014: Recovery has been going great the past few days!!! I'm more mobile now..taking a shower/washing my hair is getting much easier. The pain is pretty much gone. I haven't taken any pain relievers the past few days & I started sleeping flat on my back last night!! What a relief!! ( I'm a back sleeper). Driving has become much easier too.. No more pain turning the wheel lol. I have even slowwwwly started doing some house chores & cooking dinners again. There is only so much sitting I can do, especially since I signed up to run a marathon end of November in Las Vegas :) hopefully ill be ok!! The girls are still very sore and numb and the left one seems like its a cup larger!! I hope they even out!! Updated on 20 Aug 2014: The past 3 days have been extremely tough. Very sore, numb, and extremely tired. After an 8 hour work day, I just want to take the girls out..place them on the dresser..and take a break!!!! It feels like I need to nurse triplets!! Lol They are still rock hard & sitting high. Although midday I do feel a little bit of jiggle. Maybe they are dropping?!?! Feels like the sports bras aren't providing much support. Maybe I'm experiencing more pain because I'm expecting my period ?! Half of the disposable stitches are gone so there's some improvement lol. My left breast still seems like its dropping quickly .. Or it could be because its the larger implant?!
I read everyone elses story, mine is pretty much the same no complications nothing I couldn't handle. The only thing that was hard for me was recovery not because of the pain but because of the discomfort form the pain meds and sleeping on my back it made me kind of emotional I cried some times but only because of the shock of not being able to do things as I'm use too.
Insurance still being contested but am lucky to be able to afford up front cost. Wanted to do this over 30 years ago (I'm 64 now) but surgery was way too problematic. Had been a runner for year and after menopause, breasts got so big (34h) that it really hurt too much to enjoy running. So glad I gave ir a second look
