After seven years with breast implants, I decided to have them removed due to back and shoulder pain, as well as symptoms related to breast implant illness. I researched several surgeons and chose Dr. Plant based on his expertise and positive reviews. From start to finish, the entire team was professional and caring. Dr. Plant was very supportive of my reasons for explant, and I felt confident in his care. I had 400cc high-profile implants placed under the muscle 8 years ago and had my explant with a lift with Dr. Plant. The postop care was excellent, and communication post op was excellent, they were always checking in with me and I felt very supportive ( and I’m out of town). I'm four months post-op now, and my recovery is going great with minimal scarring. I highly recommend Dr. Plant for anyone considering explant or any other plastic surgery.
I am so glad I came to Dr. Plant. Not only were the staff friendly, every step was explained clearly and patiently with no pressure. He takes every safety precaution. My results were wonderful, I cannot recommend him enough as a surgeon.
I recently had a breast explant and lift performed by Dr. Plant, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the exceptional care I received. From my initial consultation to post-op recovery, Dr. Plant and his entire medical team demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and expertise. The OR staff made me feel completely at ease on the day of surgery, ensuring I was comfortable and well-informed. Their kindness and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Dr. Plant’s skill and precision truly shine through in my results—I feel healthier, lighter, and more confident than ever! Additionally, the medical office staff were always responsive, friendly, and supportive, making the entire process seamless. If you are considering an explant or any procedure with Dr. Plant, I highly recommend him. His expertise, bedside manner, and commitment to patient care are second to none! Thank you to Dr. Plant and his amazing team for giving me such a positive experience and beautiful results!
I’ve always felt self-conscious about my asymmetrical, small and slightly tuberous breasts. As I got older, they only became more droopy and deflated, and I finally decided last year to look into surgical options. I consulted with a few local surgeons, but it wasn’t until I met with Dr. Plant that I felt confident enough to go ahead with surgery. I immediately felt that Dr. Plant was genuinely invested in understanding and helping me achieve my goals, and that he was taking the time to formulate a tailored, thoughtful surgical approach rather than just a cookie cutter solution, which put me at ease. I felt so confident in him that I booked my procedure on the spot—and I’m so happy I did! Six weeks post-op, I’m totally in love with my new breasts - they’re exactly what I hoped for and look natural, symmetrical, and perfectly proportioned to my body. I feel so much more confident in myself, both in and out of clothing. Dr. Plant is an incredibly skilled surgical artist. He also has an amazing team who have all been incredibly kind and helpful, and I’ve felt supported throughout the entire experience.
I am having an extended tummy tuck+ and BBL on September 8th, 2025, with Dr. Plant! Hi everyone, I’m so excited to share the journey I am about to go through and continue updating you until 1 year post-op. I have gained and lost significant amounts of weight over the years. Finally, in 2019 (at my highest weight), I decided to have a gastric sleeve, and since then, I have maintained my weight for about four years. I told Dr. Plant that I wanted to remove the excess skin around my lower stomach area while still maintaining a feminine hourglass figure. I mentioned that I had seen many before and after pictures where people get a tummy tuck but end up looking very straight. In my opinion, they fixed one problem but were left with another (a boxy figure). He completely understood my concerns and explained how he could enhance the hourglass figure I’m looking for during the tummy tuck procedure. I also shared with him that I absolutely love rounded, feminine hips and would like to fill in the small hip dips I have to further enhance this area. He was very honest and told me he would not do it without performing a BBL as well. Initially, I told him I didn’t want a BBL, he reassured me that he doesn't create exaggerated results (unless requested) but instead focuses on creating a natural, proportional look. To clarify, I have very little volume in my butt—my back nearly blends into it. With his reassurance, I decided to go ahead with the BBL to help achieve the hourglass figure I desire without looking disproportionate. He also explained that he would not perform hip augmentation without some fat transfer to the butt as well because it would look unbalanced, which I completely agreed with. Additionally, I have HS (Hidradenitis Suppurativa) on my groin and bum area. Dr. Plant and his team are fully aware of this, and they have assured me that the BBL can still be safely performed. To be completely honest, my biggest fear right now is the pain after surgery. I know pain is inevitable, but my last two surgeries involved being prescribed oxycodone, which didn’t seem to work for me anymore. It didn’t relieve my pain, nor did it make me drowsy like it did when I had my wisdom teeth removed. I’m not sure why it no longer seems effective, but I plan to discuss this concern with Dr. Plant at my pre-op appointment a few weeks before surgery. So far, my experience with the clinic has been the best I’ve ever had. I had consultations with five other surgeons before choosing Dr. Plant, and he and his team have been by far the most responsive, supportive, and professional. They’ve made me feel comfortable and cared for, treating me as a vulnerable human being rather than just another number or paycheck. I’m very happy with my decision so far and will continue to update you with photos and progress before and after surgery!
I cannot describe how amazed I am with Dr.Plant’s work. I got a tummy tuck with 360 lipo and fat transfer to my butt. I also added arm lipo. I am sooo happy with my results. I gained my confidence after 3 kids. I could have not asked for a better experience. My belly button looks AMAZING! Best surgeon out there. The cherry on the cake is his staff. All the ladies are so kind, welcoming and caring. This was a life changing surgery for me and I am so glad I got it done by Dr.Plant’s.
I am 9 months post op from my abdominalplasty and could not be happier with my results. As a result of an 80 lb weight loss back in 2010 I had developed some loose skin. It had always bothered me and I finally decided to get rid of it in October 2023. My recovery was about 6 week’s although only the first 2 I would describe as uncomfortable and I did have a bit of regret as my skin felt very tight but it has regained elasticity in time. My scars have healed very nicely and are barely noticeable. I cannot thank dr plant enough and it’s hard to overstate how much better I feel about my appearance now that the dreadful looking loose skin is gone.
I had a tummy tuck, liposuction and bbl. Working with Dr Plant and his team was amazing! Dr Plant and the team always made me feel comfortable and took away any worries - from the very beginning when I initially reached out to a consultation all the way to my 3 month check up. The staff were so professional but also very warm and welcoming. All the ladies in the office have such great energy and it was always a pleasure going to the office. I am 5 months post op and SO happy with my results. I have never felt so comfortable and confident in my own skin. Dr Plant listened to what I wanted and delivered beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend Dr Plant to anyone considering plastic surgery. Thank you to Dr plant and the ladies: Alex, Maryann and Leigh-Anne!!!
Hey everyone, I went to Dr.Plant to get a revision surgery which included a mastopexy, new implants, liposuction and an internal bra and I have to say I couldn’t be happier. From the moment I walked into the office I was greeted warmly by the lovely receptionists and was seen by Dr.Plant. I have had many consultations and this is my second breast augmentation and Dr.Plant is by far the best, kindest and most knowledgeable surgeon I have met. Not only is he professional but he also takes the time to explain the procedure and what it takes to get the desired outcome. The day of surgery of course I was nervous and Dr.Plant played my favourite jams before going under and I woke up feeling great. His bedside manner is excellent. After my surgery my stitches were a bit difficult to heal and right away Dr.Plant addressed all my concerns and got me healed up in no time at all. I am 6 weeks post op and I am obsessed with them. I also want to shout-out to Mary-Anne for answering all my emails with empathy and kindness and for never making me feel stupid for all the questions I asked, you are wonderful and together with the team you all really are an outstanding bunch. My follow-up is in October which I will be posting some more after pictures and reviews. Thank you so much for making a big decision like this a walk in the park. I highly recommend Dr.Plant you will not regret your decision. Karen V
Dr. Plant and his team are absolutely amazing! I’ve had a BBL with Dr. Plant in 2021 and a breast lift + augmentation in March of 2024. Both procedures exceeded my expectations and I would 100% recommend Dr. Plant to anyone considering cosmetic surgery. Dr. Plant was informative throughout the entire process. He listened to my wishes and delivered excellent results. He’s very knowledgeable and skilled and his work is almost undetectable. I was really nervous about the scars that come with a lollipop breast lift but they already look great at only 7 weeks post op. I had minimal pain and discomfort after the procedure and only needed Tylenol for the first 5 days. I was pretty much back to normal within the first week. I had 490ccs placed above the muscle. The ladies in the office are also very attentive and helpful as well. Daniella made the entire booking process seamless. Maryann provided detailed pre-operative instructions and promptly responded to all of the questions I had pre-op and post-op. Alex and nurse Leigh Anne were also fantastic. Updated on 14 May 2024:
Good question. Although you have not specified, it appears as though you've had a dual plane breast augmentation and the pec muscle on the affected side has been slightly overreleased medially creating this depression. It is a hard issue to fix but can be addressed with a revision including a repair of the muscle or potentially camouflaged by a fat transfer. I’d suggest having a consultation with a local plastic surgeon with expertise in complex breast revision to be examined and get a better sense of what your options are
The answer to that question really depends on what your goal for appearance is. If you are looking to. have a relatively natural look then you would not likely need a lift. Your current implants are too large (and specifically wide) for your chest which is why they have compressed horizontally and appear oval rather than round. If you were to downsize to something in the 400 range that properly fits your base width then you would have a nice, natural result without needing a lift. If looking very full at the top and augmented is your goal then you may benefit from a small lift depending on the exact profile of implant you end up going with. I’d suggest having a consultation with a local plastic surgeon with expertise in breast revision to be examined and get a better sense of what your options are
It’s very difficult to predict a specific cup size after breast augmentation. The answer depends partially on how large your breasts were before the operation and what size implants are being put in, but also what brand of bra. There is really no consistency anymore between what a “D” really is from one brand to another. One woman may be a double d in one brand and a c in another. The best way to judge is to try the implants at your sizing session and see if they look right for your frame and whether they look like what you picture a DD/E cup should look like on you rather than focus on what the actual letter in the new bras you eventually buy are. As for the internal bra, there are many versions of this and very few surgeons capable of performing the suture technique that you need to round out the lateral border nicely while pushing the implants centrally. It tends to end up a bit squared in most surgeons hands so make sure the surgeon you choose has extensive experience in this technique Hope that helps!
Great question. Without examining you it is difficult to be certain but based on the photos it looks like a few issues going on here. There is a significant implant issue which would be better diagnosed in person, however it appears as though your surgeon chose implants that were too wide for your frame and under dissected the pocket, which is why they are shaped more like vertical ovals rather than circles. They also seek to be too high, which is either a superior malposition or your surgeon put them completely under the muscle rather than doing a proper dual plane augmentation. The reason you see your breast tissue hanging off the implant laterally (a.k.a waterfall deformity) is because you needed a stronger lift technique. A periareolar lift was never going to elevate the areolae enough nor reshape the breast enough. A vertical lift or anchor lift were really what was needed. Sorry for the situation you’re in but if you see an expert in breast implant revision in your area these are all things that can be fixed.
Excellent question! There is no one-size-fits-all answer to that question, just like there is no one-size-fits-all implant. The simplest way of answering is to essentially advise that when something bothers you enough that it feels worth having surgery to correct it, that’s when it is time for a revision. Of course, things like a ruptured implant or a capsular contracture could push you to feel its worth having surgery sooner (and it is important to make sure to regularly have your implants checked to make sure there aren’t any actually issues with the implants). A better question for RealSelf would be “can I benefit from a revision” and in this case you definitely can. You do have an early waterfall deformity and the implants both appear to be sitting quite high so seeing an expert in breast revision near you would be advisable to see what specifically needs to be done to improve your results. Based on the photos it appears as though you’d benefit from having your pockets adjusted to let the implants sit in a more natural position and give a softer look and then have the lift revised to bring the breast tissues into harmony with the implants. If a capsular contracture is present that will need to be addressed as well. Bottom line, if you aren’t bothered by the appearance and you have had your implants assessed to ensure that they are not ruptured then you do not NEED to have a revision, but if the implants are ruptured, uncomfortable or you just want the appearance improved then it certainly would be reasonable to have a revision at this point. Hope that helps!
