I’m a mom in my early 30s After much internet research about Fat grafting to the breast for a small size increase instead of going for implants, I decided the benefits of getting fat removed where I didn’t want it, and adding it where I did was the perfect plan for me. Turns out not many doctors in Edmonton even offer this procedure. Dr Ball came recommended as a surgeon in general and I lucked out that he happened to perform fat grafting as well. Initial contact with Jane his nurse/assistant was fantastic and meeting Dr Ball I felt instantly at ease. He is so easy going, but so knowledgeable and professional at the same time. He truly took the time to answer my questions, and asked once if I was sure I did not want a tummy tuck or breast implants, after I said no once, it was never pushed on me, and expectations on results were set without sugar coating but cautious optimism for ~1/2-1cup size increase on my 34/36 small B cups, with the possibility of loose abdomen skin if I wanted him to take a lot of fat from that area I had liposuction performed on inner/outer thighs, abdomen and flanks, with fat grafted to breasts - now 1 week post op and feeling a lot better - optimistic for my final results! Updated on 21 May 2025: 3 months post op - feeling great, just a bit of numbness still in outer thighs, flanks, I think where the most fast was taken. In total he took 2.7L of fat with the lipo, and 210cc of fat per breast for fat transfer. Hard to say exactly what I’ve retained for the fat transfer, but it’s been fairly stable for the last month, definitely more filled out, I would say just under a cup size increase? But definitely a guess. I am down a full pant size, and everything is just fitting better and definitely feeling contoured which I love. He told me he wasn’t too aggressive with lower belly or inner thigh lipo due to decreased skin elasticity there, lower belly is exactly how I wanted, thighs I am curious to see if there’s still residual swelling . I have also lost a lot of muscle from taking a full 2 months off the gym so wondering if that also comes into play. Overall - very happy with my 3 month results
I recently underwent an upper blepharoplasty and ear pinning with Dr. Ball, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! From the initial consultation to the final follow-up, the experience was seamless and reassuring. Dr. Ball is incredibly skilled, patient, and attentive to detail, ensuring I felt comfortable every step of the way. The atmosphere in the surgical room was very laid-back yet super professional and sterile. It made me feel completely at ease, knowing I was in the best hands. I also want to recognize Jane, the RN on the team. She is not only lovely to deal with but also incredibly knowledgeable. She answered all my questions with confidence, provided great advice, and helped me feel at ease throughout the entire process. Her warmth and expertise were invaluable. I highly recommend Dr. Ball and the team for their professionalism and exceptional care. If you’re considering any procedures, don’t hesitate to book a consultation—you’re in great hands here!
Mom of two. Have lost 55lbs and have been exercising and running half marathons and ultra marathons along with weight training 6 days a week for 2 years. Found out I had an intracapsular rupture on both breast implants. Have had pain and tenderness on left side for a couple of years. A mammogram showed nothing irregular. The MRI showed the ruptures. Found out that the FDA recalled my old implants of nearly 20 years in 2019. Since these textured teardrop implants are recalled they offered a free replacement. These are linked to a Rare form of cancer. As a result, I did not know if I would be walking out with new replaced breast implants or just a removed capsule and sewn up. I decided that while I was already under general anesthetic, and despite my two years of busting my arse to tone my body, my stomach flapper of loose skin would never tone up. So I decided to have a tummy tuck along with spot lipo of my flanks, upper abdomen and inner thighs. My surgeon Dr Brandon Ball was utterly amazing!! He was genuine and honest. I was never rushed and he always made me feel important and that no question was ever a stupid question. I’m sure he answers the exact same questions all the time but you would never know because he always took the time to answer any questions or concerns I had. I live 5 hours away from Edmonton and decided to have a mom staycation in a kitchenette hotel room. A friend stayed with me for the first three days which was so great as I needed help to get out to bed, to shower and to get dressed. I was on narcotics, blood thinners, stool softeners and anti nausea pills for the first few days. I was so constipated for 6 days. I went off all pain meds by day 5. I did not even need Tylenol. I just made sure I ate lots of fibre, pineapple smoothies with protein powder, MCT/Collagen and greens. I drank a boat load of water daily also. I took nothing else as far as medication or even vitamins as I feared mixing anything with the blood thinners. Once I stopped the narcotics I felt so much better. I ordered a bed wedge system Pre surgery and they were amazing!!! I was able to sleep on top of the king sized bed in an super comfy recliner position. By week 1 I was super bruised from the lips but was able to walk around well, drive and be self sufficient. I pretty much stayed in my hotel room for 6 full days watching tv/Netflix and reading. The hardest things the first week for me was, going to the bathroom (I used a She-pee for the first couple of days them was able to sit down on the toilet with no issues. ) the other things were getting out of bed, and not being able to sleep for more than a couple of hours. Let me tell you that laughing was hard, along with trying to cough up the post general anesthetic pflegm that gathered into my chest that I had to lean over a couch while hugging a pillow to try to cough. My first sneeze was so painful. I then developed a sinusitis which made me sneeze about 15 x /day for a few days. My Dr gave me a PX for more antibiotics to rid the sinusitis. I am now 2 weeks post op and I feel 95% back to normal. I am just slightly stooped but it could be because my Faja garment is short for my torso and as such I cannot fully stand upright as the garment has no more stretch in it to allow for it. I wear it 24:7 unless I’m showering. I just ordered another one from Amazon. The binder I was given post surgery rode up and bothered me along my breast suture line and I only wore it until I had my post op and drain removal appointment on day 8. I ordered a medium Faja Pre surgery and it fits me perfect. I am 166lbs and 5’9”. I just wish it was a bit longer in the torso as I am restricted as previously mentioned. Having that drain out was so great! By day 8 I had less than 25 cc in a 24 hr period so the Dr removed it and I just replace the gauze every other day. The tummy scar is healing nicely. My stomach is still numb but it has been itchy and I feel it is improving every day gaining more and more sensation. My breast did not hurt one bit. In fact, I cannot even feel any pain at all. I went up in size as I had developed a double bubble. I went from 385 to 485cc smooth, round, high projection. So in love with them. The perfect amount of cleavage now and I love how small my waist looks. I’m in awe of the transformation my body has taken. Dr Ball is a plastic surgery genius! I cannot recommend him higher and his Nurse Jane is so lovely and amazing also. She answered so many questions and really cares about their patients. I paid for the entire procedure using my credit card so I could use the air miles once Covid takes a hike from this world. What a great time to do this procedure also!!! No parties need limited gatherings. So was able to rest quietly and totally take it easy. Updated on 2 Jan 2022: I’m so thrilled with my results. I’m still slightly stopped over and a bit slow moving around especially immediately after getting up. If I stay on my feet for hours on end and perhaps do a bit too much I swell up above my pubic bone. These pics show this. Took a warm shower after a day on my feet, then took these pics. Then layer down for a rest. Can sleep on my side now but keep my knees bent. Taking multivitamins, bromine/turmeric, vitamin C and D. Still having a protein shake every day to ensure I have enough for muscle repair. I have been wearing my Faja. Have ordered another one. This am I woke up with sore upper abs. Felt like I did a crazy ab workout and it’s the second day after. Put my binder overtop of my faja for more support today. Absolutely ZERO regrets!!! I didn’t tell my kids and have managed to fake it to make it around them. I feel they are too loose lipped at their young age and I’d rather not advertise my medical decisions. I cannot believe how fast I am healing and how good I feel and not even 3 weeks post op yet!! Updated on 2 Jan 2022: I cannot believe the difference. I cannot be more thrilled. If your can afford it…..do it! It’s the best gift you could ever do for yourself!! Before and after. The surgeon drew green marker where my surgery line and Lipo was going to happen. The inner thighs was a bonus the day of surgery!! love my new belly! Nearly 7lbs of tissues removed Updated on 2 Jan 2022: 18 year old tear dropped, textured, cohesive gel implants both ruptured. This MRI is taken from my feet pointed up towards my head showing the deformed implants. Left side had given me pain for the last few years intermittently. FDA recalled these implants in 2019 and my Dr retired years ago. Updated on 5 Jan 2022: Gotta say, I’m feeling really great! Haven’t taken any pain meds since day 6. Still doing protein shakes with collagen, pineapple, MCT oil and greens. Likely indulging on leftover Christmas chocolates more than I should be and I cannot wait to get back to exercising. Started walking on the treadmill yesterday. Too cold to walk outside in northern Canada. -45 Celsius with windchill. Trying to do 30 mins a day on the treadmill slow walking just to move. I do find I swell up a bit by the end of the day near my pubic bone so have to put my feet up I find. I’ve been wearing my faja compression garment except to shower. I’m glad I took 3 weeks off work so I have lots of time to relax. I could have gone back to work this past week but I am glad to be off still as I do feel less motivated and less ambitious than normal. I’m also taking a multivitamin along with bromine and turmeric supplements. All my bruising has disappeared and my scabs are healing nicely. Feeling very happy with my results. Updated on 24 Jan 2022: I have noticed that I am certainly moving around totally normal. My abs from the repair still hurt if I sneeze or cough. All my scans are gone and I am still using my scar gel then covering once dry the silicone tape. My breasts have healed nicely also and I cannot believe how soft they are in comparison to the tear drop cohesive gel ones I had previously. I’m super thrilled!! I am going to get a lymphatic massage soon. As for swelling, I have read that many women have experienced swelling - and drastic swelling, I have NOT. I wear my Faja garment that has a built in bra and extends to my mid thighs full time. The one I have had little eyelit clasps then a zipper over top and it runs up my side. It is super comfy and very compressive. I have 3 that I alternate. I am going to buy another one in a smaller size because I believe from wearing it for 5 weeks my waist is getting smaller (like a waist trainer) I only take it off for showers. I still have not had a bath yet as I have not seen my surgeon yet. I have done only a couple Peloton low impact bike rides and walked for exercise. I am hoping that next week when I see my surgeon I get the green light to resume exercise and take a bath. I’ve missed those!!! Will update again after I see my surgeon.
Excellent! Set at ease immediately, immaculate procedure. Doctor, staff and OR staff superb! Explanation of procedure thorough. Follow up adequate. Friendly and warm receptionist. Interested in further procedures in the future.
I had a Breast Augmentation just recently and I can say from the min that I walked in to Dr.Ball office I was treated very well. His nurse Jane is very helpful and so nice along with all the other staff, the anesthesiologist and my post-op nurse were amazing I had no sickness after. And as for Dr. Ball himself he's the best did a wonderful job and I'm very happy with my new boobs!! Would definitely recommend this doctor and his staff to anyone looking for a great doctor!
very informative truthful professional...although her looks young he has experience..he is more innovative then the other drs that are in there 60s and have done 1000s of surgery's but are also set in old school ways...really good results
Dr. Ball & Jane his practice manager made my experience fabulous from my first call giving me some information over the phone on price before my consultation. I had booked many other consultations but after meeting Jane & Dr. Ball I cancelled them all. My surgery went smooth & I was back to work 10 days after which I think is kind of unheard of, the nurses at the surgical suite (Meadowlark) took very good care of me. Friends that have seen my results were impressed, a few have seen many Tummy tucks & this was far the best. Apparently many worry about dog-ears, Dr. Ball puts you in a crunch during surgery to avoid them. I was very happy with my results but required a bit more lipo & minor changes to my sides, no fault of Dr. Ball, as you can’t predict how lipo results will turn out exactly. I had my second minor surgery yesterday, which was warranty work. He was running behind but the nurses (Weiss Clinic) kept me informed which I appreciated, they also took extremely good care of me as well as the Doctor/ anaesthesiologist. I have so much respect for Dr. Ball for being a perfectionist; the fact that he does run behind only goes to show he wants to do things correctly not rushed. I am extremely happy with my decision to have my surgery with Dr Ball; he is personable, funny & young Doctor so he has a good understanding of what needs to be done so you are pleased with the results. I highly recommend Dr. Ball if you are considering getting Cosmetic Surgery, you will not be disappointed.
Couldn't of had a better experience with Dr.Ball and practice manager Jane. They both made me feel very comfortable and reassured about the entire breast reduction process. Any questions I had were answered promptly and meetings never felt rushed. Dr. Ball took the time to make sure I was comfortable and understood all the information I was given. After only 3 weeks post op, I feel great and very happy with the results. I felt great even the same day! I would highly recommend him to anyone considering breast surgery.
I am starting to get nervous!! I am 10 days out from surgery. My current implants were placed 14 years ago. They are 300cc and placed under the muscle. I have breastfed two kids and lost a bit of weight. Because of those reasons my breasts are a little lack lustre to say the least. I have some animation when I flex my pecs (have since the moment I got them done in 2009), major rippling on the top and sides, a sharp corner that pokes out at times, (Dr Ball thinks the implant is folding) and I feel I could use a lift. I am definitely nervous about the lift because I really don’t want the scars. But from the reviews I have read and friends that I have talked to everyone has reassured me that it is the right choice. Dr Ball also reccomended reducing the size of my aereolas- so I am ok with that too. My last surgery cut around my nipples so I am used to the smile scars already. I want to go bigger but not look like a porn star haha. Choosing size was the hardest part. I showed Dr Ball some wish pics and told him my concerns. He reccomended upsizing to 375 or 400cc. I figure why not go for it- so I chose 400. We will confirm that surgery day. His nurse Jane is absolutely amazing!!! She told me to take two weeks off of work and that they would write me a note. I asked her what I should tell my kids as they are old enough to kind of know what’s going on. She laughed and told me to tell them- they wrecked them so now I’m gonna fix them back up. She is so easy to talk to and answered everyone of my questions. My last surgery I didn’t take before pictures so this time I am!! I have really enjoyed reading reviews on here so I thought I’d return the favor. Follow along with me :) Updated on 21 Nov 2023: Today was the day!!! I arrived at the surgical suite at 7:00. The staff were very friendly. After waiting about 45 mins Dr Ball came in and marked me up and asked if I had any last min questions. Then I was off to the OR. I think my surgery lasted just under two hours. I woke up in the recovery room. I felt pretty good. No major pain just tightness and achy. I rated my pain a 6 out of 10. I couldn’t focus on the clock to tell the time, I wasn’t sick just felt very sleepy and tired. The staff called my mom to come and pick me up. Around 11:00my mom came and got me. I felt very woozy on my feet getting from the bed to the wheelchair. They told me I could have coffee. So we went and got Tim hortons. I got a coffee and a bowl of chicken noodle soup- then we headed back to the hotel. I have a little bit of burning on the sides and my nipples but it’s tolerable. Took one tramadol to try and stay on top of pain so it doesn’t get too bad. I had to take a peak at the new girls. So took my bra and the bandages off. They are definitely odd shaped (to be expected)- riding high and a little coney. Slightly panicked about the incisions as I was and still am worried about the scars from the lift. The other thing I noticed was the space between my breasts. The skin is raised away from my chest wall and it looks kind of uni-boob ish. Assuming this is normal- just that the skin is so tight. I also feel like my left breast looks a little higher than the right. So hopefully that levels out when they drop and fluff. I go back to the surgical suite tomorrow morning for a quick check up and dressing change. Then I will be on my way home. Updated on 23 Nov 2023: 2 full days post op. It’s been kind of rough. I dont remember this much pain and uncertainty with my first BA 14 years ago. The first night my left breast was definitely higher and seemed more swollen than my right. I called Dr Ball to see if I should be concerned. He asked me to send him pictures. He texted me back that night and told me things looked ok and that he wasn’t too concerned. The next morning he called me to check in again and said he was thinking about what might have happened. He figures maybe a stitch in the inside came undone on the right side and that’s why it is lower. He said if that is the case there is nothing we would do now that we will just give it time and see how they heal. I went to the surgical suite the day after and the nurse checked me over and changed my bandages before we headed home. I have not been in too much pain and have just been mostly taking Tramadol at night time to help me sleep with Tylenol and Advil in between. I have not had a bowel movement now for two days and my stomach is so bloated and hard. I also started my period today so I’ve got the triple whammy. There is so much pressure and swelling. I am concerned about tenting between my breasts and on the bottom (band area)as my skin is pulled away from my sternum. There isn’t that much bruising so that’s a good thing I guess. My only other concern is on my left breast the vertical lift scar is fairly puckered. Dr Ball informed me that it should flatten over time once the implant drops down. He also told me the tenting is just due to swelling right now and the fact that we went bigger by 25% this time as well as tightened up pockets. It’s hard not to panic. I have searched so many reviews on Real Self and there aren’t too many pictures in these early post op days showing concerns such as I am having. So I want to share my journey. Here’s hoping things settle down soon. I go back to see Dr Ball at the one week mark. Updated on 8 Dec 2023: So I am officially feeling back to myself. I have better range of motions, can shower and wash my hair alone and put shirts on over my head. My right breast has dropped faster or is less swollen than my right. As rightie still looks bigger. Dr Ball assured me at my one week appointment it would be fine and to give it time. The incisions are healing. But they are still stressing me out as they are lower than my breast fold at the moment. I mean I want them to drop so the scar hides better. But I want them to stay higher and perkier haha Hating not being able to workout. So I have just been walking. Need to get my diet back on track- the fluffiness is sneaking up on me.
I am scheduled for a BA and full tummy tuck March 2. I am 5'8 - 155lbs athletic and broad shoulders. I am currently 36AA and want to be a large C small D and natural looking. I was recommend 485cc moderate profile as my BWD is 14cm. 485 seems a bit big when I try the sizers but will try more when i go for sizing. I met with 3 surgeons and ended up choosing dr. Ball as he was the most personable, took his time answering my questions and had great reviews from the ones I found. Because I like to lift weights and worry about deformation when flexing and using my pec muscles he suggested over the muscle. Also because I have a little bit more then the recommended 2cm of breast tissue in the upper pole. From reading about over the muscle placement I am not certain if the increased risk of capsule contraction, sagging and rippling are worth it even though recovery is generally quicker and less painful. My sizing appointment is coming up on January 20th so hope to have my decision made during that appointment. OMG SO EXCITED TO HAVE BOOBIES!! Updated on 1 Feb 2021: I met with my PS and no date has been confirmed but I know I made the right decision to stick with him. He discussed any concerns I had, dog ears, drains etc and eased my mind. No date confirmed but his assistant is wonderful and will call if something opens up. But looking liKe late March Updated on 18 Feb 2021: Feeling so excited. My surgery date has finally been rebooked to April 9th. Only 50 days to go till Boobie and flat tummy day. Updated on 13 Mar 2021: I’m getting closer and Updated on 31 Mar 2021: I've waited some time to have BA, since I realized i would never grow a pair, ad the tummy tuck since my 2 9lbs babies stretch the me ten ways to Sunday. I'm most nervous about the recovery of the tummy tuck and not wanting to be to large up top. To large would be 36E or something like that. I trust my surgeon listened to me and will get me the large C small D results I'm wanting. I've chosen 485SSF over the muscle. I am currently a 36AA. I would like promise to post updates as this site has helped a lot for the early results but not so many for a year or two after. Updated on 2 Apr 2021: I am a week out before my mommy makeover and I’m so excited and scared at the same time. I’ve begun to prepare, I’ve purchased a raised toilet seat. You can get them cheaper on Amazon then renting from a health store, well at least where am from in northern Alberta. I have a friend lending me an electric recliner and have purchased a second hand walker. I think I’m all set? But who really knows I’m not sure what will happen until it actually happens. I do have a lymphatic drainage massage booked for April 20th For afterwards and I’ve been advised by my Massage therapist at this will help with swelling. I have also been going for the past three weeks for massages on my chest muscles and have quit exercising them completely hoping that this helps with the drop and fluff occurring sooner than later. I have yet to buy the food supplies and everything I will need for afterwards but I’ll do that next week before travelling to the city where of the surgery will be performed.I had also started taking a supplement that helps with inflammation, has collagen and other ingredients that help with optimal health a few months back. I quit as recommended by the surgeon and have stop taking everything 10 days prior to surgery but will pick those right back up afterwards. Sure hope that all my care due diligence will help with a speedy recovery from the TT as that is what scares me the most. Updated on 10 Apr 2021: The procedure went well, the doc went with 450 ssf under muscle. I was originally going with 485 but I didn’t want to be to big so doc said to come down. Haven’t been able to keep water down so that’s been rough. Switched off the narcotics and am going with Tylenol and Advil now. There was a 5cm gap repair in the rectus muscle and he removed 1.5kg from my tummy. Hoping to eat something today and can wait to get a good look a the new bod. Updated on 11 Apr 2021: So blown away but what I see and so happy I choose dr.ball, trust your gut. The scar is exactly how I wanted it. He has answered all my texts in a timely manner. Pain is minimal and I’m standing straiter then yesterday. I’m off the anti nausea since stopping the narcotics. Updated on 13 Apr 2021: I’m now 4 days postop and feeling pretty good. I washed my hair myself today which was very nice, drying is another story. My right breast is settling quicker than the left and pain is minimal. My incision site for the Tummy Tuck is doing good and the fluid levels are going down daily. Updated on 21 Apr 2021: Today I am 13 days postop. I’m feeling pretty good I stopped taking all pain medication. The most swelling I have is over the pubic bone area but other than that, it’s pretty minimal. Still a fair amount of bruising over the backside and my lower back there is some swelling as well. I went to the hospital yesterday where they removed my drain and the doctor and nurses all said that the incision looked really good and whoever did it did a really good job.I started driving and have been able to drive to the store and to some appointments which has been nice. I’ve been able to wash my own hair since day4 and put my arms above my head to put on clothing as well I think the healing is going nicely. Updated on 4 May 2021: I’m now 3.5 weeks post op and feeling pretty great. I did some shopping on the weekend which was awesome. I am down 2 pant sizes and I can finally wear a tucked in shirt without my belly hanging over. I have tried on some bras and am measuring a large or 36D right now so we’ll see where they will settle. I had some mondor cords but they seem to be getting better. My incision is healing nicely, itchy as hell sometimes but I guess that’s a good thing. Had My first lymphatic drainage massage today made me very sleepy but felt pretty good. I’ll see the results when I hit the shower tonight. Updated on 12 May 2021: Today I had my follow up appointment with the surgeon since surgery. (I live five hours away so i wasn’t able to travel to see him before and when he would normally see patients after surgery) It went really well I’m just shy of five weeks postop and he’s giving me the clear to start exercising lightly and advise me to just be mindful of my body and if I have any discomfort then I’m pushing too much and to take a little easier. I was beyond ecstatic about his opinion about my scar for the tummy tuck, he said that I am healing better than average. he says my scars looks Like I’m 4months post op. I guess the supplement I’m taking has really helped. Said I could continue using the silicone tape up until six weeks but didn’t feel that I really needed it but if I wanted to I definitely could and said a cream wasn’t necessary Updated on 14 May 2021: Pics of my scars 5 weeks post op. Doc said they look like they’re 4 months old. Updated on 19 May 2021: My tummy tuck scar just shy of 6 weeks. Can’t say enough how happy I am with its healing. Updated on 9 Jun 2021: Just a day over 2 months and feeling pretty good. Wearing my binder still for the better part of the day and to sleep. Muscles get tired and sore. Incisions are healing nicely. Boobs softening but would Like it to move along, all in god time. Back to working out, started off slow and back to full workouts, weight training. I don’t train my chest so that’s not a big deal but do feel the implants in there and doesn’t bother me. Big deal for me was getting back to golf, low to golf and my boobs were never an issue and I was worried they would alter my swing. Adjust pretty well and so happy with the results. Updated on 29 Aug 2021: It’s been 20 weeks since my MM and I am so happy with the results. I got 450 SSF under the muscle and I measured a 36DD at Lasenza the other day. TT scar is eating nicely. I am back to working out but core movements feel funny. So does swimming feels like your doing a deep stretch though the core. So for that haven’t really done to much. I haven’t worked my chest yet either, going to wait till about 9 months post op for that. Updated on 30 Oct 2021: I am almost 7 months PO and I feel great. Everything is healing well. I still struggle with ab exercises and have a hard time holding a plank sometimes I get sharp pains in my abs where they were repaired. My breast are still quite firm but are settling and getting softer, would like that to happen faster! The scar from the TT is completely flat and shows darker in pictures for some reason. All in all so happy with my results.
