...read moreI had a hair transplant about 3 months ago at Smile and I’m already seeing a very good result. I was a little hesitant to get a hair transplant at first but I’m glad I did it eventually. Dr Ali and the technicians were very skillful, experienced, and caring. The post operative follow up is excellent, they diligently follow your hair’s progress and answer questions or concerns. The successful growth of your hair is not just your business, at Smile they make it their business too. It was comforting to see them be concerned for the outcome. Even though this is a popular clinic, I had a dedicated room and team of lovely technicians. In addition to its popularity one of the deciding factors for me for choosing this clinic was the involvement of surgeons in the transplant procedure. My hair type is curly so that was one of the reasons I was a little more concerned about my choices. I also don’t have any scar at all. 2,900 grafts were taken from my donor area, but my back side is so uniform and feels very much like what I had originally even at a very short cut. The needles for the local anesthesia were very painful. That was the only time I doubted my decision of getting the transplant. I wasn’t prepared for it, never expected it. What made me a bit relaxed was a video I saw right before the surgery where one of the doctors was saying the anesthesia administration was the most painful part of the transplant. I’m glad I heard that. There was a big difference with the estimate of the level of my hair loss online with the actual physical assessment, though this is understandable I feel like there shouldn’t be that much of a gap anyway. Otherwise what’s the purpose of having the online hair loss assessment. I also didn’t like the fact that I had to sign a document agreeing to a second surgery after a year, this was presented to me in the surgery room as a precondition to proceeding with the procedure. I still believe this was wrong. The doctor tried to explain to me why I may need a second surgery. I don’t have issues with the explanation for the need to a second surgery but that shouldn’t be a precondition for the surgery. This could just be an awareness discussion, a recommendation, or a side note. At the moment it gave me a wrong impression that they were not confident with what they’re going to do. Overall, I’ll give this clinic 5/5 and would recommend it to a family or friend.

The procedure itself went very smoothly. Dr Ali is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and friendly, and the technicians were equally competent and attentive. Everyone involved was approachable and made the entire experience feel calm and well managed. The hotel accommodation was comfortable, and all airport and clinic transfers were prompt and perfectly organised. Aftercare has been genuinely outstanding, including a 30 day check in and an upcoming 3 month review, with the team always available to answer questions quickly and thoroughly. The care package provided by the clinic, including a hat, shampoo, lotion, and neck pillow, was high quality and a thoughtful extra. At this stage, everything looks to be progressing exactly as it should. I am following all medication and aftercare advice and am now patiently waiting for the final results. Overall, I honestly cannot identify any faults or concerns whatsoever. ...read moreMy experience was great. He addressed my immediate concerns as far as which areas I wanted transplanted first. He designed my new hairline which I love right now. The staff was friendly and did speak some English. Communication was not difficult. The procedure itself was good. The only things that truly bothered me were the shots. Very very painful. Once they kicked in, I didn't feel the remaining shots. I was in amd out of sleep because my husband and I traveled for an entire day so I didn't remember much of what was going on. A staff member did come and check on my frequently. I felt safe there. After the procedure, I ate lunch and received an aftercare, antibiotics and pain medication. The back of my head was bandaged pretty good. No excessive bleeding. I had my first hair was 2 days later and that felt good. I didn't experience any pain. Just from the initial 3 or 4 shots. Right now, there's just some mild tenderness and itching. I'm 1 month post procedure.
