My surgeon's website has told me that with vaser liposuction, about 80% of the fat cells will survive breast fat transfer (his sourced paper: Acute adipocyte viability after third-generation ultrasound-assisted liposuction), whereas with traditional liposuction only about 50% survive. This first statistic is different to what real self says (50-70%), and I'm a bit confused with what to expect. Can anyone provide any clarification?
Hello! Im finally 6 months post op from my fat transfer to breasts. The size increase was about 1 cup. I ate alot of healthy food during the recovery but due to social events I binged on a lot of junk food like salt sugar and bad fats after the first couple weeks. I dont think it made me swell worse, but does junk food kill/encourage less fat cell survival? I have maintained a stable within a couple lbs since the procedure
Hello!! I'm pretty slim (about 45kg and 1.55m). My boobs are about 170/180cc each and I'm thinking of breast fat transfer. I'm really hoping for 100cc more in each breast. I've seen a few surgeons who have told me that I can retain between 65cc to 100cc in each breast and they can harvest between 350cc to 450cc. What's the fat survival / retention percentage? I heard that survival rate is around 60-70% but how much goes in after purification? Thanks
I had my implants removed and 100 cc fat transferred into each breast at the same time. The fat seemed to have taken very well. Two months ago I had another 470 cc fat transferred into each breast. I think my breasts are wider and have more lateral fullness now but am unsure how much increase I got. Could you help estimate how much of the 470 cc survived based on the pictures?
Can gentle moving cupping over The fat graft area (my breasts) potentially increase local blood flow to the fat graft to establish more blood supply to help fat survival? I am having a fat transfer to the breasts in two weeks and want to incorporate post-op techniques that will support survival rate. My surgeon provided no information on it And there was only some info online to support this. If yes, how long should I wait post-op till I perform this?
I heard that taking melatonin for a week before and a week after breast fat transfer will stabilize the cells and increase fat survivability. Is there any research on this? I also heard that eating more carbs to raise insulin levels causes the fat transfer to take better. Is there any science that confirms this? Is there any scientific research that points to or confirms either of these claims, or any other supplement/diet in increasing fat survival rates? Would it hurt to try these anyway?
I am wondering what will happen with pregnancy, specifically when my boobs will grow throughout the pregnancy, breast feeding, then when they shrink again afterwards. How will getting the fat transfer affect these things and how can I expect them to grow/shrink/look throughout this process?
I had implants to correct tuberous breasts, developed severe cc removed then about 5 years ago. I was left with limited breast tissue and internal scar tissue and adhesions. 7 months ago, I had 300cc of fat transferred to each breast. I had ok survival (probably 50-60%) considering my surgical history and am getting another round next week to smooth out the remaining contour irregularities and adhesions. Does more fat survive the second time since the blood supply has been established?
I am having fat grafting done to my breast (lipo on flanks, abs and inner thigh) and am wondering if there is any diet /nutritional guidelines to help maximize fat survival in my breast, while not undoing my lipo results after surgery? I heard anything from continue my normal diet to switching to a high fat / carb diet for 2 months. As reference, I am in shape, eat a relatively low carb diet that is high in healthy fats, practice intermittent fasting (16/8), and exercise 4-5X a week.
I'm 5'2 115 pounds, 32A prior to breasts fat transfer, I was told that close to 800cc were grafted from abs and back and put into my breasts. How much of cup size increase I'm looking at? How many cc is likely to survive?
