I’ve had two surgeries with him, three procedures in all. I had breast implants , rhinoplasty and a chin implant . I love love love him and all his staff. I am super happy with all my results. He focuses on natural results and I couldn’t be happier.
Dr. Shuster went above and beyond my expectations, easing all my nerves and turning my lifelong dream into reality. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Shuster and his team time and time again. When I first went in for my consultation, I was overwhelmed—after all, surgery is a big decision, and altering my body felt daunting. But Dr. Shuster and his team provided unwavering reassurance, patiently guiding me through every moment of doubt and uncertainty. Their expertise and support gave me complete confidence, and the results were beyond anything I could have imagined. My recovery was smooth—I experienced no pain, minimal bruising, and was able to return to my normal routine quickly. Now, I love seeing myself in the mirror, dressing up for date nights, and, most importantly, feeling confident and beautiful in a swimsuit. There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude for making this process seamless and restoring the confidence I didn’t even realize I was missing. If you're considering breast augmentation but feeling nervous, my advice is simple: book the consultation. You won’t regret it—trust me.
From the moment I met the doctor, I knew I was in the right hands. He came highly recommended by a friend who had a very complex case, and his work exceeded all expectations. The consultation confirmed he was the one I could trust completely. The entire experience, from the seamless operation to the exceptional post-op care, was handled with the utmost professionalism. I can’t recommend him enough. Olga
Before my surgery, I found the reviews on RealSelf extremely helpful. However, I noticed there were not many examples of small volume augmentations. This inspired me to share my experience to help others who might be seeking a "mini" boob job. Here are the details: Implant size: 190cc Incision: transaxillary (through the armpit) Placement: submuscular Profile: moderate classic My stats: 5'2, 100 lbs. I'm 24 years old, have never had kids, and was an A cup before surgery. Being very petite, I wanted to maintain my small frame with modest, natural-looking implants. I was terrified of ending up with breasts that looked too big for my body. My main goal was to fill out clothing better and to still be able to go braless comfortably. I also wanted to avoid visible scars, which is why I opted for the transaxillary incision. I decided to go with Dr. Schuster because he specializes in the transaxillary incision, and I felt he truly understood my vision. He was the only doctor I consulted with who did not push me to go bigger and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. He took time to answer all of my questions and look at inspo pics. I was stuck between 175cc and 190cc, and I trusted him enough to make the final decision in the operating room. Everyone at his practice, especially Christy and his nurse Tami, was incredibly kind and helpful, answering all of my questions and addressing my concerns. Updated on 16 Jul 2024: The surgery went smoothly. I had no pain, just a little soreness similar to doing 100 push-ups. I didn't need to take Valium or narcotics, only extra strength Tylenol for three days. The worst part of recovery was experiencing bloating for about a week, but stool softener worked great for that. It is also tough not being able to work out my upper body for three months. I'm almost 5 weeks post-op and so far, I'm very happy with the results. They seem to be the exact size I wanted. My breasts were naturally a bit far apart, but Dr. Shuster did a great job at bringing them closer together, something other doctors told me wasn't possible. My left implant is slower to drop, and the left incision is also healing slower. I'm still waiting for them to "drop and fluff" but overall, I'm thrilled with how they look. Photos are from 3 weeks post-op.
I've gotten both a rhinoplasty & more recently a breast augmentation done with him and there are no words to describe how happy i am with my results. He listened to exactly what i wanted and they came out even better than i imagined. My breasts look so natural which is exactly what i wanted. I was a 36A and am now a 36C/D and could have gone even bigger, but my biggest concern was going too big. I got moderate profile 400cc. 10/10 experience!!!
I've lost 140 lbs. over the past two years thanks to gastric sleeve surgery, so I'm literally half the size I was. I am so happy that I've finally reached — and surpassed — my goal weight (and have kept it off), but the remaining sagging skin around my stomach, hips, butt, and thighs made it difficult to really enjoy my new body. I've been a competitive powerlifter and avid Pilates student for over a decade, but most of my muscle was hidden under the loose skin. I started looking at cosmetic surgery options about one year into my weight loss. I initially looked at surgeons in my area but was disappointed in all of the "after" photos that looked like hack jobs at best. So, I started looking for the best surgeons nationwide and came across Dr. Bernard Shuster in Hollywood, Florida. Dr. Shuster specializes in working with bariatric patients, and I was instantly blown away by the results on his website. Soon after I had my virtual consultation with Dr. Shuster and his patient coordinator, Christy. Both were extremely personable, kind, and made me feel at ease — not something I've experienced with other surgeons. I'm not from Florida, but I am familiar with the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood/Miami area, which made it even easier to book my surgery with Dr. Shuster. I had two procedures on October 30, 2023: a brachioplasty (upper arm lift) and lower body lift. I'm focusing on the lower body lift for this review. I had my first in-person appointment with Dr. Shuster and Tami, his awesome nurse, on October 27. They went over everything to expect, along with setting expectations for what he'd do on the day of surgery. Tami and the rest of the team were extremely clear and detailed with everything I needed to do beforehand from the day I signed up for surgery, which continued in person. My surgery went off without a hitch. I arrived at the hospital early that morning and Dr. Shuster met with me to go over things again and mark my body for surgery. My next memory was waking up afterward. I was in some pain, but it was more of a dull, odd feeling rather than extreme pain (which is probably thanks to all the powerful pain medications I received during and after the procedure. I was up and walking just a few hours later. I stayed in the hospital for two days as a precaution, and the nurses who took care of me were extremely kind and tended to me quickly. Dr. Shuster came both days to see me. While this should be the norm, I've heard many stories from people who didn't see their doctors after the procedure. I had 8 kilos of skin and tissue removed. I stayed in Florida for three weeks after my surgery and had four follow-up visits with Dr. Shuster and his team, which was way more than I expected (but really appreciated). One appointment was a few days after surgery, the second was to remove my drains, and the third and fourth were to check me over before I returned home. I never once felt rushed, or like they didn't care about my well-being, which is so appreciated. I'm returning to Dr. Shuster for an inner thigh lift and breast lift/augmentation in spring 2024, and I cannot wait to see how that turns out. If you're considering Dr. Shuster, do yourself a favor and book your surgery. He might not be the cheapest option out there, but you only get one body — and his work is 1000% worth the expense.
Told myself years ago that I would only go through with the surgery if I find someone who checks all my boxes… and guess what? Dr. Shuster did just that. For placement he goes through transaxillary/armpit and under the muscle. It’s hard to find a surgeon who excels in this method without looking like beach balls are stuck on your chest but his boobies look great & phenomenally natural. Also for my small booby queens, going through the underarm means no scarring on the breast. The scar will be hidden in the natural creases of the underarm and hard to find. Another bonus is the breast tissue won’t be cut through, so when you stand up during recovery, the implants don’t feel like they’ll slide out of your body like I read in other reviews doing the underboob incision LOL. His energy is warm and full of love; he really cares about giving you the look you want. The only hiccup was that we had agreed on 250 CC during the pre-op, and I received 190. Really hoping it’s not too small but then again, he knows the exact look I’m going for and is the expert in what he does and therefore has my full trust. He showed me a picture immediately afterwards and my goodness were they lovely. Noticed great reviews for him on RealSelf but no pictures so here I am! I’ll be updating throughout the recovery process and including lots of visuals along the way :) Updated on 23 Sep 2023: The entire team made me feel so safe and supported at the hospital. I won’t lie, I’m terrified of needles and the IV was a nightmare. The nurses were so kind and empathetic, they calmed me down very well, and boom it was over before I knew it. After being prepped, Dr. Shuster gave me some nice booby art (haha) with a sharpie before going into surgery Updated on 23 Sep 2023: Woke up with zero pain and no grogginess. Started to think they forgot to give me boobs? Because I felt nothing. At all! What a wonderful anesthesiologist, humorous and very knowledgeable. Surgery took about 45 minutes!!! That’s it. The rest of the time was spent in the recovery room. Dr. Shuster came to check on me and we had a little chit chat about our best friends (we love pets) and about how amazing the surgery went. When it was time to leave the recovery room, I wanted to walk out to my parents but I was put in a wheelchair despite feeling amazing. No matter how good or bad you feel, they will make sure you remain as rested as possible for an easy recovery. The only difference I noticed was a limited mobility of arms. With the incision being in the armpit, it’s important to avoid causing tension to the area. Spent the rest of the day chatting, drinking a ton of water and watching movies :) Updated on 23 Sep 2023: Dr. Shuster is amazing!! I had mentioned watching videos of other people getting implants and how cool it would be to see me getting them put in. I got many pictures and videos, but I’ll attach the final overview only just in case anyone is squeamish. Updated on 23 Sep 2023: I’ve been feeling minimal pain and have only taken a couple of pain pills because of how easy the recovery has been. It’s mainly the incisions that burn a little here & there. I have a very low pain tolerance and was so scared about recovery but this experience has been above & beyond in every way. To me, they already look perfect. Here are some day 1 & 2 visuals Updated on 23 Sep 2023: Oopsie… the pictures & video didn’t upload on the last update. Let me try again - Pay no mind to this, just trying to reach the word count required to post this update: It says I need 200 characters. It says I need 200 characters. Okay, that should do it. Updated on 27 Sep 2023: I honestly didn’t think to update because it’s been the same easy going recovery & movie binge. Every time I go to the bathroom, I unhook those little front clasps on the compression bra to look at my new friends. They’re just so mesmerizing to me (; Looking through the day 1 vs 5 pictures, I was surprised to see a slight difference. They seem much softer as the days go by. The compression bra is very comfortable. I still added some gauze around the side edges just in case it rides close to the incision. The incisions are scary looking, very raised and swollen, but they don’t sting anymore! We’ll see how the healing progresses in the coming weeks…. Updated on 4 Oct 2023: Wow… 2 weeks already! I’ve started daily massages and they feel very soft at the bottom. The top is a little more firm, but should continue to soften over time
I had a really great experience with Dr. Shuster and his team. They are all very warm, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I had a lot of doubts prior surgery and it was all resolved after my first consultation with Dr. Shuster. I booked my surgery right away. You just go to his office and it feels like it’s the right place and the right people. He knows what’s going to look good on your body so you can really trust him if you are not sure about the size you want. Dr. Shuster has a dedicated room in the hospital and it didn't even feel like a regular surgery experience. (I’ve never met so many nice people in the hospital at once) I also had very little pain after surgery and I never used the prescription painkillers (just Tylenol). I am normally super sensitive to pain so I think that’s what made a difference: 1. I slept VERY elevated (almost sitting up) for at least 2 weeks ( tempur-pedic ergo base are great for that) 2. I eliminated ALL salt from my diet for 2 weeks. My food tasted awful but it made a big difference. Little swelling means little pain. 3.I didn’t do any chest/upper body workouts several months prior surgery and my pecs were not tight. Many of these recommendations are mentioned prior surgery, but if you take them seriously it helps a lot during healing. I hope my tips help you guys, just like many of your reviews helped me, when I did my extended research.
My experience with Dr Shuster , his staff, nurses, hospital staff and recovery nurse were all excellent! I had amazing results and a recovery with no hematomas or bruising. ( I did have yellow under eyes and a pea sized bruise from lower bleph) I felt so safe having the procedure in the hospital, and having a recovery nurse for the first 24 hours was a necessity. If I did it over I’d have kept Nurse Natalia for two to three days. You are loopy the first few days and you have a regimen of icing and meds that need to be followed. I don't look pulled or different, its as if the clock was rewound and I look like me 10,15 years ago. ( People are guessing me at 45 now and I’m still recovering!) I felt invisible after I turned 50 and now I’m getting hit on at 59, which really feels strange. One guy is bugging me so much I kind of miss the serenity of invisibility lol. Joking aside id rather look refreshed and deal with the attention. Get a consultation with Dr.Shuster! I’m not posting pics but I have no problem with them being shown in the office if you are curious. LH
Dr Shuster is a extremely talented plastic Surgent/artist he is polite and very knowledgeable I felt really really safe when I chose Dr Shuster. Today is 3 weeks after surgery my face transformed to a 10 year younger face he did a fantastic job I would never go to another doctor ever again if I needed another plastic surgery the incisions are so perfect that I’m sure that they will mostly disappear after the healing process ends and I’m healing fast my face looks awesome! ….just a note for you girls out there that are trying to decide about doing a facelift…. I flew to Las Vegas on my seventh day after surgery of course against Dr Shuster‘s advice but I already felt great to do so…. I had minimal bruises minimal pain and just a fantastic results. I’m 61 and feel like …. Oh well I just feel great!! Lol
Hi,I'm often asked that questions as well as how long after a facelift a woman needs to wait until she colors her hair again.3 days before a facelift is fine to color your hair. Afterwards, I suggest waiting until the incisions are healed. This is usually 3 to 4 weeks. We have some terrific hair stylists that have worked with my patients and they are very accustomed to seeing facelift patients. An experienced stylist is terrific because they know were it is safe to work and which areas to avoid.Best of luck
Hi Petra, Terrific question. The key to longevity in facelift surgery, is to have a procedure that is particularly tailored to your individual anatomical needs. Some patients will need more of a vertical lift than other. But you could imagine that if a person has more laxity in a different direction, such as diagonal, then not only will a vertical lift not last long but won't look very good even from the start. So there's no one technique that is best for everybody. Rather, make sure that you pursue a procedure that works with your particular needs. Good luck
Hi leigh742,Thanks for the question and submitting your photos.Firstly, you look good. The images do convey the issues you're concerned with. For lower facial laxity, a subtle mini-lift is really the best option and provides the longest lasting result. When done well it is very inconspicuous and has a very high success rate in correcting jowls, mid face, and early neck laxity. Non-surgical alternatives available today tend to be rather short lived.Based on your pictures, it does not look like you would be a candidate for liposuction of the jawline and are underneath your chin.
Hi,Good questions.I think there are a lot of options for you to consider prior to the surgeries you mention.Just based on your photo's, you do look like a candidate for a chin implant. Aside from that, it looks like you would benefit from the addition of volume. In my practice we do this with the use of a patient's own fat or with in office injections. Both work well. the use of fat is a more involved procedure but has the potential to be much longer lasting as its someone's own tissue. Hyaluronic injections, such as Voluma or Juvederm, are an in-office procedure with no real downtime, but need to be repeated on a yearly basis. You can chose which works better in your life style.Hope this is helpful,Best of luck
Hi,Terrific job with the weight loss. The weight loss is, of course, the most important thing. The skin issues can be taken care of afterwards.Your picture show quite a bit of laxity. If you're at your goal, or as you reach your goal, a thigh lift may help with your symptoms. In which case, I would recommend an extended inner thigh lift. It sounds like your skin is quite irritated. Consider seeing a dermatologist in the mean time.Best of luck
