I just wanted to take my time to share my experience with Dr Goretti. It’s been three months since I got my breast implants and breast lift done by Dr Goretti Ho Taghva and I am over the moon with my results. I told the doctor I wanted big beautiful natural boobs and that’s exactly what I got! Dr Goretti went over all my options with me for the implant type as well as the incision site very throughly. I loved how much knowledge she had about everything on top of being so honest and transparent about my individual situation and how we were going to achieve my goals. I am so happy with the choice of implant as well as profile that I got which were the mentor boost high profile implants. Beyond her professionalism, amazing bedside manner, skillful approach to everything and intensive knowledge I really appreciated how comfortable Dr Goretti Ho Taghva and her staff made me feel whenever visiting the office. Because Dr Goretti Ho Taghva is a female plastic surgeon, I felt so much more comfortable talking to her about my body because she understands the female body, being a women herself! The whole experience was a breeze from start to finish. Donna the treatment coordinator there, was super sweet and helpful! She didn’t hesitate to get back to me whenever I had a question or concern! I am beyond happy I choose Dr Goretti Ho Taghva to be my plastic surgeon. I am absolutely in love with my boobs now and feel like these are the boobs I’ve been wanting for my whole life. Healing has been so easy compared to some of the stories and experiences I’ve read about. I feel like my life is completely back to normal expect I have these amazing boobs now! I am so thankful for Dr Goretti Ho Taghva and the incredible confidence this women has given me. I cannot recommend her enough to anyone thinking of getting a BA. You will not be disappointed!!
I have been with Dr. Taghva over six months since Jan 2024 and wanted to give a thorough review, history, and experience with Dr. Taghva and LEA Plastic Surgery. I wanted to perform a Lower Blepharoplasty surgery in order remove my excessive fat deposits under both my eyelids but was afraid on WHO and WHERE to perform this surgery. Based on my exhausting research, I have concluded that there is NO non-invasive procedure that can remove the fat deposits under my eyes which was confirmed with numerous plastic surgeons. This being the case, my final decision was to choose a doctor who made me feel comfortable and was meticulous in their practice. After many consultations with numerous doctors, I chose Dr. Taghva. Pros: 1) No consultation fee (ALL others wanted to charge me $250-500 per consultation). 2) During my initial video call, Dr. Taghva was patient and took the time in explaining my current skin concern and answered ALL my questions (which was a LOT) since I was nervous and never had any cosmetic surgery before. 3) No pressure or sales pitch from Dr. Taghva 4) I could tell Dr. Taghva was genuinely engaged and qualified to handle my skin concerns and remedies (remove fat deposits, reduce hyper-pigmentation, unevenness skin tone, reduce wrinkles, youthful look, etc). 5) Dr. Taghva was genuinely confident in handling my needs in order to get my final outcome and results. 6) Extensive medical background and education (a MUST for me) 7) Actual surgery room was literally next door to her office in the same building (all inclusive medical support and procedure). A major plus and a MUST for me. 8) On the day of my surgery, I had more questions and concerns, but she answered all of them to put me at ease. I truly felt comfortable. 9) Dr. Taghva's staff was friendly, professional, and supportive. 10) Post surgery and follow-up call was an amazing experience since I was not expecting this. 11) Environment was extremely clean, refreshing, and calm experience 12) No scarring or complications after surgery other than swelling and bruising which was informed to me prior to surgery 13) My recovery was minimal (approx. 2-3 weeks) since I took Dr. Taghva's advice religiously 14) Additional benefit of having a Lower Blepharoplasty surgery with Dr. Taghva was that she was able to perform at the same time a slight lower eye lift to reduce my lower eye wrinkles (no extra charge). 15) Huge improvements & results after my surgery. My friends could not believe that I had eye surgery and commented that I looked younger and refreshed. No one could see any surgery complications or issues other than the stitches and slight bruising after one week. Cons: NONE Neutral: Only wished Dr. Taghva was located closer to me but definitely worth the drive. Other Procedures/Services: After my surgery I was extremely enthused in solving and addressing my hyper-pigmentation, unevenness skin tone, reduce wrinkles, youthful look, etc. but wanted to incorporate the best "laser type" procedure for my concerns and condition but did NOT want micro-needling. Dr. Taghva suggested and recommended BBL (BroadBand Light) and MOXI Laser in combination with a medical grade daily skin care routine (ZO) for BEST results. Dr. Taghva highly recommended ZO Skincare in order to achieve amazing results in combination with BBL and Moxi Laser. She also informed me that she has all the current machines and equipment in the industry but recommended BBL and Moxi Laser for me while using ZO skincare everyday. After my 2nd BBL and Moxi Laser treatment including my daily ZO skincare routine, my face has taken a 360 degree change and hasn't looked this good in over 15+ years (see pics). I am currently 55 years old and have used several OTC brands of skincare (Korean beauty, retinol, chemical peels, etc) for the past 15 years with little or minimal results. Nothing seemed to work as well as ZO. Results with ZO for 6+ months was way more effective than 15 years of OTC brands (wasted money for the last 15 years on other brands). I highly recommend Dr. Taghva and her staff.
I'm about 2 months ago post-op my full-incisional double eyelid surgery and epicanthoplasty, and I'm pretty happy with the results. The Dr. recommended a 6mm incision and I asked her to excise as much skin as possible for my epicanthoplasty and make the inner corners pointed, rather than rounded. My double eyelid crease and inner corner excision has really opened up my eyes! The procedure itself was not too painful, the most unpleasant part was local anesthesia injection, suture stitching and removal. My eyelids were extremely swollen post-surgery to the point where I looked like the corpse bride and could barely open my eyes for the first few days post-op, but the swelling and bruising did subside, although slowly. The Dr., Ella, and Kory were all very sweet and attentive, taking time to answer my questions, although the in-person consultation felt a bit rushed. Ella also allowed me to get some extra red light therapy sessions in to speed up wound healing :) My eyelids are currently healing at different rates, and the right eyelid incision is still raised and slightly red. The area of skin that connects my inner corner stitch and my full incisional stitches is surprising thick, red and raised on both eyelids, which has slightly changed the shape of my eyes. I do believe this is just temporary swelling, and will subside with time and scar gel use. My epicanthoplasty scars, surprisingly, are not very visible, which I'm pleased with. Overall, I have high hopes that as swelling subsides and I continue to heal, my eyes will continue to look more natural with time. The only thing I would note is that swelling for double eyelid surgery with this Dr. seems to last longer, based on the healing timeline I've seen for other double eyelids online. However, she gives patients really pretty and natural-looking results, so a slightly longer recovery is worthwhile.
I underwent asian rhinoplasty, with Dr. Taghva, about 2 months ago. I recognized she wasn’t sought out often for rhinoplasties, but I considered her because I wanted to get another procedure done simultaneously. I was satisfied with the results she displayed in the before & after gallery, and when I visited her during my virtual and in-person consultations, she was very upfront and realistic about what she believed I should and should not get done. Her transparency and extensive experience with Asian patients, and tendency towards conservativeness when doing surgeries, is what really drew me in — there’s many unscrupulous surgeons who’ll do procedures for money, but Taghva (or at least gives off the impression that she) only performs surgeries she believes will benefit a patient. I ended up getting a tip augmentation with a donated rib cartilage, and alar base reduction. The consultation that led to this decision was pretty short — I asked about bridge slimming, but she advised against it because it was too invasive, and she didn’t think it would suit my face. Surgery day went smoothly — when I woke, there was little pain, mostly brain fog from general anesthesia. However in my first 48 hours post-op, I developed a low-grade fever from anesthesia, my nose (and face) ached making it difficult to sleep without meds, and my nose bled profusely, requiring me to replace my gauze mustache 4-5x/day. These symptoms of short-term inflammation cleared up quickly, and the Dr. and her team of nurses including Kory and Ella scheduled frequent check-ups in my first week post. Ella was incredibly sweet, and offered us additional red light therapy treatments to help speed up wound healing :) 2 months post-op my nose is very natural-looking — smaller (front-view) than my original nose, although the tip is still a little high from the side (not high enough to be noticeable by the untrained eye). I honestly don’t think anyone has been able to notice my nose has been operated on, which is a pleasant surprise. Something to note however, is that I still had dark blue (non-dissolvable type) stitches poking out the bottom of my nostrils the first month post — somehow they all disappeared during the healing process, except one which (per the Dr’s recommendation) I plucked out myself. My nostril scars are smoother and significantly less noticeable than month 1 post, although they’re still present. Somehow I’m dealing with both hyper and hypotrophic scarring, as well as two random bumps that look like colorless pimples. Still waiting for the tip swelling to dissipate and my scars to even out, but I’m hopeful that my nose job will begin looking even more subtle/natural in the coming months! Overall, very grateful to the whole team: Donna, Kory, Ella, and Dr. Taghva, for their kindness, positivity, and responsiveness — they’ve made rhinoplasty and recovery as pleasant an experience possible!
Dr. Goretti Taghva is an absolute ARTIST in the world of plastic surgery (especially when it comes to double eyelid surgery)!! I cannot rave about her enough! Look at my before & after! Granted it's only been about 10 days but wow wow wow! I am 36 Asian F, always had double eyelids but they were lightly uneven. My eyes used to be bright & captivating & absolutely loved my eyes in my teens/early adult. However as I aged I saw how tired I am starting to look & I wanted to freshen up! I want to look like me but better! I did my research for years & settled on Dr. Taghva in 2020 but COVID happened. I also saw negative reviews that were written about Dr. Taghva which made me put this procedure on hold. I went back to square one & looked up doctors specializing in upper blepharoplasty & my research kept directing me back to Dr. Taghva because of her natural & consistent results! Her demeanor is calm, her education/training is exceptional, and her words stayed with me: "I am not perfect, but I will try my best to get you the look you want", "I'll make you look like you but better". I finally made my decision & booked the procedure! Best decision ever! I'll write a separate review to document my healing journey, but this review is to show you my 10 day progress & how happy I am with my result! You are truly the best, Dr. Taghva! Thank you for your impeccable care & delivering your promise of making me look like me but so much better!
Hi everybody, I am 62 and this was my second facelift 12 years after 1st one. By the way, first SMASS facelift was a great success and lasted 10 years as promised. Then the face dropped and down and neck was hanging beneath i,t and I could not live with it any longer. I chose to have Deep Plane facelift when I saw the results pictures of other patients: not just better face AND neck, but all signs of ageing, caused by sagging skin & underlying tissues simply removed. You can judge from my pictures. I cannot praise doctor Ho Taghva enough for the job done and highly recommend her from every standpoint. Yes, it was expensive: $32,000 for facelift and additional #12,000 for chin implant, lip lift and nose narrowing, but worth every penny. I look at it that way: I could buy a new car for 5 years or a new face + neck for 10-15 years (it is supposed to last longer than SMASS facelift): which is a better deal?
Dr. Goretti did a phenomenal job on my double eyelid surgery. I had it done when I was a teenager about 15 years ago but it has semi-faded since then and left my eyes uneven. I have always wanted to get it fixed but didn’t know who to trust so I was afraid to bite the bullet. When I met Dr. Goretti I pretty much knew right away she was going to be my surgeon! She is so kind, professional, and easy to talk to, and it truly shows how much empathy she has for her patients. I decided to move forward with the surgery because I felt comfortable in her care. She also has a great online portfolio of before & after photos. It’s been 5 months since my surgery and my eyes look great!
Breast Implant Removal/Liposuction/Breast fat Transfer I am 42, mother of two, and had my breast implant for 20 years. My implants got harden over the years, it was very painful. I really wanted to take it out. but I had been afraid the end results would be worse. Last year, my health started declining, I was diagnosed with thyroid issue. My doctor told me I would have to take thyroid medication for life. Finally, I decided to remove the implant. I worried my breast would look deflated after the implants removal and decided to get fat transfer as well. I found the best Doctor I can ever ask for Dr. Goretti Ho Taghva. I had my first consultation in Jan 2023. She answered all my questions and concerns. she explained in details the risks and expectations. she's very patient, professional, informative. I had my surgery in May 2023. everything went great. What I love about her the most is she was very transparent and realistic about expectations. Nothing sugar coated, pure honesty!! Here I am, 4 months after my surgery. My only regret is that I did not do this sooner. I feel better emotionally, physically and mentally. In addition, I am off my thyroid medication! Maybe the implants trigger my thyroid spike up in the first place?? Let me know if anyone experience the same issue. Last, thank you so much Dr. Goretti Ho Taghva and her team for this life changing procedure!! Highly recommended !!!
I wanted to wait at least 3 months before I wrote this review so that I could give a detailed review on the results. I was aware that my eyes would be swollen for awhile since I had both the upper bleph and epicanthoplasty. Just to break it down to three components: Results: Couldn't be happier. Scarring isn't bad at all and it's been a very smooth recovery. The results are exactly what I hoped for, and the doctor delivered :) I wanted huge eye lids, but the doctor communicated what was feasible with my anatomy (I have very thick skin). With that said, she made sure I got the results I wanted. Doctor's Expertise: A friend recommended Dr. Goretti in 2016 and she's been on my list since then. She's very talented and she takes pride her work - which I appreciate and can trust her more, because my case isn't just another surgery case, it's something she ensures to deliver at the highest standard. I am very content as a patient because, knowing what I wanted, the doctor wasn't too conservative or overtly aggressive on the procedure. It was EXACTLY what I wanted and nothing was lost in translation. Patient care: The reason why I chose Goretti over going to Korea per se, was the patient care and follow up's. Surgeries can be intimidating and for me, it gets so stressful because I care about the little things and end up having a lot of questions during the after care and overall recovery phase. Thankfully, all my questions were answered right away and the aftercare guidance was very easy to follow. The staff has been very helpful - they are all so sweet and make you feel welcomed. Would 100% recommend her for your eyelid surgery.
Dr. Taghva is beyond friendly and calm. I was anxious about the procedure, but her pleasant demeanor was super assuring. Also, she was clear and organized, and obviously very skilled at what she does. I am pleased with my results. All the LEA staff are great and welcoming.
Yes, the concern you have about wide-set eyes can be addressed surgically. The procedure you're referring to is known as medial epicanthoplasty. This surgery is often performed alongside Asian double eyelid surgery but can also be done independently. Medial epicanthoplasty involves the modification of the medial canthal area to elongate the appearance of the eyes. By doing so, it effectively reduces the intercanthal distance, making the eyes appear closer together. This procedure can be a suitable option for individuals looking to make their epicanthal folds appear less pronounced, or to alter the spacing of their eyes, making it a potentially viable solution for your concerns about wide-set eyes. However, as with any surgical procedure, it's crucial to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced in such procedures to discuss the risks, benefits, and feasibility in your specific case.
In Asian double eyelid surgery, the necessity of muscle excision depends on the specific muscle and surgical technique. For the orbicularis oculi muscle, a small slip is usually excised in the incisional method to create a more defined crease, but it's not removed in the suture technique. Regarding the levator muscle, crucial for ptosis surgery, it's typically not excised. Instead, the levator's aponeurosis is adjusted to enhance eyelid elevation while preserving the muscle fibers. The decision between muscle excision and other techniques should be made with an experienced board certified surgeon, balancing the goals of achieving a desired aesthetic result with maintaining eyelid functionality.
It is indeed true that the incision line and the eyelid crease might not align exactly due to the dynamic nature of eyelid structures and the way skin stretches and heals. The eyelid is a complex, moving part of the body, so the positioning of the crease post-surgery can vary slightly from the incision line. However, generally, these two should be close to each other for a natural look. My personal preference is to have the lateral part of the incision align closer to the crease because of how the natural eye contour slopes down naturally towards the lateral ends, which would create visible flaring at the lateral ends of the incisions if the incision is placed too high. It's important to communicate your aesthetic preferences and concerns with your surgeon, as they can tailor the surgical technique to meet your specific needs and desired outcomes.
Don’t stop smiling, you have a genuinely beautiful smile on your photo! I understand your concerns about the wrinkles and skin folding under your eyes, but that can be addressed. Given your history of upper and lower blepharoplasty and regular Botox treatments, you're certainly proactive about your appearance, which is commendable. However, Botox may not be able to address the skin excess issue effectively. A potential solution could be a lower blepharoplasty, possibly combined with a mid-face lift. This procedure, performed through the lower blepharoplasty incision, can help in tightening the skin and reducing the appearance of wrinkles and folds. Additionally, a nanofat transfer, which involves using your body's own fat to improve skin quality and add subtle volume, might also be beneficial. Laser resurfacing treatments are another option to consider. These treatments can improve skin texture and stimulate collagen production, which may help in reducing the appearance of wrinkles. However, it's important to set realistic expectations, as the improvement from laser treatments might not be as drastic as surgical interventions. Consulting with a qualified board certified plastic surgeon can give you a better understanding of the most suitable options for your specific case. They can guide you through the choices, ensuring that you make an informed decision that aligns with your goals. I wish you all the best in finding the right solution that allows you to smile freely and confidently again!
Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding your incisional double eyelid surgery. I understand how distressing it can be when a surgical outcome doesn’t meet your expectations. Based on your description, it seems unlikely that the triple fold is a result of the fat graft. It's more probable that it’s due to the asymmetric incision and/or pretarsal fixation technique performed during the surgery. These factors are crucial in determining the final appearance of the eyelid, and asymmetry in these steps can lead to uneven results. While it’s normal for there to be some degree of swelling after such a procedure, prolonged swelling usually resolves over time. In your case, if the triple fold is indeed a result of the surgical technique rather than swelling, it's unlikely that it will improve significantly with time. Hence, waiting until May 2024, as advised by your clinic in Korea, is a reasonable approach. This will give your body ample time to heal fully and will provide a clearer picture for any potential revision. Should the issue persist, seeking a revision surgery seems to be the most plausible course of action. It's important to remember that, although we strive for perfection, revision surgeries are sometimes necessary in the field of plastic surgery, especially bilateral structures on the face! I empathize with your situation and understand the anxiety and uncertainty that comes with it. I wish you all the best for your healing journey and hope that your revision surgery, if needed, will bring you the results you desire.
