I am not one to post on the internet, but I made a profile because of my experience with Dr. Cox. Dr. Cox is a world-class surgeon, and I would recommend him to anyone. I had the option to undergo rhinoplasty in Manhattan or in Birmingham. After meeting him, the decision was easy. There are many great surgeons in New York City, but no one compares to Dr. Cox. I went to him with several functional issues with my nose, as well as cosmetic concerns. He clearly articulated his plan to correct my internal nasal problems, in addition to his vision for the cosmetic refinements. We worked together to achieve a beautiful, natural appearance that also corrected my breathing/sinus problems. Dr. Cox is extremely knowledgeable, warm, and empathic. He always took the time to listen to my concerns (particularly when I felt anxious immediately before the surgery) and ensured that I was well taken care of. His nurse practitioner even called to check on me the day after surgery. If you are considering rhinoplasty, please do not make a decision until you have seen Dr. Cox! This process honestly was easier than my wisdom teeth surgery. I had minimal bruising, as I drank 2 glasses of fresh pineapple juice per day, applied arnica beneath my eyes, and iced religiously according to Dr. Cox’s instructions. Splint removal was not as bad as people claim, however, I do advise that you eat something small beforehand. (I did not, and I felt lightheaded.)
I had my rhinoplasty consultation today! I have been to a few other doctors and no one compares in bed side manners or knowledge. Dr. Cox really took his time with me and made me feel so confident about this surgery. He definitely knows what he is talking about! I can’t wait for surgery now. He was able to joke around with me and lighten the mood, as I was so very nervous. He made me feel like family and his vision was exactly what I had in mind. Not only was he amazing at describing what I needed but also explained how the reshaping will affect my breathing. He wants me to have a beautiful AND functioning nose! Thank you!!
He made sure I was taken care of, and went out of his way to the extreme! He is so sweet & is SUCH AN AMAZING doctor! Dr. Cox made my Nose look gorgeous! His work is phenomenal! He definitely knows what he is doing!
Dr. Cox is awesome. I told him what I wanted as far as a filler, volume, etc to reduce the look of lines and wrinkles and he was completely honest with me and told me what he thought would work best with the budget I had. He is very knowledgeable and makes you feel at ease.
First rate doctor, technically and knowledge-wise, with a rare bonus of also being a true artist in cosmetic work. Quite frankly the best I've ever been to and absolutely one of the best whose work I've seen. He did an upper eye-lift on me in 2006. At the time I asked him how long the results might last. He said it varies and it could last 10 years. It's been 11 and still looks great. In 2011 & 2014 he gave me a neck lift. Yes, twice. My neck was a difficult situation - never good structurally and worse over the years. He did a nice job of arresting the droopy skin, improving the profile and drastically slowing the look of aging. I flat out refuse to go to anyone else for injectables. He's got a light touch with the needle and that is really a comfort. Now I live 143 miles away and I have to drive to Birmingham and back to see him. My city, Atlanta, is not lacking in good, or even great, cosmetic surgeons, but Dr. Cox is a true artist so I gladly trek to him in B'ham. People tell me I look younger than my age (mid-50s) and I am not shy to say "I've had some work done." They always are shocked and try to guess what I did...and they never get it right. I believe this is testament to how natural his work looks. His interest is in making me look better - not overdone, not fake, not unrecognizable. I am very grateful to Dr. Cox. I will never go to anyone else.
I had broken my nose three different time and had two previous surgeries to try to correct my breathing. Both surgeries were not 100% successful and I could never get good answers from either of the surgeons. I could not breathe out of the right side of my nose. I was not sleeping well and was always tired. After many appointments, they could never figure out why I still could not breathe. I was referred to Dr. Cox and was told that he is the expert and best person to tackle something like this. I drove the 4hrs to see him and from the first 5mins I could tell that he knew exactly what he was doing. He made me feel comfortable and explained everything in a way I could easily understand. He diagnosed me and let me know what he could do to fix me and let me go home to make my decision. He was a straight shooter and I liked that about him. I had a lot of damage to the structure of the nose as well. He offered to fix the cosmetic issues while he was fixing the functional issues. He let me know what he was going to "try to do" while he was in there and I agreed. I am 2 weeks out from that surgery now and OMG I can breathe again!! Not only can I breathe better than I have in years he did an absolute incredible job on the cosmetic part of my nose. I have been getting complements every day from friends and family that knew what I looked like before. I am so happy that I could scream. If you are considering Rhinoplasty or Septoplasty for functional or cosmetic reasons I do not care where you live, make the commitment to see Dr. Cox. I did on a recommendation and now I will look and feel amazing for the rest of my life. Thank you Dr. Cox!
Marissa and Liz were great at the front desk. They really helped me understand the products and pricing. Jackie is amazing at knowing what my skin needs and offering the right solution! Love the professionalism of the doctors and staff!
Could not be more pleased! Dr. Cox performed a rhinoplasty and used donor cartilage. He is so thorough, prompt, courteous and pleasant! I can finally breathe better than I have in years! I would recommend him for your care with no hesitation!
Dr. Cox did a fabulous job on my rhinoplasty! Not only does it look better but I am breathing better than I ever have before. He is very professional and has a great bed side manner. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs facial surgery.
Dr. Cox at the AZIA Clinic was the absolute best for this kind of treatment. He possesses the qualities and knowledge a patient looks for in a doctor. I decided to have this treatment due to some heredity problems and I was very pleased at the results. I would highly recommend this Dr. to anyone.
As I am sure you already know, revision rhinoplasty is one of the hardest surgeries performed. That being said, from your one limited view, there does appear to be some room to get closer to your goals. A nose can only be improved "so much". We each have natural anatomy that must be recognized and the nose sits often on an imperfect platform that may limit what can be accomplished. Skin thickness, cartilage size and flexibility, and the obvious external anatomical features of the nose all play a role in how small a nose can be achieved with reduction rhinoplasty. Please remember though, that as the nose is made "smaller", potentially, the airway is also made smaller--so there are limits. In your case, the true answer would depend on exactly what has already been done, your remaining anatomical structures and understanding your true goals that would make you happy. Simply because you have already had surgery, however, does not preclude you from accomplishing your goals with a revision.
Usually by three weeks, it is OK to resume your normal sleeping condition. However each rhinoplasty is unique. There may be certain maneuvers your surgeon did for which he or she wishes you to be extremely careful of any potential trauma. Sleeping on your side, you may be at a little more risk of burying your nose in your pillow which could alter the fragile postoperative nose. this is likely a question best answered by your surgeon.
True allergies to the Botox molecule are exceedingly rare. But they do exist. Usually the allergy is to the carrier molecule or something in the diluting agent. There are two other widely available neurotoxins that may be an alternative to you: Dysport or Xeomin. However, recognize that the diluting agent may be the same for these. You might also consider whether something on your skin ( perhaps a topical anesthetic ) was pushed underneath by the act of injecting which may be the real cause of the problem. Cleansing your skin well prior to injection, taking an antihistamine, and perhaps choosing an alternative neurotoxin could be an option
there are many good topical anesthetics that can take 15 to 30 minutes to work effectively which may give you relief. However injections of a short acting anesthetic into the sites where the nerve travels ( called a nerve block ) would offer significant pain relief, although not likely complete. You then, however, would have to sustain the several injections for the nerve block.
It would be helpful to know if you routinely get bags like this during the allergy and pollen season, or if your skin is very sensitive preps of something used to clean the scan prior to the injection. Also, it would be helpful to know how long it took for your lower eyelids to return to normal. Did your injection go medially into the lower eyelid? Also, it would be helpful to know how long it took for your lower eyelids to return to normal. This is not a common result of the injection as it is extremely rare to have an allergic reaction to the Botox. It is possible you have very sensitive skin such that simply the introduction of a needle can cause a significant histaminic reaction. As we age, our lower eyelids can be more and more dependent on the support of the muscle present. If the Botox is injected into the muscle of the lower eyelid, then once it takes effect, which usually takes 3 to 6 days, The patient can develop some loosening of the lower eyelid skin. So, unfortunately, there are potentially multiple variables causing your problem and I don't have enough information to answer specifically. You might consider taking an antihistamine earlier in the day before you have your next injection and see if that helps.
