Hello I had this same procedure done Dec 2023. In Jan 2024 I started calling the dr because the 4 bumps in my head did not go down they were actually getting bigger. I was told not to worry that this was normal and they would go away. in Feb 2024 there was something coming out of my head, once again I called to have them tell me they were going to tell the dr to call me but not to worry because this was normal. I called and called and called until I got tired and gave up. my last call and email was sometime in April 2024. My head is getting worst. I am now in excruciating pain. One of the open wounds looks like it’s rotting. I was referred to a plastic surgeon who has asked for my medical records to see exactly what it was that dr Desouza used so she can see what can be done but guess what they have not send my medical records. I am in pain, depressed embarrassed and afraid that this can causes permanent damage. Please do not have this procedure done. It is dangerous, painful and not worth it because there was no results only pain. The infection in my scalp is now spreading, my scalp and head are very tender my forehead hurts I have lots of headaches. They way the procedure was explained was that dr Desouza would pull on the muscles in my face and tight them but I was never told they were going to place anchors in my head which by looking at other complaints here apparently this is what was done. My surgeon needs to know exactly what was done and what is in my head so they can remove it safely but I have no idea what was placed in my head. Please read all reviews and if you need more info you can contact me directly and I will be more than happy to share my experience along with my pain and suffering due to this. Updated on 16 Apr 2025: Going for an ultrasound to see if whatever I have in my head can be removed. As you can see in the pictures I have a major infection. I have taken antibiotics, I had treatment with a dermatologist but it’s just getting worst.
I kept seeing advertisements for this "new" procedure called a PET lift almost 2 years ago, did as much research as I possibly could (wasn't a lot of info), and decided to give it a shot. Dr. De Souza is supposed to be the pioneer of this minimally invasive procedure that pulls/lifts skin to give the look of a facelift without the surgery/pain/expense that comes with it. The process was pretty straightforward, and the procedure was fine, but the after effects have been terrible. Anchors are pushed down into the muscles above the skull, and then threads are wrapped around and tightened (think like you're cinching together a trash bag or pursing your lips together to whistle). Well, that is the process performed to lift the muscles/tissues of the face. I have had extremely painful lumps in my head since the procedure in July 2023. Last week, two large (what appeared to be) zits formed into my hair line where the procedure was performed. I ended up popping these, and the amount of nasty, purulent drainage that came out was disgusting. It was a lot! I am suspecting that my body is doing everything that it can to purge these anchors, and at this point, I am very scared that I am going to end up with a severe infection, and have to have these surgically removed. And to top it all off, any benefits that I got from this procedure were gone in a few months. Such a waste of time and money, and I am still dealing with the effects of this awful procedure 15 months later!!
Horrible experience! I had my BBL in November of 2022 so I am over 2 years post op. I was told I could return to work after 6 weeks. I had look 360 & fat transfer to the glutes ($6500) with skin tightening (an extra $2k) The post op pain was so debilitating I could not return to work for 6 MONTHS. I had nerve damage in my low back and all over my abdomen. The mandatory post op “massage” the day after surgery was not lymphatic massage as advertised- the nurses who didn’t speak English at all made me go into a room by myself and my partner couldn’t come in- they SQUEEZED me from the top down and forced the lymphatic fluid out of the holes left from surgery. They did this for several minutes while I SCREAMED and cried in pain. The pain was so bad I threw up. I was given OxyContin which did not agree with me & I asked for a different less addictive medicine & they refused. I had two large seromas develop and they advised me to just massage them. I had to buy syringes & needled & drain them MYSELF. My abdomen healed looking decent but there are some dents. The fat transfer to my butt is gone now, the sides of my butt are flat but I have enhanced hips now. I will likely need a round 2 BBL. I also specifically asked for lipo from my armpit line down and they only did lipo from my waist down. No follow up or inquiry as to how I healed & all my messages ignored. I have friends who went to CG cosmetics for other procedures & had horrible experiences. Only go here if you like the idea of being a slab of meat in a chop shop. They likely have assistants nurses and students do the majority of the procedures.
I had my surgery on February 6 I’m 4 months post operation I got a Lipo 360 with fat transfer to buttocks (bbl) . You can clearly see a dent on my right side and on the right side of my belly there was fat left that you can clearly see my belly looks so uneven (it look like that the day after surgery and I was told it was due to the inflammation that it was going to go away )4 months after still the same . The day of my surgery there was two young man in the operating room beside the anesthesiologist that at they moment I was nervous and I didn’t bother to ask who they was ! I’m pretty sure my right side was done by a student and not by Dr de Souza , he barely marked my belly prior going in for surgery what I tough it was weird at first . Also no one has follow up since surgery ! Very unprofessional . Save you money and go somewhere else !
Dr. De Souza has failed to comply with the basic Medical and Clinical Ethical Principles, by ignoring a patient whom he operated on, and due to his lack of moral and professional obligations, my situation became very complicated costly, and emotionally damaging. Ethics is an inherent and inseparable part of clinical medicine as the physician has an ethical obligation to benefit the patient, to avoid or minimize harm and pain, and to respect the values and preferences of the patient, all of which, he and his staff decided to ignore. This is my experience with Dr. DeSouza and CG Cosmetics: On March 21, 2024, I had a cosmetic plastic surgery procedure with Dr. DeSouza. Before getting this surgery, I did my due diligence regarding this procedure (Instant Face Lift) which was supposed to be done only and exclusively by Dr. De Souza. The social media advertisement claims there are no cuts, no threads, and no recovery time. It also claims that there is no other doctor that can perform this procedure since it was developed by Dr. De Souza. I was told that I could resume my normal activity on the 2nd day after the procedure. 3 days after the surgery and upon my return to Chicago, I was in excruciating pain and 2 large bums (golf size) developed on each side of my head. I called the clinic to request to talk to Dr. De Souza to have a better understanding of what was happening and they told me that it was normal and that the bumps and pain would go away within a week. 2 weeks later, I was still experiencing the same symptoms, and my forehead had swollen to the point that I had to go to the emergency room. I called the clinic again and I requested to have the doctor call me and do an evaluation to see if there was an infection or if something went terribly wrong. I was then told to take Tylenol, and the bumps would take 2 to 3 weeks to fade but that Dr. De Souza was informed and I was going to get a video call from him. I waited for Dr. De Souza to call me or do the video call as I was promised. The emergency room needed to know what procedure was done to me but I couldn’t explain anything to them since the procedure wasn’t explained to me. As of today April 24, 2024, the pain is still excruciating with any facial movement (e.g. Smiling, laughing, or washing my face, etc.) and the bumps are still visible. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR HOPES WITH THIS DR OR CLINIC! Updated on 15 Oct 2024: As previously stated, I had this so called "procedure" on March 21, 2024. Today October 15. 2024 - 7 months - after, the bumps (abscess) on the left side of my head were still huge. I had to go to the ER for the 4th time. They sent me to see a plastic surgeon and this is what he extracted from my head. This is an absolute shocked to me because I was told there were no threads inserted and only god knw the in hell are those pieces of stuff the doctor pulled out of the incision #drdespuza put in me.
I had a terrible experience with Dr. Desouza during my liposuction procedure. Not only did he completely botch the surgery, leaving me with unevenness and unsightly results, but he also lied about treating certain areas that were clearly neglected. Despite reaching out to him multiple times via email for follow-up care, he ignored all of my messages and left me in the dark about how to address the issues with my procedure. To make matters worse, Dr. Desouza’s arrogant attitude was off-putting and unprofessional. He boasted about being the "king of BBL's" during a conversation , which only added to his already inflated ego. It's clear that he prioritizes his own reputation over the well-being and satisfaction of his patients. Overall, I would not recommend Dr. Desouza to anyone seeking cosmetic surgery. His lack of integrity, poor communication, and subpar results make him a doctor to avoid at all costs. Save yourself the headache and find a more reputable and caring surgeon who actually values their patients' concerns and well-being.
Had lipo of abdomen and back in December 2021, immediately I noticed my back did not look different and I had a very large gap in my abdomen. At follow up the Dr. admitted that it was fat and needed a second procedure but I would have to pay for the fees of the surgery center. I waited a year to see if it would get any better, it did not. I chose to do it awake to see the doctor present etc. The doctor was rude and for what ever reason they claimed I tested positive for a benzo. Which is 100% not true because I never take any pain meds. The whole time on the table he was bad mouthing me claiming I am taking benzo’s. Now 6 months post op I have a donut pocket of fat around my belly button along with a lot of uneven skin and marks from cannula. I reach out to the office every week asking for a refund or to speak to of their other surgeons but I so not get anywhere. The last email the office manager said that I signed something that says if I’m not happy I can not get a refund: this is not me being unhappy this is me being upset about having a bad doctor.
I had a great experience with Dr. DeSouza he gave me the natural looking results I was looking for. He does tons of skinny bbls so I Avery confident he could execute what I was looking for! He explained everything to me during preop and also told me the day of what to expect when I woke back up which was reassuring. He and his staff was available if needed which was very helpful. I had massages the facility and they also had IV hydration with vitamins for an additional cost. I also bought the tape the use for "smart recovery" this helped with drainage also saved me money on having to purchase massages back at home which were much more pricey than it was out there.
