Dr. Beckert is a one of a kind! He is compassionate, and so down to earth. You can tell that he genuinely enjoys what he does. From start (consultation) to finish (postoperative care), my experience with him has been phenomenal. He definitely sets the bar high. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon-he exceeded all of my expectations!

Updated on 20 Jan 2018: Hi everyone, I just want to update that I went for a revision yesterday to go from 480cc silicon ultra high menitors to 800cc silicon ultra high menitors. I got back today to get unwrapped and I will post update pictures for y’all. He also tacked underneath both breast because he thought my other implants were to low and he cut my old scars off because they were really bad and the reason I looked into revision in the first place. Fingers Crossed! This time I used a different dr. Then before his name is dr Larson and practices in Beaumont TX.
I am on day 3 of recovery. I had lipo on my abdomen, flanks, inner and back thighs. My dr said she removed 4lbs of fat. After having my last baby at 37 and a hysterectomy at 38 I felt like my body was working against me. No matter how little I ate or how much I exercised nothing changed. I felt like I needed to cover my midsection all the time especially sitting bc the fat would bulge up above and below my belt. My dr requires that I wear a compression garmet 24/7 the week after surgery, so I haven't seen my body yet. But I can tell that the shape has changed. My surgery was scheduled for 730am. I have no memory of recovery, but my husband says we were home by 1130-12. I stayed in bed most of that day and slept off the anesthesia. When I did need to get up I needed assistance and felt dizzy. Also on the first night I vomited and had trouble urinating. My vagina area was so swollen it was unrecognizable. I'm pretty sure my husband was traumatized. Lol. The compression garmet is crotchless. Day 2 I felt better. My thighs are the most sensitive. The tummy area feels pretty numb to the touch. I was able to stand and walk alone today. I still took my pain medication on schedule. And I'm taking an antibiotic. Day 3. I think the pain medication that is used under the skin has worn off because I had a lot of burning sensations in my tummy today. I went to a local salon and had my hair washed. I've been using wiped on my body. My mobility is increasing and in getting really anxious to see what's below the garmet. On a side note I have had THE WORST hay fever ever upon returning home from surgery. I have sneezed non-stop and gobe through 2 boxes of Kleenex. Sneezing is no fun after lipo... I will get my before pics from my dr and add them ASAP Updated on 23 Dec 2014: My 1 week visit would have fallen on Christmas Day, so I was supposed to go tomorrow for my first post surgery visit. The dr office just called and asked me to come in today because I was the only patient scheduled for tomorrow. I'm so excited to see everything. I will hopefully be posting some photos this afternoon. Updated on 23 Dec 2014: Sorry these are a picture of a picture Updated on 24 Dec 2014: Lipo on abdomen, sides and thighs Updated on 6 Jan 2015: Last week was really tough. My legs were very sore and I returned to work on Monday. I was really regretting my procedure. This week I do finally see improvement. I also have very little discomfort. All of the areas still feel strangely numb. Like you just left the dentist. And itchy. And I can't wait to throw this compression garmet in the trash!!! My ps requires you wear it for 23 hrs a day for 6 weeks. :( I haven't seen any change in the scale. I know that he only removed 4 lbs, but I still weigh the same as I did before the procedure. I know I'm complaining a lot and sound really negative, but recovery is tough. I'm trying to keep positive and believw I will be satisfied with the end results. Updated on 4 Feb 2015: Sorry if this pic is weird. I'm not sure how else to capture it. This is the lump I was talking about @skinnyannie
I had this lump on my back that was growing in size and became concerned that it might be something serious like cancer. Got the cyst/tumor removed at 8:00 am and was sitting at the IHOP eating breakfast with my mother by 9:30 am. Got the results of the biopsy the next day (benign). Great Dr., great staff.
I have always been small busted but after my child my A cup bra was an inch away from my chest. After the surgery I feel much more feminine and my clothes fit so much better. The silicone implants feel natural and look better than I could have imagined. I was worried that I would regret my decision or that I wouldn't look like I thought I would but I wouldn't be happier.
5'2", fairly overweight 140ish newbie here. I have a slightly different experience as I had a partial mastectomy which ended up being benign after quite a scare. So, as a result. My procedure is covered by insurance. My breasts were asymmetrical with a minimum of 125 ccs variance, per the ps. One was a C and the other was a small B. We decided on a 375 cc silicone on my smaller side and a 275 cc silicone on the other side. Both under the muscle. The PS would also not proceed without a lift, so that was out of pocket. A girlfriend with similar body type had a mommy makeover and the results are amazing, so I decided to go with him. I read a ton of reviews because I am a professional and did not have time to take off of work. Reviews (and speaking with the office staff) assured me that I would be able to return to work on the 3rd PO day. That was incorrect. Perhaps I have an amazing low pain tolerance. Perhaps I was to prescribed enough to take the edge off. However, I was unable to move or get quasi-comfortable without help for the first 2 days for sure. The 3rd day PO, I could use the restroom solo. Do not kid yourself that you will bounce back because that has been your history. Mine, as well. I've had my ACL done, foot surgery, etc and they were minor set backs. The lift and implants were not minor. 4th day PO is great. Minor meds required. But I am also working on 4 hours (total, not consecutive sleep). The muscle relaxers were invaluable for me and I have requested more because the burning in my chest and back make it difficult to breathe. A heating pad on my back relieved tension the first two days. I used ice/bags of frozen veggies the first day PO. The first three days, I regretted the entire decision. Today, even though I do not see my results until tomorrow, I am back on board. Simply because how I feel. I am able to take half pain med and muscle relaxers, which take the edge off and allow me to function and not return to an open mouth drooling position. Not my best by any stretch. I am posting this as a more realistic view for those that want/need to return to work early. 4 days seems to be a reasonably conservative time off. Obviously some may need more or less but just be prepared to add an extra day. I did and am incredibly grateful. I get my "soft cast" (aptly named by my youngest) off tomorrow and will post those results. Can't wait to get out of it. It is chaffing my underarms, similarly like crutches rub a person raw. I had to wedge lambswool to make it bearable. Looking forward to reading scar minimizing techniques, etc. Updated on 11 Jan 2014: I developed a severe allergy to the antibiotics, which has slowed my recovery. Two different steroid shots and now a steroid med pack for the next week. However, love my breasts. They are tight and high and I am wearing my band around the clock. I have also started massaging them fairly inconsistently due to irritation to the incisions. I will be able to get the incisions wet in a week and at that time the sutures should have dissolved. I do not have nipple sensation but am naively hoping that it will return. I haven't tried on cute bras or tops yet, but I am very much looking forward to shopping in 4 -5 weeks. The photos are from 5 days PO.
My experience thus far has not been great. I feel like I have gotten the run around on my situation and the doctor is avoiding correcting the issue. I am at a loss. I am now 4 months post op and went to see my PS 3 weeks ago. He told me my implants have dropped into their pockets and they look pretty close/fine to him. I told him I don't understand why they look so different. The one on the right is totally fine to me but the one on the left is so high and tight. I massage it EVERY night, without fail, for at least 30 min. He told me I should leave it alone or I would end up with a ripple at the bottom of the left one because I do not have enough fat to cover the implant at the bottom. I don't care if there is a ripple at this point. I want them in the same general location. He said I should not have unrealistic expectations. If I really wanted to "move the implant down a little" he said I could squeeze the top fairly hard and push down at the same time and it would stretch the pocket. I've been doing this for 3 weeks and no change at all! As a matter of fact, the implant feels harder. At least before the implants I could go without a shirt and they'd be in the same place. The one on the left is hard and there is pain underneath the muscle on the left side of the left implant. I am ok with rippling, I'm ok with the fact that I have stretch marks. I just want them to be together so I can go without a bra and not have it so very obvious that they are not together. I also do not have the funds available for a corrective surgery... Updated on 6 Dec 2009: I just wanted another opinion before I go back to him complaining again that I'm really dissatisfied with the end result. Updated on 16 Apr 2011: My PS has been extremely cooperative with me in efforts to correct my issues with the left implant. In reference to my original post, I feel I was frustrated with the situation at hand but he is a very good surgeon and I just had anatomical issues we had to work around. The first issue was capsular contracture and when he removed the scar tissue, there was nothing to stitch the implant cavity down so it drifted and a 3rd surgery was done after the scar tissue developed. The muscle tore beneath the stitches after that, probably due to me picking up my nephew and a 4th surgery was done. I have been very careful with weight and so far things look great, 5 weeks post op. Updated on 5 Jul 2014: I've had 3 corrections since my original surgery. I give up. I'm going to a reconstructive surgeon in Houston. I have symmastia and slight double bubble. I'm confident the Houston surgeon can correct what my Beaumont surgeon could not.
I would not recommend this Doctor to anyone. The office manager "Pam" is horribly rude, and hangs up in people face and block calls from coming in. My question is, do the doctor really know that she is doing this the patients?? The office reflects on the doctor himself, if he allows her to do this, then he should not be in the practice. His office was paid in full by my insurance and she insisted on it not being paid when I have the receipt from my insurance company.
I had first planned to get implants but decided to go with the fat transfer instead bc I only needed a slight increase in the fullness to my left breast. I have had a reduction before because I was a 36DDD and Dr. Beckert took me down to a C after my reduc but my left is a small B after lumpectomy . I have waited almost a year since my lumpectomy to have this done. I have read a lot of reviews on here but haven't found a lot of instances where women are having this procedure done under similar circumstances. I am five days away from my surgery date and feeling very nervous and anxious. I am 5'2" and I am not a skinny person. I keep thinking I might back out but I have hated my breasts my entire life until I got my reduction and then they were perfect and I loved them. Then I had the lumpectomy and the left one got messed up again and now I want it fixed. Hopefully I will not back out. Sorry for the rambling! Updated on 21 Jul 2017: Today was my one week post op visit. Everything looks great!!! My left breast looks like a real breast again! I could not be happier!!! Dr. Beckert said that the size may decrease some but it should be pretty stable. The liposuction was just an added benefit that I will greatly appreciate once all the swelling and bruising goes away.
Being only 5 days out from your procedure, you certainly will have some swelling. How much is highly variable; however I typically recommend patients wait 6 weeks before going bra shopping as it may take that long for the swelling to dissipate.Regarding your cup size, realize that a bra from one store that is a D cup may only be a C cup at another store. Judge your outcome by how you look and how you feel--not by the tag in the back of your bra.Hope this helps.
Liposuction is a very safe and effective procedure to target areas of fatty deposition when an individual is at his/her target weight. If someone is above his/her target weight I would recommend getting as close to that target weight as possible prior to proceeding. Clearly we can not expect everyone to be 5'5" 115 pounds and as long as you have a realistic expectation with the outcome, liposuction may be for you.Specific to your requests, each of the areas you mention are common areas to perform the procedure. There are various types of liposuction but they all address essentially the same area--the subcutaneous fat with varying degrees of skin tightening, though the best predictor of skin retraction will be your degree of elasticity. Being 22, there is a good probability that your skin still has good elastic recoil. Regarding your abdomen, there are two areas of fat--subcutaneous fat and intra-abdominal fat. Liposuction can only address the subcutaneous fat--weight loss is the only way to reduce intra-abdominal fat.The procedure can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours depending on the number of areas treated and the amount of fat removed. The most important post operative component is appropriate compression of the area/areas that have been treated. Most patients take anywhere from a few days to a week off of work again depending on the number of areas treated/extent of treatment. Typically I recommend waiting 6 weeks to assess results for swelling to dissipate.Take the time to find a board certified plastic surgeon, have an examination, review before and after photos and see if the procedure is right for you. Good luck!
