Hello. I notice many patients have the tape/steri strips over their tummy tuck incisions. I had a horrible reaction to the strips with my last c-section which left my stomach itchy, red and blistered and I had to take antibiotics. Is there an alternative to the strips following the tummy tuck procedure?
I am itching so bad I am causing bruises and actually damage my skin because of the consistent itching. I only have the steri stripes left around my belly button and have removed the others in hopes for relief. I wear a compression band but separate it by wearing a cotton undershirt so it does not rub and prevent sweating. In general I have severe skin allergies and doc took lots of precautions to try to help me. No rash just terrible itching. I need help getting the itching under control.
I had a 360 belt lipectomy on Dec 27th. The Dr put in external stitches along right hip to hold better because he said I was pulled tight there. He removed them 10 days post op and it reopened in office. He held pressure and bandaged me. He didn't want sterile strip on because wanting it to drain. Told me to keep bandage on and it would stay wet with fluid. Leave it on to shower then change after I shower. I go back in 5 days.
My TT drainage tube was removed 4 days ago. I asked the doctor about steri strips to help the hole close and he said to cleanse 2-3 times a day with soap and water, pat dry, and cover with gauze, and it will close on its own. Does the tissue look healthy and would it be ok to apply steri strips to aid in wound closing? I don't see my doctor for another week and would like to have another opinion. Thank you!
Hello I've had a TT done exactly a week ago today. And I think I've had an allergic reaction to the steristrips .. What do I do? And I have low back pain from walking hunched over and suggestions on relieving the pressure from my back?
