How Much Does Bellafill Cost?

Treatment with Bellafill costs $2,775 on average, but the price can range between $799 and $5,100, according to 159 reviews from RealSelf members who’ve had it.

Doctors on RealSelf say that one syringe of Bellafill costs $800 to $1,200, and it's not uncommon to need multiple syringes to achieve your desired results.

Formulated with microspheres of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), this collagen-based dermal filler is FDA-approved to smooth nasolabial folds (aka smile lines) and indented acne scarring. It’s also commonly used “off-label” to smooth cellulite dimples, or in larger quantities to augment the buttocks or hips.

Bellafill is more expensive than other injectable fillers, but there's a big upside: results last up to five years, compared to 12–24 months for most hyaluronic acid-based fillers.

Here, we’ll break down why the cost varies so widely, whether real patients believe it’s worth the price, and if insurance ever covers it.

Are there cheaper alternatives to Bellafill?

"Bellafill is one of the premium dermal fillers because of its duration, which is why it will be more expensive, initially, than hyaluronic acid [HA] fillers,” says Dr. Steven Weiner, an otolaryngologist in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. “However, over your lifetime, the cost of Bellafill will be significantly less because each subsequent injection builds on the previous fill—instead of starting from scratch, as with HA injectables."

HA fillers like Juvéderm and Restylane also smooth wrinkles, add volume, and contour the face. Considering that the average cost of these treatment options is $750, Bellafill may actually be a less expensive (and more convenient) choice in the long run, since you’ll need far fewer treatments to maintain your results.

If you’re allergic to bovine collagen (the main component of Bellafill) but want a filler that boosts collagen, you could consider Radiesse (average cost: $1,050). It contains microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), which stimulate your skin’s own natural collagen production, to firm and smooth it over time.

What affects the cost of Bellafill?

These are the biggest factors in the price of this injectable filler treatment.

1. How many syringes you need

How much filler you need will have the biggest impact on your total bill. During your consultation, when you’re discussing your treatment plan, ask for an estimate of how many syringes will be required to achieve your desired results and how much each of them will cost.

If you have multiple areas treated (or one area with very deep folds), you’ll need more product, which means more expense. In fact, a large area like Bellafill for hip dips or butt augmentation can cost as much as $5,000.

2. Your injector’s credentials and level of experience

A physician assistant or registered nurse injector typically charges less than a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon, though any reputable, in-demand provider will charge more for this expertise.

Because a bad Bellafill result isn’t reversible, it’s well worth paying for experience, to help mitigate possible complications.

3. Their practice location

Practices and med spas in high-rent cities usually have to charge more, to cover rents and other operational costs.

Prices can even vary by neighborhood, so it’s worth considering providers who aren’t paying for luxurious practices in the heart of downtown. Again, skill and experience are far more important than a fancy office.

4. Special offers or discounts

Some providers offer promotional or discounted pricing on Bellafill treatments. This is a common practice among injectors, but it’s wise to be a bit wary.

Before choosing your provider based on a deal, research them and their facility, determine if they have the right credentials and experience, and read their reviews. Deep discounts can be a red flag.

Is Bellafill worth the money?

Bellafill has an 60% Worth It Rating on RealSelf, so the majority of patients who reviewed it think their results were worth the investment.

Happy reviewers say their Bellafill injections gave their face more volume and contour, with fewer wrinkles and a younger-looking appearance. This is also a long-lasting filler, which several reviewers note was a major selling point..

The longevity of this filler can also be a drawback, though. Since Bellafill can’t be dissolved with hyaluronidase injections like hyaluronic acid-based fillers can, it can be extremely difficult to reverse the results if you’re unsatisfied with them or have a serious complication.

Those who weren’t happy with their results reported side effects like persistent lumps (known as granulomas) or edema, a persistent swelling caused by pockets of fluid. One reviewer, who spent over $4,000 on Bellafill injections, says she is now paying for weekly visits to a dermatologist in an effort to treat the edema.

An experienced injector will be able to talk you through the pros and cons of all of your options, depending on your goals and budget.

Can you finance a Bellafill treatment?

Yes, most practices offer payment plans or accept financing options.

The CareCredit credit card is widely accepted by providers across the U.S., for both plastic surgery and nonsurgical procedures.
