This journey has been well deserved, and Dr. Kumar was fabulous at Mia in Baltimore I booked in June, and had my muscle repair tummy tuck, hernia repair, and breast lift no implant Monday…I am beyond pleased and it’s day two. Updated on 21 Oct 2022: 6 days post opp tomorrow, and I’m more upright, moving around, able to shower, and having my final appointment tomorrow. I think my surgical staff will be very pleased to see my results thus far Best choice I ever made for myself
Dr Kumar performed my Mommy Makeover surgery on 4/18/22 with Mia Aesthetics, the new Baltimore location. Dr Kumar was very patient with me, actively listened to what I wanted and provided his professional input so that I could make the right decisions for myself. His bedside manner is wonderful and he made sure to manage my expectations. I am 8 days post op today and am thrilled with my results. My MMO consisted of a Tummy Tuck with Lipo to the waist, Breast Augmentation (265cc Silicone under breast muscle) and a Breast Lift. At time of surgery I weighed 157lbs and am 5’7” with a BMI of 25. Updated on 15 Jul 2022: I am very pleased with my MMO (Tummy Tuck with Lipo to waist, Breast Lift, Breast Augmentation with 265cc silicone under the muscle). Dr Kumar has a great bedside manner and is very genuine. I have had a few issues: I lost feeling in one of my nipples, my aerola lost some of its color and shape and I have a dog ear on my right incision. Also, I have had numerous spitting stitches along my breast incisions. I recently submitted a request for revision for the dog ear which is pending approval from Dr Kumar. I did not get Lipo to my back but I’m now wishing I did. I will provide another update to advise status on the revision request. I’m no longer wearing my faja everyday so I do swell a bit in the evening and my tummy starts to feel tight. Updated on 22 Aug 2022: It’s been 4 months since my Mommy Makeover with Dr Kumar at Mia Aesthetics Baltimore and I am very pleased with my results. I had a tummy tuck with muscle repair and Lipo to flanks, breast lift and breast augmentation - 265cc silicone implants under the muscle. I have been approved for a revision regarding a dog ear where my incision ends on the right side. I will have to pay $750 out of pocket for the local anesthesia needed for the revision. Here are some recent pictures.
Words can not express the wonderful experience I had by choosing Dr. Kumar to perform my Tummy Tuck and Breast Augmentation. He and his staff were supportive throughout the process - pre and post surgery. Most importantly, I am pleased with my results.
Dr.Kumar is nice and very comfortable to be around. Before my surgery, I felt calm and I was VERY happy with the end results. If I ever need another surgery, I would definitely call up Dr.Kumar again.
I had my consultation with Dr. Kumar about a month ago. My insurance has approved my surgery and I am scheduled for surgery on June 6. I have struggled with back, and shoulder pain for years, and I think that it's time to do something about it. I'm both anxious and excited. There were no pictures on Dr. Kumar's practice website, nor did he show any pictures during the consult, however the practice he works for was highly recommended by my doctor. I will keep y'all posted through this process. Updated on 8 Jun 2016: I had my reduction on June 6th. The staff at St. Agnes were amazing and made me feel so comfortable. I don't even remember when I was given the anesthesia. When I woke up, I wasn't in any pain, however I felt dizzy and nauseous. It was impossible to eat and old food down, so I think the only think I ate was a few crackers on day one. I was given drains which are a pain. I cannot wait until they can be removed. Dr. Kumar saw me befor I left the hospital and providing me with further instructions. Dr. Kumar does not have a lot of personality, but I can truly say that he made me feel comfortable and he really listens to what the patient wants. One thing I will say about Dr. Kumar is to know what you WANT. He takes what you say into consideration down to the T right until he draws his markings. I haven't had to take to much of the pain meds, however it does help to relax you and ease the tension from so much sitting. Updated on 9 Jun 2016: So it's been four days and it's getting better each day. I am, however starting to feel more pain where the stitches are at. It's also very itchy after I shower. My breast are still very swollen. I think the worst part about it all is the drains. I cannot wait until the drains come out. Dr. Kumar took 1100 grams out of the left breast and 1200 grams out of the right. He said that's about 2 or 2 1/2 pounds off each side. I do feel a great deal of relief on my shoulders. I think I'm starting to go through a stage of uncertainty. I have had large breast for so long, it has become weird to see them so small. I sometimes wonder if this will be a decision I will regret. I know I could just possibly be in shock right now, and although I am having mixed emotions, the amount of back and shoulder relief is AMAZING. I will continue to keep you updated. Updated on 14 Jun 2016: So it's been eight days since my surgery and things are going well. I went to the doctor today and they removed the drains finally. It didn't hurt at all to have them removed. I was a little anxious about it after reading other reviews, but I honestly didn't feel anything. They also changed the steri strips today which was a little painful. I'm glad they changed them because all I could smell was blood and sweat. I didn't see Dr. Kumar because he was on vacation. I saw his colleague Dr. Grace and one of the PA's. Dr. Grace was very quick. I think I like Dr. Kumar because although he personality is professional and strict, as a patient I could tell that he cares and wants what's best for his orient. The office was also very crowded today with patients, and the CNA that was on staff was so rude. Overall my experience with the office has been good, and I am loving the job that Dr. Kumar has done so far Updated on 22 Jun 2016: So today I went to my second follow- up appointment and things are going well. I am 16 days post op and I feel great. Dr. Kumar was great as usual. Today I went to his Columbia office, which I like much better. The nurses there are awaome, and Suzie who works out of both of the offices is always pleasant. Today I had the steri strips taken off. It feels funny to have them off, I don't feel as secure, but Dr. Kumar stated that my healing is going well and I can start scar massages. I barely feel any pain and I constantly have to remind myself that I need to still be careful, and not raise my harms or make sudden movements, as I am still healing and the wombs can still open up. Updated on 30 Jun 2016: So it's been 21 days since my sugery and things are going well. I am out and about, and will be returning to work next week. I have noticed that there are some openings on my right breast, but I put steri strips over the wombs and hopefully they will close. Now that things are settling I am noticing that my right breast is bigger than the left and hangs lower. I can actually see my scars on the left breast without lifting the breast, but in the right breast I have to left it to see the scars. I also noticed that the scars in the right breast are thicker and raised. I know it's still early in recovery so I am going to patiently wait and see if anything changes. I will keep updating and I will post moreThe pics soon. Updated on 7 Jul 2016: I am one month post op and so far things have been going well. I recently noticed a yellow fluid coming from my right breast at the incision. The doctor stated that it's fluid still leaking from something called a Seroma. I have had a few red areas that look like a scratch, but no open wombs. I am still praying that I don't get any open wombs. The right breast has probably had the most problems, and I really don't like they way the doctor stitched the right breast. I recently started putting Shea butter and bio oil on the scars, but I decided not to continue with the scar massage because my breast are very irritated and develop red marks that look like freshly burnt skin. I'll continue with the scar massages when I'm closer to 7 weeks post op. I also don't like how the middle of my breast look, but I do like the shape, and the fact that they are perky. Overall, so far I am satisfied with the results. I will continue to post updates. Updated on 5 Aug 2016: So I am 8 weeks out and things are going well. I recently had to make a doctors visit because I had stitches poking through. It caused some swelling and extreme irritation and some pain. Dr. Kumar pulled the stitches out and it was a huge relief. My scars are raised but they still look good. I have been doing scar massages and using bio oil, Shea butter, and Mederma. I don't like the Mederma because it's sticky and flakes. I am going to try Bio corneum next. I still have a little bit of swelling. There are still spots on my left breast that are num. hopefully as time goes on the feeling will come back. I do have sensation in both nipples. I no longer have any restrictions and life is back to normal. My right breast is larger than the left but I still love the result Updated on 17 Oct 2016: So it's been about 16 weeks since my surgery and things are going well. I feel like I'm getting bigger and bigger with each month. The doctor said they would get smaller but they are definitely getting bigger. I can fit D and DD bras. Anything is better then what I was before. I haven't felt back pain since the day of surgery and it's amazing. My scars are starting to soften and the redness is slowly going away. The scars are still thick, however I am very happy that they haven't keloided and hopefully they won't. I have been using bio oil at night and coco butter in the morning. The mederma didn't work and left my skin itchy and flakey. I purchased Bio coredum but it did the same thing as The mederma. I think the scars will naturally fade over time. Over all I am very happy with my results. Hopefully they won't continue to get bigger. Updated on 29 Nov 2016: Today was my final appointment with Dr. Kumar. I can truly say that this has been a pleasant experience. My recovery went well, I am healing well, and I am truly happy with my results. The decision to get a breast reduction was one of the best decisions that I ever made and I am so happy that I decided against it 3 years ago, because I would have went with another doctor. Dr. Kumar and staff have been great the entire way. My scars are starting to flatten more and the redness is almost completely gone. I still use the bio oil and massage the scars twice a week. I still have some achy pains in the morning but it's tolerable. I also have some pain on the right breast we're the incision line is at when I wear a wire bra, but I expect that will diminish with time. I will say though, my breast are very itchy at times, but it's nothing that the bio oil and massage doesn't fix. My breast are a great size. I no longer have back pain and my posture has significantly improved.
Loving the New Me - Baltimore, MD
I will put up pictures soon. I am yet to go through with the procedure. pre op was however a breeze. I was warmly welcomes and he took a look at it. we talked about it and how he just needed to remove tissue since I had no fat on me. so he will just be doing excision which is fairly easy. ill be under local anesthesia Updated on 8 Apr 2015: Updated on 9 Apr 2015: I took pictures when I took a shower Updated on 21 Apr 2015: Man. Where do I start. Haha. Don't forget this is all in good spirits. Well about a week after surgery, I noticed a swelling which obviously was a seroma on my right side only. Its what the body does. Anyways, I had it aspirated today a week after i noticed and it was deathly painful. I tolerate pain very well. Haha. But now, it looks 10 times better. It was swollen but now it looks like my other side. I'm only two weeks post op so I'm not even going to put pictures up. I understand everytyhing needs time to heal. I'll wait till my one month to post. Ttylr. Damn. Just thinking about it. Lol. Updated on 6 May 2015: There is still a lump of scar tissue under both. This is a picture after a shower. I know and hope the scar tissue goes down. Also I can see color slowly coming back in. If not, I'll prob get cosmetic tattoo to shade it in Updated on 12 May 2015: Updated on 6 Jun 2015: So. After research, I found out that I have suture granuloma. even with that one side looks great, the other side looks a little bit puffy. but that's okay. my red scars are also gradually fading. I will still wait to post pictures. Let's not forget because even I do that I am just 2 months out. Sometimes I forget. I may need ultrasound therapy or steroid injections but I will take that up with my doctor the next time I see him which is in august. That's when I will post some more pics. Those will reduce the scar hopefully. But I understand my body doesn't recognize the stitches that's why it clumped cells in the area of the stitch Updated on 24 Jun 2015: I still feel the lump which I still like to think is scar tissue Updated on 7 Aug 2015: so I had about an inch of scar tissue that was white underneath my areola where the incision was made. I was getting worried about it and went to get it tattooed in. there was the problem of the scar tissue not taking ink but after almost 5 days since, it looks great. I will post pictures soon. I think I am ready to go to the beach now. there is still a little bit of internal scar tissue there making my nipples a little bit puffy but I am soo happy. ill talk to my doctor if he could soften things with steroids or laser but I am very happy. pictures coming soon. Updated on 23 Oct 2015: It looks great now. I still feel scar tissue there behind the incision. I really hope it goes away but that is not my main concern. My concern is my scar color on the surface. It has gotten better but I'll be patient. Here are pictures Updated on 22 Dec 2015: I noticed a lot of people after post op don't post anymore. Well I want to say that I am very satisfied with my results even after a suture that would not dissolve was removed a month ago. This was in my right nipple and I always felt like there was something there. We'll not it looks way better. I WANT TO ADVICE EVERYBODY THAT YOU NEED TO GIVE YOUR BODY TIME TO HEAL. TRUST ME. I cant emphasize enough. At 8 months, there is a little hypopigmentation, I'll post pictures tomorrow , but scar has reduced by 85 percent and I feel really happy with the results. I'll definitely need a very minor areola repigmented but right now I am happy. Give your body a year to heal. Scar tissue will form bigger than your gyno. That is ok. Updated on 29 Jan 2016: It is almost a year since my surgery and I can say it is worth it. GO GET IT IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY. DO IT. Well last week, I want and got just the hypopigmented part of my scar tattooed and it took the ink. I look great in gotta admit. It really looks great. I am not in the best of shape as I have become so comfortable with my chest that I eat a lot more and don't work out, which isn't a bad thing. Funny thing is a used exercise to compensate for the man boobs when I had em. Well, anyways. If anybody got any questions. Please dont hesitate to contact and ask. I can now go to the beach this summer in the tiniest of chubbies I can find. I really like the way it came out for me. I am very comfortable in my skin now. Here are the pictures after the tattoo. I will go in for my last appointment with the doctor in April for pictures. I think I will get ripped for those pictures. I am really excited
Breasts usually stop developing in later teenage years. It can vary but when the size stabilizes in later teen years, the development may be complete. Breasts may change with regards to volume with pregnancy, weight loss or gain and depending on the skin elasticity / aging may begin to sag with time.
There is no ideal age for rhinoplasty. It depends on the severity of the deformity. Generally, most surgeons will wait till after teenage years to correct deformity.
This is a question that is best answered by you as the first question a Plastic Surgeon will ask you is what is about your nose that you do not like and would like to change. If a surgeon starts with various choices, he or she has not listened to your goals / expectations and the final result may be what the surgeon wants rather than what you want. I would advise you to make a list of issues that you are unhappy with or bother you and then visit the surgeons for a consultation.
Sorry to hear about your muscle spasms. Looks as if you have excellent result. The spasms will improve with time. Limit your activity to help with your spasms, especially repetitive movement or heavy lifting. Muscle relaxants can help but please check with your plastic surgeon as they do have side effects.
Your results look good but looking at the upper pole fullness, looks like the implants may still drop a little. Sometimes it may take patients a little longer (6-9 months) to realize the end result. Continue with massage, be patient, and discuss it with your plastic surgeon.
