The benefits of VASER Liposelection vs. traditional liposuction
People come in all different shapes and sizes, and many of us have those stubborn spots that are resistant to diet and exercise. Over the past two decades, Americans have turned to body sculpting to help create the look that improves their self confidence. In fact, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, liposuction for fat removal and body contouring was the top surgical cosmetic procedure in 2007 with 456,828 surgeries performed.
Advanced technology has now taken traditional liposuction to the next level with VASER® Liposelection. I have used the VASER® technology in my practice since early 2001, and firmly believe that the results far surpass those of traditional suctioning methods. VASER® differs from traditional liposuction in that it utilizes ultrasonic energy to break up fat for removal and leave important tissues largely intact. Traditional body contouring methods are suction based and cannot differentiate fat from nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissues.
Also, VASER® is so sensitive and precise that it can be used in the even the most delicate areas-such as inner thighs, arms, neck and chin. Over the 7 years I have used VASER®, I have seen that my patients get smoother contouring with less bruising and swelling. Not only does it produce excellent results, but recovery time is significantly shorter and generally much less painful.
People who undergo VASER® surgery are generally able to return to work a few days after surgery, and can see results almost immediately. In contrast, traditional liposuction can have a much longer recovery process. My patients agree, many telling me they’re surprised at how quickly they heal.
The VASER® procedure can always be done in conjunction with other surgical procedures, such as breast augmentation. In fact, combining these procedures can create the optimal sculpted look. If you’re considering a body contouring procedure, I want you to know that I treat my patients as I would treat a family member, and am committed to providing the best technology available.
