I am 33 years old 5 foot to 127 pounds I have had four kids all breast-fed. After breast-feeding my boobs became even smaller than they already were. Pre-pregnancy I was a B cup after breast-feeding for kids I became an a cup and my right side was significantly smaller. I have wanted press done for years and Blaine Anderson completed this surgery for a few other family members over the last 20 years. After finding out he was retiring I scheduled my consult immediately and my surgery day.Blaine Anderson and his office were absolutely amazing he went over every single fact pro and con of every detail an option that was out there he did not try to persuade me in doing something I didn't want to do he simply explained facts.I decided to go with a high profile smooth silicone 380 mL in the right and 355 in the left over the muscle. Today was my surgery day and I know I have a long ways to go but so far I am extremely happy with how comfortable Dr. Blaine Anderson made me feel as well as his office staff and the Bear RiverValley hospital in Tremonton UT. Day of surgery I am sore but not bad. Honestly my headache from the anesthesia hurts worse than my breasts.
Over the years I have had Dr. Andersen do a number of procedures ranging from mole removal to breast augmentation and tummy tuck. My results each time have been better than expected. He is a gifted plastic surgeon who attracts clientele from the surrounding regions for a reason.
After losing 160 lbs. I was on the search for a plastic surgeon who I trusted to help me with all the excess skin I had. I heard amazing reviews from my coworkers about Dr. Blaine Andersen so I decided to schedule a consultation with him. I was blown away by how knowledgeable Dr. Andersen was. He took his time to describe in detail what the procedure would entail, and educated me on what my expectations should be. He was very precise and professional and made me feel very comfortable with trusting him. I was so impressed from my consultation that I had no desire to meet with any other surgeons. My tummy tuck that Dr. Blaine Andersen performed went better than I could have ever dreamed of! The recovery was only a few days for me, and I only took pain pills for two days after the procedure. He was able to remove almost 20 lbs. of skin from my abdomen. This man changed my life! I loved his work so much that I went back to him a few months later to do an arm lift, and he also removed some excess skin on my back and neck, taking another 10 lbs of skin. He is the only plastic surgeon I would ever trust. Not only does he know what he is doing, but he truly cares about what he does. I would have paid triple the amount I did for his quality of work! Words cannot ever express how grateful I am that this man gave me the ability to finally feel confident in my own skin. I, for once in my life actually love my own body! Thank you Dr. Blaine Andersen!
Dr.Andersen is by far the most amazing plastic surgeon. I have had breast augmentation twice and each time turned out absolutley perfect. I have also had Botox injections numerous times and each time I have been 100 percent happy with the results. I would never have anyone else work on any part of my body. Dr. Andersen and his staff are all extremely down to earth and all of them make you you feel so comfortable. I definitely give him 5 stars plus!!
I'm currently a C hoping to be a DD or beyond;)I am 5'5 150 lbs, I had breast fed my three children and lost the upper fullness in my breasts along with quite a bit of over all volume. I only recently had been seriously looking into BA, I called several PS and visited dozens of websites when I found Dr. Anderson's site. From the very first phone call, I knew I wanted Dr. Anderson preform my BA. His staff is so amazing, helpful, and they really put me at ease. The Dr actually spent over two hours with my husband and I, he explained everything to us in great detail. I viewed hundreds of photos in his office( I had already checked his website out and read his blog prior) and that very day(8/15/13) I scheduled for 8/26/13;) I have absolutely gone completely obsessed with boobs! Thank goodness for this site! I know that I'm not alone and this is perfectly normal! Lol I read and view so many BA stories and photos my mind is constantly thinking about my outcome.... I hope it's a great as all of yours! This site is awesome, so thankful I found it! Updated on 24 Aug 2013: I'm am so excited, I can't sleep. I think I've read everyone's story on this site, I never would have known what to expect out of this entire experience had it not been for this site and all if you incredible women who shared your experiences, it's truly helpful! So thank you so much! I really hope my results are great, I want to be as busty as possible. I measured 13 cm and my PS said I could go no larger then 495cc HP, I'm really hoping that will be big enough... I'm already a C so hopefully that'll make me a DD or more. I sure hope I can be happy with that lol because as of lately I've felt the "boobie greed" everyone in this site has referred to, it is a real thing! Anyway thanks again to all the women and doctors on this site! Updated on 26 Aug 2013: I'm about 15 hours post op... The first several hours were really rough;( I had 495 cc HP under the muscle inserted through the breast fold. I have to say they look a bit pointy and really swollen, but totally happy he was able to squeeze that size in;)I was already a C cup before, but now they look like really full DD'S. I also have to agree with all the women who nursed their babies, it really does feel like I'm engorged. I have been taking my pain meds every 3-4 hours, and I just started my antibiotics. I found a really cool app for my iPhone that helps me keep track if my meds, it has alarms that go off every time I need to take one. I've slept ok for the most part. I have a strap around my upper chest instead of a surgical bra.. The strap really kills my under arms. I'm a little worried about waking up with "morning boob" I pee all the time guess that's good, but I hurts getting out of bed to go. I've been eating and drinking water just fine. My husband is such an amazing man he went out and bought me my favorite box of see's candy Updated on 27 Aug 2013: It's day two. I'm very swollen and tired, I upped my pain meds to 1 1/2 every 4 hours. That really doesn't help much. I was really hoping to be one of those women who feel totally fine afterwards but, I don't. I know it's only day two and I have a long way to go. My husband and kids have been great;) my husband works so hard then, comes home and takes care of me & the kids. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful man Updated on 28 Aug 2013: It's day three post op and, I still hurt like crazy;( my left breast feels better then my right but, that's my dominant side, peeing is still difficult only because its such a struggle to wipe. I did sleep though out the night, only waking up for pain pills. My first post op appointment is tomorrow. I really hope he'll tell me everything looks great and, that I can finally take a shower! In really happy with my boobs now. They still look torpedoish lol, but I know they'll look awesome when the drop & fluff. I haven't bought any bras yet. As soon as PS tells me I will buy a front zip sports bra. I really love the under armor they look great on. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to find a front zip sports bra:/ I just can't wait to feel better. I'm really excited to see them in cute bras and tops! Happy healing to all! Updated on 1 Sep 2013: It's been a week since my BA surgery. I still have some pain, but it's tolerable. They look great;) I have no idea what my cup size is, but I put my old bra over them and it made that bra look so tiny! So that makes me very happy. I still have to buy new bras and shirts. I wanted to wait to go shopping until I knew what to expect. I'm so happy I did this for myself, I love them! Updated on 9 Sep 2013: I'm about two weeks post op now, I'm starting to feel like myself again. I'm healing well, my incisions itch like crazy and the pain has eased up a lot since week one. The left has dropped and looks great, but my right one is still a little high. They feel softer every day. I bought a couple front closure bras, they're kind of on the loose side just so the don't squeeze or push up my breasts. I am very pleased with my results, I absolutely love them! I plan on adding photos soon. Happy healing to all! Updated on 12 Sep 2013:
I have been reading realself reviews for awhile, but haven't had a chance to put my story on here till now! So here it goes. I'm a 34 year old mommy of 6. My oldest is 10, twins that are 8, a 6 year old, a 3 year old, and a 16 month old. I'm 5'4 and weighed 125 pre op. I've always been fairly small, but my body got trashed with my twinners that I carried to full term, then it was all down hill from there! Ha! Yikes most weight I've gained was 50 lbs with my twin pregnancy. I have severe scoliosis and have had 2 surgeries on my back. I have an s curve, and my body is pretty jacked. Ive always had one breast that was almost a full cup size lager. Also one side of my waist is thicker than the other side do to the twisting of my spine. Needless to say I've always been insecure about this. Because of my deformity in my body when I carried my kiddos it was all up front. It tore me up! My hubby and I have been saving for this sine I had the twins and every time we Wd get close he Wd loose his job or something else Wd happen that we Wd have to spend the $ on. My hubby is super supportive, but both our families are not so we didn't tell anyone. We live in a very predominately lds community that tends to be super judgey about plastic surgey. so we did not decided not to tell any friends or church members either. We asked my 25-year-old nephew to stay with the kiddos for the weekend so that we could have the surgery done, but just told him that we were going away for our anniversary. so we left my four older ones here with him and took the two babies down to Utah with us. I had another nephew that lived in Utah with his wife that offer to watch the babies for a couple nights so that we can get away for anniversary. The surgery was scheduled for the Second of November. We left the morning after Halloween to be down to my preop appointment at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. After meeting with him I felt super comfortable and excited and totally peace with my decision to have him do the surgery. The surgery was scheduled for the next day at 1 o'clock we had to be at the hospital at 12 o'clock to check in. I was super nervous because I thought we would have to leave the hospital by that evening since it was a outpatient procedure. We waited until 215 because the surgery before mine ran over. I was stressed out but they told me not to worry because if I got back into the recovery room after 6 o'clock I would be able to stay in the hospital overnight with no extra charge. I felt super ease with anesthesiologist. I explained that with my other surgeries I had I had gotten really nauseous when I woke up in recovery and had vomited for a long period time and it had been really painful. The anesthesiologist said that they would make sure and give me medication in my Iv and a patch behind my ear so that wouldn't happen this time. So they gave me the happy pill I was good to go and I don't remember anything until after I woke up in recovery. I woke up in a lot of pain and but I didn't feel sick which was awesome! I did feel like I had a ton of bricks on my chest. I needed to cough super bad and felt like I cdnt breath. The nurse that was there i kept hearing her cough and I remember Saying I wish that I could cough like you! Lol it hurt so dang bad but I felt like. I have so much crap in my throat and lungs that I couldn't breathe! It was the worst! They got me up pretty quick because I had to use the bathroom and that was really painful! By the time I walked into the bathroom felt a huge wave of nausea come on me and I felt like I was going to pass out everything was spinning it was super scary! Was really hard to go Pee i remember I kept trying and trying and couldn't go but I felt like my bladder was going to explode! they poured warm water on my hands and I finally was able to go. That night was really rough and I remember I would fall asleep a little bit and then wake up and have to go to the bathroom I was drinking a lot of water and IV fluid was just going through me like crazy and it was so painful but I feel like every time I got up it got easier. We checked out of the hospital the next day at 10. It was Saturday and the doc said that if we wanted to we could go do my postop that Saturday instead of waiting come Monday so that we could just drive home instead having to stay in the hotel which I was ecstatic about! I was really worried about Attempting sleep in the hotel bed instead of trying to sleep in a recliner at home. The doctor set our appointment for noon at his office back in Logan. The surgery was at the hospital in Tremonten. We drove back to our hotel packed our stuff up and went to my appointment and he changed all my bandages and checked everything out and gave me more pain medication and stuff to take home to change bandages.we left there and then headed over to my nephews to pick up my two babies. It was pretty funny because my nephew just thought I was really sick with the stomach flu and stayed in the car Tyler got the babies and got them in their car seat we took off for home. It was the longest drive home ever and I was in I was miserable! It was a 5 Hour Drive so we had to stop a couple times for bathroom breaks and for me to get up and walk around. it was so so painful! we had both little babies so My hubby cdnt help me much so either he had to stay in the car with the babies while i used th bathroom or we have to bring them in with us and it was really rough! Now I'm home and recovering well. I'm hoping to get my drains out wed. I have been draining under 15 cc in both drains since Saturday. It's been rough trying to do everything by ourselves but I am glad that I didn't tell everybody. My in-laws showed up at our house Sunday after we got back and my kids blurted out that I had surgery on my tummy and they were kind jerky about it and didnt even ask how I was. They left and we still haven't heard from them. Why do people have to be so judgmental? I weighed myself the other day which is probably a bad idea and I'm at 131 now kind of freaked out hopefully it's just swelling and I haven't gained fat! I'm worried that I have because I'm so immobile and I'm used to being so active! I can't wait to see what my bellybutton looks like it still has got Steri-Strip tapes over it so it's hard to see what it will look like.Updated on 18 Nov 2012:Lol ok for sure we did not pay 86,000$! Ha! That's awesome! Not sure if that was the sleep deprevassion, I phone user error,or the meds talking! Lol Any who... Today is 16 days post op and I'm feeling pretty good. I would post pics but I'm a computer idiot and can't figure out how to do it from my I phone! Is it possible? I still have my drains in and am draining 22ccs in 24 hrs ugh will it ever end? I have a friend s hubby that is a doc he offered to remove the drains for me here so I don't have to trapes all the way to Logan with 6 kids in toe! Yay! We will call the ps on tues to see if we're ok to remove them yet. Dr is very cautious and doesn't want me to aspirate .i get it but they still suck rocks. My birthday was yesterday I turned 35. My hubby was sweet and took the monkeys shopping fri and got me sassy new boots and purse! What a honey! I. Wanted to go out for my bday so I squeezed into a double spanks undies tucked the drains under my boobs and with my new boots I was feeling quite the cats meo! Untill abt 2 hrs of shopping yowch!! We came home early I took a pain pill and downed a bag of nibs. Yay happy birthday!!;-) I still have all my steri strips on even on my belly button. I'm going to call the ps tomorrow to find out what to do. It seems like everyone else's are off by now. I've picked up my baby a couple of times and find I'm super sore later. It's so hard though without help. I'm feeling bad about hubby he is wrkin full time and in school full time. I keep tryin to help him out and then I'm super sore! I'm still sleepin in my recliner and hubby is on the couch so I'm not alone downstairs . He rocks! I have been watching oodles of fineas and ferb to occupy my 3 yr old. I ended up dreaming we had a platypus loose in our house that was trying to attack me! It was blue just like peri on the show! Lol I almost pulled out my drains I jumped so hard! I started doing hair again on thurs (13 days po) I've only been doing about 2 colors a day but between that and helping with kiddos I'm wiped and sore by 6. Pain is beauty right?lol Well we did the deed for the 1st time 11 days po. Let me tell ya it's been creative! Ha! U can only imagin with steri strips and drains! Lol! Ok tmi but I am super in the mood and so is hubby! What's a girl to do? Still haven't seen the unlaws . I ended up telling my sisters they asked me flat out and cdnt lie :-( they haven't come by. My one sis offered to come help and i said absolutely but then she never showed up. Nice . Still soooo glad I did it! Happy healing!
I am a week and 3 days out from having a tummy tuck. I waited for years to have this done. After having 2 kids and struggling with weight loss I finally hit my goal. I had a rough 2 days since I suffered from lidocaine toxicity which I was not aware of. After this I was good to go and recovery has been not bad at all. Yes it is uncomfortable but bearable. I still have the drains in which is the only complaint I do have at this time. I am completely off pain meds and now making my own food to eat LOL. My stomach muscles are still pretty tender and I still have some bruising from the lipo. But no complaints and I should have not waited this long to enjoy this flat stomach. Anyone considering I to would say go for it. I did try and do everything I could by going to the gym 4X a week. For us moms there is no other solution. BTW I saved this money from doing Passion Parties so thank you ladies for your support. Updated on 9 Apr 2009: Whooo Hooo just hit 2 weeks! Other then having the drains still in everything is going great. I went today and walked Wal-Mart! Boy did I miss that place LOL. I have one side that has no swelling but I am still swelling on the other side. This was the side he had to do a little more lipo so I am assuming that is why the swelling is more. Drains should come out next week. My dr says to leave them in a little longer to be better safe then sorry. As soon as drains are removed I will update another pic! Updated on 14 Apr 2009: 4/12/09 Had another follow up and I am now 2.5 weeks out from surgery. No luck getting drains out yet. Some swelling on the left side so the DR said it is better to leave drains in to help with swelling. He did pull out tons of liquid build up on that side with a needle hoping this will help the draining process. I am doing and looking great. My belly button looks awesome and my scare looks great. Keeping my fingures crossed that on thursday these drains come out. Updated on 1 May 2009: 5 weeks PO and feeling great. I am shopping now and loving it. I still have some swelling ont he left side so my body looks a little uneven but there is hope. If the swelling isn't gone in 2 weeks the dotor is going to try steroid injections to help with the swelling. My belly botton looks now like a outie but i am ok with that. The Dr said there wasnt much skin and he wanted it to bee as tight as he could get it so that prevented him from making the belly button have the deepness. Hey I am happy with flat tummy and abs close to skin. LOL. Here is a updated pic and I am loving the results. Updated on 25 Jul 2010: One year after surgery and I am 110% satisfied. I still have some swelling when I eat salt but I am the only one who notices. My scars are great looking and I still have some numb areas where I had lipo but no complaints. It was totally worth it an d I will do it again. I am enjoying my 2 piece swimsuit that I would have never ever thought I would be able to wear again. The results are PERFECT.
I inform patient of the advantages and disadvantages associated with decisions that need to be made to have surgery and let the patient make many of the decisions. Decisions include placing implants under or over the muscle, saline vs gel filled breast implants, round vs tear drop shape, smooth vs textured and soft v more form stable breast implants. I prefer more input as to what size and profile is necessary to achieve the goals stated by the patient. First the diameter of the implant is the base width of the breast is measured (the breast width I measure is one cm more above the muscle because the implants can be placed closer together. The implant volume is calculated by knowing what volume is necessary to increase the breast by one bra size and timing that number by the number of desired bra cup increase. For exampled it you wear 36 band bras, then 225 cc's is necessary to increase the breast one bra cup size. If you want the right breast 2 bra cup sizes larger then a 450 cc implant needs to be placed. I you want to increase the left breast 2 1/2 cups, then a 560 cc implant needs to be placed. You have a relatively short distance between the nipple and the inframammary fold. Therefore your nipples cannot be expected to be as high as the equator of the breast implant. Trying to squeeze in too large of an implant is a significant risk factor for stretching the sensory nerves going to the breasts from the sides of the chest wall and altering sensation in the nipple. My experience with multiparous 5 ft 11 inch tall women, I usually can place an implant in the 535 cc range.
I have no disagreement with most of the answers you have received. It is desirable to place an implant which is wider than your current breast mound so that there will be less gap between the implants. Without modification of the shape and width of your breast mound, you will have a nonharmonious breast where a small breast mound is sitting over the center of a wider breast implant. If a pocket is created in the subglandular plane, radial incisions can be made under the entire breast. The radial incisions release and widen the narrow diameter of your breast. In addition to having a wider breast mound, radial incisions will also result in having a smoother transition from then center of the breast where there is some breast tissue overlying the implant to the periphery where there is no breast tissue overlying the implant. The pocket should not be extended much in the inferior direction. Lowering the infra mammary fold will result in a double bubble deformity. Therefore the position of the nipple/areola complex will be below the center of the expanded pocket. One feature of anatomic implants is the most projecting point of the implant is at a level in the lower part of the implant. Therefore the anatomic implant will better match the shape of a breast where the distance from the nipple to the inframammary fold is relatively short. Make sure your surgeon chooses a textured anatomic implant which has a very low risk of ALCL (a rare complication caused by the textured shell of the implant). A concentric mastopexy is desirable to flatten the herniated breast tissue and narrow the diameter of the areola. A side effect of this mastopexy is having a scar which encircles the areola.
Many plastic surgeons are trained to place implants in only the subpectoral plane. It is an inherited practice from the 70's and 80's when the capsule contracture rates were known to be twice as high in the subglandular plane. In my experience, since antibiotic irrigations, no touch technique, funnel insertion, nipple barriers; capsule contracture rates are much improved and I no longer am able to detect that capsule contracture rates are higher in the subglandular plane. One significant advantage of placing implants in the subglandular plane is the avoidance of animation deformities. Be sure to google that issue. There is a recommendation for subpectoral plane implants when patients are anorexic thin. I have been placed many implants in the subglandular plane in patients with low body fat. Being able to see visible wrinkles is generally not a problem when using smooth, silicone gel filled implants and in the last five years newer form stable implants which are filled fuller and have less wrinkles. I have placed these implants in the subglandular plane in competitive body builders to avoid the animation deformity. Eventually I had a patient tell me that judges do not penalize for the animation deformities because it is common for body builders to have implants in the subpectoral plane. There are several other differences in subglandular and subpectoral augmentation. Find a surgeon who has experience in both, you will more likely to be informed of all the differences. You are capable of understanding all the issues and you make the decision.
One of the measurements I document before surgery is the distance between the nipple and the inframammary fold (IMF). Your postop IMF is higher on the left and the nipples are very even. As with the previous reviews this may correct itself in the next several months. There is a good chance your current asymmetry may be due to a preoperative asymmetry which would not be corrected with implant surgery. Massaging the right implant upwards and the left implants downwards will minimize the asymmetry. After 9 months or so if the difference is unacceptable an inferior capsulotomy of the left will lower the position of the left implant. A left inferior capsulotomy is much easier and more reliable than trying to elevate the position of the right implant.
Routinely, I spend a minimum of 60 minutes with a new patient considering breast augmentation surgery. I meet with the patient and her invited guest or partner in my office and discuss the details of the surgery, the risks associated with the surgery and the expected results. I go over before and after photos with the patient and allow her to feel the different implants (silicone vs. saline). After answering questions and satisfying the patient with necessary and important information, I take them to the exam room for measurements to determine the sizing of the implants. The only duty I leave up to my staff is the taking of pre-operative/post-operative photos and pre-operative instructions. The patient is spending time and money to meet the surgeon she is considering; I feel it is the least I can do to give them the quality time they deserve!
