After a septorhinoplasty left me unable to breathe, I spent months meeting with surgeons, local and out-of-state, to see what could be done. I had almost lost hope when I walked into Dr. Terella's office. But he seemed confident he could fix me. Three months later...he has. I'm just a few days out of surgery, and I already feel like I have my life back.
I was in a MVA on 7/31/01 and along with a lot of injuries my face was completely shattered including my nose. The doctors said I would never have a functioning nose but because of Dr. Adam Terella's surgery he completely repaired everything that was wrong with my nose. He truly is an amazing doctor and my nose is completely functional thanks to his amazing work.
I broke my nose surfing and couldn't breath well out of the left side of my nose for months. It turns out the inside of my nose had been knocked to the right even though the outside wasn't noticeably crooked. I also had a lot of scar tissue and calcium build up on the bone of my nose as a result of the trauma.
After being diagnosed with a facial melanoma and losing a large portion of the left side of my face, I was referred to Dr. Terella for my reconstructive surgeries. Less than a year after my surgeries and laser treatments, I receive compliments on the natural appearance and symmetry of my face as the healing continues. I turn those compliments over to Dr. Terella and his expertise and excellent care. I am extremely grateful to Dr. Terella for restoring my face, and could not have asked for a more compassionate and caring physician to guide me through this difficult ordeal with such positive results!
I like to keep my costs down around $1000 per quarter of the year for both filler and botox (I'm 58 and spent too much time in the sun when I was younger). He figures out what he can provide (with discounts whenever possible) and gives me a very reasonable price to meet my desired outcome. I am very happy with his care, I strongly recommend him to anyone interested in fillers and/or Botox. He does a great job and always gives me the best value for my money.
Cosmetic surgery is a difficult process and finding a good doctor is most critical. I found Dr. Adam Terella to be a very good doctor. From our consultation, I recognized right away that he is very attentive to my concerns and gave me various options. His priority is to make my face most natural, balanced and beautiful. Two days after the surgery, the pain and puffiness were practically gone, and there was no noticeable scar. From beginning to end, I see that Dr. Terella is motivated by a passion for his work. He is a skillful doctor and a genuine artist. I have gained much confidence and am completely happy with the result. I feel beautiful.
I have all pros and no cons about my surgery. I was completely stuffed up for about 8 days after my surgery, which Dr. Terella told me to expect, and then it subsided within the following week. Now, a month later, my nasal passages are completely clear. Before my surgery, I was worried about having a dry nose. My nasal passages are not dry at all.. A week after my surgery, I was working again and was able to resume my exercise regimen without restrictions. I'm very pleased with the results. My breathing has greatly improved (goodbye to my snoring) and my nose looks great. He reduced the turbinates, re-aligned the septum, took some cartilage from my nose and reinserted it elsewhere to open my airways and made some cosemtic enhancements. My nose is tender but not sore. The tenderness is subsiding with time. I definitely recommend Dr. Terella because he is a very knowledgeable and professional doctor. I'm glad I chose him to do my surgery..I couldn't be happier!
Nearly one year after surgery, I feel it is unlikely that you will notice appreciable change of your nasal bridge. Photos would be helpful to determined if further surgery could achieve your goals. However, a consultation with a surgeon experienced in revision rhinoplasty is ultimately best.
Sorry to see this injury. There are several things that will help limit scarring. I would recommend applying vaseline or antibiotic ointment for the next few days. The sutures should be removed at approximately 5 days, and not left in place too much longer than this. It will be important to keep the healing wound out of the sun, and use sunscreen regularly once the skin has healed. All scars will improve over approximately 12 months. I hope this helps.
Prominent ears are most commonly caused by a combination of two factors: 1) under development of what we call the “antihelical fold” and 2) overdevelopment of the “conchal bowel.” The key to achieving a “natural” appearance is correctly and precisely analyzing your ears. Your surgeon can then make an appropriate surgical plan using many available techniques. Generally speaking, it has been my experience that very prominent ears often have both conchal bowel excess and a weak antihelical fold. In this case, the ideal outcome comes from reestablishing the antihelix and weakening/reducing the conchal bowel. I often combine both techniques. Avoiding a surgical appearance, “telephone ear, or anti-telephone ear” takes judgment and artistry. Any portion of the ear (upper third, middle third, or lobule) placed too close or far to the scalp will be unnatural appearing. My goal for otoplasty, is to have the ears essentially disappear as a focus of point. Peoples eyes are not drawn to “natural” appearing ears. The “elf like” appearance may require less commonly used techniques and would be difficult for me to comment on without an exam. I hope this answers some of your questions.
