Today I met with Dr. Brett Cohen in Hollywood, Florida. I have been doing research for over 2yrs now on different weight loss surgeries and I have decided to get the Gastric Sleeve. I have my first consultation today and I left feeling excited, positive and secure with my decision. I'll update in the next few weeks with my next step which will be to meet with a nutritionist.

Hi Everyone!
I am required to have 3 nutritionist appointments and a meeting with a psychiatrist! I was originally scheduled to have my first nutritionist appointment on 3/15/16 but thankfully someone cancelled earlier and I got to have my appt on 2/17/16! Today 2/9/16 I went to my PCP and got my Medical Necessity Form and all of my labs! So far so good! It looks like I may be getting sleeved in May! I'll keep you all posted!!

Hi Yall!! So far everything is on track! I had my nutrition appt a few weeks ago and everything went well! She said I was an excellent candidate for weightloss surgery. I just had my 2nd nutrition appt and I was so thankful that I didn't gain a pound but loss 2! I am looking forward to my final nutrition appt on 4/14! I was told that I would get a tentative surgery date on that day! I am hoping for mid May! I'll keep you all posted on my journey!!

Hi All! Ok, so I went to my final appoint with Dr. Cohen this morning and also to my Pre-Admission Testing with the hospital! When I got to the hospital I got to meet the Anesthesiologist and go over procedure and medical history questions and given a special antiseptic soap(Chlorhexidine) to shower with before surgery! I was then sent to the hospital lab to have blood drawn for typing! When I got to Dr. Cohen's office he went over the surgery procedures and a questionaire with me of what to expect and not to expect for the surgery! After that I met with our Awesome Coordinator Ashley and she went over my 7 day preop diet, what to expect when arriving to the hospital as well as my discharge procedure so I'd know what to do after surgery and my follow up appt. She also gave me this cute little keychain that's use to show I had the surgery so restaurants would let me order from kids menus or order smaller portions! I am on day 6 of my preop because I chose to start early so I didn't feel overwhelmed! So far so good! I have also started walking and I am feeling good! I'll keep you guys updated after surgery!!
