I recently had a septoplasty done and was informed he had stitched splints in to my nose, now I was trying to remove the blood clots in my one nostril and it got stuck so Im no longer sure if it was a blood clot or the splint that was stitched in to my nose. It was thick and black like the rest of my clots, but was the only one to get stuck. Is there a possibility Ive moved the splint?
I have sleep apnea, AFIB, history of blood clots and taking Xarelto. I use a BiPAP with full face mask. I'm currently scheduled to have septoplasty and turbinate reduction. My ENT said he was ok with me using my BiPAP. But he also said I will have some congestion for up to a week. I can't go one night without CPAP, due to my AFIB heart condition. I've had conflicting answers from other ENT's stating I would need to hold off the BiPAP for a few days.
I am so fed up. It's day 11 post op and I can't breathe at all through my nose. Also I feel so disgusting the inside of my nostrils (which are quite visible!) are still covered in dried blood and LOTS of supposedly dissolvable stitches. My surgeon/hospital didn't give me any kind of spray/solution and I have been told to simply leave it but I am so fed up and am supposed to be returning to work tomorrow but can't go in as i feel like Frankenstein right now :(
I had my septoplasty done 9 days ago, I am daily rinsing my nose with saline water, but there are still some dry blood clots left. How to remove them? Will they come out with time or I have to approach my surgeon to get them removed?
