While diet and exercise are key to a healthy and toned midsection, factors like genetics, age, pregnancy, and extreme weight loss can cause excess skin and loose muscles, preventing you from achieving tight abs on your own. In those cases, I recommend a tummy tuck (or abdominoplasty). This common procedure at my Chicago practice involves removing excess skin and fat while tightening loose abdominal muscles via a discreetly placed incision that’s concealed at the bikini line. The procedure can be combined with liposuction, to create an even more defined silhouette. The result is a tauter abdomen and more defined waistline, for an overall more contoured and trim appearance.
