Five Ways To Look Younger

We all dream of turning back the clock however navigating through the world of anti-ageing measures can be tricky for many. Most of our patients are interested in addressing common changes that take place in the face and neck as we age – loss of volume, sagging skin and textural changes of the skin – but unsure where to start and what procedures are best suited to their concerns.

Thanks to technology and advances in the types of treatments on offer, there is more rejuvenation options available today than ever before. Whilst this is good news, in turn it can also be very overwhelming for you, the customer.

This is where we step in to help you. At Eden Institute, our goal is to help our patient’s look and feel better with customised treatment plans that produce natural-looking results.

Here are five ways to look younger now.

WHAT YOU SEE: The eye contour has the thinnest and most fragile skin on the entire face, causing the eye area to show the first initial signs of aging. Lines, puffiness and excess skin around the eye are all huge contributors to tired looking eyes and are enough to cause the face to look aged as a whole. As we age, the ligaments in our eyelids weaken and as a result, the fat around our eyes begin to bulge under the eye lids.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: At the Eden Institute we offer treatments, both surgical and non-surgical to improve the appearance of aged eyes. Our Blepharoplasty - Eye Tuck procedure is ideal for patients who are concerned over heavy upper eyelids and puffy bags below. Depending on your area of concern there are two options, an upper eye tuck for those with dropping eye lids or a lower eyelid tuck can be performed to those with puffy bags under their eyes. Wrinkle Relaxers and Fillers may also be an option to consider. BBL Laser and PRP may also be appropriate for you.

WHAT YOU SEE: Lines and wrinkles can crop up almost anywhere around the face and occur from a multitude of lifestyle influences - something so simple as smiling can cause the breakdown of collagen and elastin around the mouth and eyes. After years of working your lips, drinking, eating, smiling and potentially smoking, tiny yet hard-to-remove lines become etched in.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Injectables such as Wrinkle Relaxers work well to smooth out lines and wrinkles however you do need to keep up with treatments to maintain results. Fillers can help to temporarily add volume, enhancing facial contours and/or filling in lines and wrinkles. They are also great for plumping up the area from the inside out to produce that youthful appearance.

WHAT YOU SEE: One reason why our facial features lose shape and become less defined is because of fat changes and movements. Collagen is an essential ingredient for full, plump facial features, however over time our collagen production decreases. Thinning lips are a concern for many women as they can begin to flatten out and lose their cupids bow.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: When Fillers are applied to the lips, it re-establishes the shape and if needed, we can also enhance the fullness of the lips. At the Eden Institute, we ensure that the results for any procedure look subtle and not overdone. When lip enhancement procedures are done properly the appearance of having plump, youthful lips can counteract the effect of ageing.

WHAT YOU SEE: Many women forget to treat the neck area as they would their face; we forget that this area is just as important and visible to the naked eye as our face is. The neck is highly susceptible to damage (e.g. from the sun) making it an easy target for wrinkles to appear. A saggy neck is not one to be taken lightly!

WHAT YOU CAN DO: If you think your neck makes you look older than you feel, Dr Edinburg may recommend a Neck Lift or Neck Liposuction, to restore a youthful appearance to your neck. Excess fat may be removed by liposuction if required, leaving the skin tightened and joined together for a smoother neck profile. PRP may be of value as well.

WHAT YOU SEE:  Dry, dehydrated skin is one of the most common skin concerns for women of all ages. As we get older skin loses hydration, causing it to appear dull and less radiant. We may also start to see textural changes to our skin which adds to the ageing look.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: When it comes to improving skin texture, a combinations of Lasers, PRP and dermaneedling may be your best options; these treatments exfoliate and resurface the top damaged layers of skin to reveal a fresh new healthy layer. To maintain results, we recommend our patients switch to Medical-Grade Skincare as they can be more effective in tackling specific skin concerns than over-the-counter products.
